POLL - Dexter - Best Scenes of the Finale (SPOILERS)

17 Dec 2012

Another year closes on Dexter and along with the realization that Dexter and the man who portrays him is over forty, we say good bye to not only plots that brought us random Russians but a poisonous serial killer as well. And in the newly minted grand tradition of SpoilerTV polls, we ask you the viewers what your favorite scene was. And as this was the finale, there are more poll options than normal.

Did last night's episode move incredibly fast? And what does the death of Maria mean for next season?

  1. So many great scenes, although Debs shooting LaGuerta was my favourite although I did enjoying seeing Doakes again, and Masuka shooting down LaGuerta's evidence was nice.

  2. While Jen's acting was great, am I the only one that thinks Deb wouldn't have done that. I totally buy Deb not arresting Dexter when she found out but there's no way she'd murder La Guaerta to protect him - where the hell did that come from - it's not in her nature.

  3. Doakes is one of my favorite characters. It was great seeing him back and he had some great lines ("Bullsh*t, you don't have any friends" \ "Lizard on ice") But LaGuerta dying is without doubt my favorite. She had it coming from the jump.

  4. Deb shooting LaGuerta, but most importantly her reaction afterwards... Pretty sure this will mean war between the siblings on how to handle it. She never shot someone innocent before and it is going to be discovered that it was her gun that fired the bullet.

  5. actually the best scene of the episode was at the very end.. when Dex and Deb were walking in Batista's party.. and dex says “Is this a new beginning, or the beginning of the end?”

  6. That was the only thing I didn't like about the finale was that with Deb shooting LaGuerta with her service weapon, she's tied to her death much more than she woud have been if she'd just let Dexter kill her.

  7. Loved seeing Doakes again and of course pre-show Dexter. And the shooting down of the evidence was just poetic.

  8. Actually I don't think that was Batista's party.

  9. Deb killing Laguerta was the best scene along with her reaction and the shot afterwards where they ended the episode. In second place I'd put "You glide like a fucking lizard on ice", I miss Doakes so much, and that was a glimpse of the old epic Doakes.

  10. I thought it was as they were entering the party and Dex said it in overvoice.

  11. I could see her killing LaGuerta but I wouldn't have thought she would have done it the way she did. I thought it was going to be a total accident.

  12. ..The best season finally of dexter ever made thats last scenes completely overwhelming

  13. It def is the Deb kills LaGeurta scene, but it's my favorite, because I think it was so uniquely done, and left in a rather precarious note, more than any other season. There is nothing in the scene or moment that was really pleasing, but despairing (especially because Dex was so unwilling to waver from his plan) which I found unexpected in terms of wanting Deb to be able to kill LaGeurta for so long! -And then for them to walk through the crowds at New Year's together in a kind a kind of fog was a real dramatic contrast to the kill, especially when we know Hannah is out there!

  14. I think it was a crowd of people outside for New Years celebration. I think they were walking among strangers, but I could be wrong, I wasn't really looking around, as much as listening to the voice over and watching the expressions on their faces...

  15. Same; looking for expressions and listening for voice over

  16. The confrontation between Hannah and Deb. That leads Deb to the ultimate decision.

  17. Agree. Why she didn't let Dexter take care of her? Why she didn't just walk away??

  18. My favorite scene had me laughing so hard I had to pause it and rewind after.

IT was when Dexter went to meet Deb and discuss LaGuerta's interrogation of Deb and the evidence she had. Then out of nowhere Estrada makes noise from the trunk!! XD

It just killed me that Dexter was so casual about having a doped man in his trunk and Deb was so clueless to it! XD

  19. I thought it was the South Beach New Year's street party... En route to and not far from the party at Batista's new bar.

    ReplyDelete
  20. I loved that she just walked off after he told her Estrada was in the trunk; that was perfect.

  21. I disliked that bit too, but I think it fit with Deb's character to do it impulsively without thinking of the consequences in my opinion.

I was just annoyed at how Deb managed to ruin Dexter's plan with one impulsive act.

  22. Agree. Deb killing LaGuerta was the best scene, and something many fans expected. And her reaction … Jennifer was brilliant. Love her.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Well, Deb IS a good person and it's not in her nature. Normally. She did it to protect her
brother and herself. LaGuerta would have never stopped. She knew it.
Dex tried to make her look insane, confused and determining to set him up to clear Doakes
name. It didn't work, she still came after him.
And people do anything to protect their loved ones.

  24. Good question. Hope, they'll answer this one, and many others, next season.

    ReplyDelete
  25. You mean the: "What the hell is that?" "Estrada"
Yes, I loved that part too. It was priceless. LOL

    ReplyDelete
  26. Loved that too. It was like: Oh, fuck, do what you always do, why do I even bother with
    it?

    ReplyDelete
  27. Hard to believe they could beat S6 finale, ha?

    ReplyDelete
  28. ..Of all season ending I think so because the last one left windows open this one is a BIG BLACK HOLE & SUPERNOVA because the fireworks represent that SKY &..UNIVERSE of possibilities

    ReplyDelete
  29. Ya. I think it def implies she's gonna be the worst accomplice ever! XD

    ReplyDelete
  30. The best thing about that line is that it's SO true, and I never realized it before! The way they always show him walking in slow-motion... Doakes described it perfectly. It's like he's floating.

    ReplyDelete
  31. which kinda makes it hard to believe that she killed LaGuerta after that confrontation with Hannah! Deb is a good person, it's still hard to believe.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Best line was Matthews to Maria............you better start kissing everything that looks like an ass.....LOLOLOLOL

    ReplyDelete
  33. The scariest thing was Dexter openly walking through the party with his killing uniform on....very very scary...

    ReplyDelete
  34. That line was great too! Unfortunately some great moments from the finale had to be left out otherwise the poll could have easily been thirty-forty options.

  35. the deb/dexter/laguerta scene was something else, really
