And here we are again with a new feature for "2013", but this time we want our fans to tell us what they want?
The new feature is called "SpoilerTV Mixtape" what this mean is, this will be on a Weekly bases. We will bring you all the Amazing Songs from shows that aired the respective week.
No matter which show you watch, you can always tune in to find some Great Music (we all love good music won't we?) :)

ReplyDeleteNew music is always a good thing. It would give me titles to some of the Supernatural songs I haven't heard before. I'm told VPD has some good ones also.
ReplyDeleteI think it's a great idea, there are often not well known song that are very beautiful, on tv shows. I hope I will have time to check them if this works out :)

ReplyDeleteAwesome idea. Checking what music was played is usually one of the first things I do after watching an episode. And this way we'll all get introduced to tunes from other shows, maybe get interested in the show itself.

ReplyDeleteI read his response and voted "no." My initial reaction was I wouldn't be interested in the feature and read it, but I wasn't going to vote just to say no. But I changed my mind.
ReplyDeleteI assume you voted no then? I feel like although it may not be "necessary", (one could argue none of the features here are actually technically necessary) it does make it easier to find certain music, from certain episodes, of certain television shows. I just question why anyone would vote against making something easier for the masses. (I personally have tried to find songs from shows only to come up short, because I only know maybe one line of it, and that is frustrating to me, It would benefit the site to have this) And sorry if I offended you, but I think voting against this is stupid. Like I said if you don't want it then don't use it. Simple as that.

My girlfriend once was busy,doing 8 things at once and her daughter did something,well my friend Ricky,(yes,that was her name) called her daughter something like 'that was a dumb,or stupid move'. A few months later Ricky was murdered yet to this day that is the once thing that stuck in Samantha's head.And that was 5 years later..My point,you just never know what sticks into peoples heads or what they come to believe in.....

There are many aspects of this site I don't use for whatever reason, but I wouldn't vote no, and then go on to comment how unnecessary I believe them to be. Seems counter-productive. And I am surprised to see you not being a cheerleader for something cool around here.
ReplyDeleteWhat? Dumb asses, thanks! I guess I am because I'm confused why someone is so puzzled that people are giving feedback when someone is asking for feedback. The person who posted this could have gone another way and not made it a poll, but rather asked for suggestions on content they wanted covered. I assume that if someone asks a yes/no question, they want to know if the answer is "no."

ReplyDeleteBecause Spoiler TV was asking for the community's opinion. The whole point of the poll is to gauge reader interest. The amount of "no" votes are just as important as the "yes" votes. The system doesn't work when people only vote "yes" or abstain from voting.
Campaigning,i wrote one sentence,how the heck am i campaigning against it.I said i didn't think it was necessary,that's all. I didn't vote because i saw the majority of the people wanted it...And yes their are aspects to this site i don't use either........BTW i love that you 'tell it like it is' i should be able to also..
ReplyDeleteThat's an awesome idea. But it seems like a great deal of work. I've loved loved loved the SPN song polls and really appreciated @Dahne putting the song links in. I know I'm lame but I get a lot of my new (or new to me) music from TV, so this would be something I'd actually use and look forward to. How many people would need to be interested in it to counterbalance the work involved in putting it together you think?
ReplyDeleteWhatever, most of the "no" votes are the same idiots that vote poor on every show poll, and negatively on other polls,and go around downvoting comments because they can, etc... those were the ones I was originally calling dumb-asses. Those are the ones I was questioning originally. I didn't expect actual replies to be made to that rhetorical comment, but I digress.

Some people have wondered why it is I tend to not comment as much here anymore as I used to do. and why I am so cynical when I do. Well this is the reason. This place has become a cesspool of trolls. Whether it be poll trolls, or comment trolls, or downvote trolls. The days before all that crap was much better, and I miss it.
I will admit I made a party foul here in my original comment, but damn get over it. Voting no because I pissed you off in a comment is equally as stupid as voting no because you can.
I'm sure the poll speaks to what the majority of the readers here want so forget I even asked a rhetorical question.
Commence the downvotes and I fully expect this comment to be deleted.

Maybe it's a reaction to your posts, which I admittedly don't cross paths with very often. I don't know. My experience is that most people here who take the time to post are well-mannered people who offer honest opinions and that is what the poll is asking for.

ReplyDeleteI would like to think that too, (for the most part people posting comments are) but I find it is not always to be true anymore, I have my reasons. It's the ones not explaining themselves and their no votes, etc... that annoy me. Let's just leave it at that.
Also I just went off on a rant, and it wasn't necessarily addressed at you in particular even though it was in reply to your comment, it just happened to be where I decided to put my rant.

This is very very untrue. For every downvote on the site there are 150 up votes. So downvotes are an insignificant detail, and who cares if you get downvoted. No one cares. I certainly don't.
If you see a "comment troll", flag them. I can't recall reading any? Can you link me to some?
Poll trolls, exist on everyone site/poll that has ever existed on the internet. They were here long before SpoilerTV existed and they are will be here for the foreseeable future. Nothing will change that.
The best thing is to ignore them, and not make comments about them because that is exactly what they want. No comments, they get bored and move onto another site.
And let me add something: I've seen trolling. Trolling you can't even begin to imagine, truly malicious and evil trolling. THIS place, while bad in one or two parts (mostly because of the voting feature), isn't anywhere CLOSE to being a cesspool. The people on here are overwhelmingly kind, intelligent, eloquent, and compassionate.
ReplyDeleteI'm obviously making a broad statement on the state of the site ever since the "new disqus" format has been used here. I don't have any links But I feel like every time I make a comment here in the last several months or so I get those friggin downvotes.(it got out of hand after I had a debate with a certain user about my opinion on the show Revolution) I hate the damn things as you fully know due to my many recent complaints about them .
ReplyDeleteI can't think of anything I hate more than making a relevant comment and having someone downvote it without being man or woman enough to express their dislike to my actual comment so as to further the discussion, and or spark debate. Obviously I comment here and to state my point and so that I can add to a discussion, or spark debate, but the downvote thing is taking away from the discussion, because it doesn't require an explanation. I won't say I never downvote people, but when I do I am man enough to reply to their post with my opinion or give them an explanation as to why I disagree.
I'm all about a discussion here, but how can you have a discussion if there are people who refuse to try to make a valid case for the negative votes they are doing. Whether those be downvotes and/or poll votes.
It makes coming here and comment not fun anymore to me.
It all boils down to the changes in disqus that have happened over the past year or so, and how it allows this mess when it didn't use to. I know you can't help it, but I can help it by refusing to make any more comments here.

But I would really appreciate it if you would stop making underhanded comments about who I assume is me. I could care less about stalking you or downvoting you or anything else or a disagreement that happened quite a while ago. We don't even watch the same shows. If you are annoying people or they are disagreeing with your opinion or tone, that is all you.

by STV Team and Users.... so the top songs will be from me and the team maybe 5-9 each week and 1 "Extra" from the "Users" that would be picked randomly :)
this way everyone can contribute to this feature... what do you think?
Rick--I'm sorry you are having a bad day. And I'd hate for some imagined feud to pull you away from a site you enjoy. I assumed you were talking about me because I'm the only person you've argued with on the Revolution posts here and you started posting nasty comments about your "stalker/hater" directly after tracking me down to fuss at me. I can assure you, I'm not fighting with you or hating or anything else, if that helps at all. All the best, I hope you continue to enjoy SpoilerTV as it is a really great site.
ReplyDeleteI think it sounds awesome! I have to apologize now because as invested in TV as I am, I am awful when it comes to music and I would only be able to be a consumer and not a contributor. But I would definitely stop by for it. :) You guys are great!
