The Walking Dead - Season 3 - Casting News - Comic Character To Be Introduced This Season?

Thanks to Anon for the following.

Tyreese if you didn't know is one of the more famous characters from the comics who (up until this point) hasn't been brought into the show. In the comics he is Rick's right hand man after Shane dies.

The person who created this thread has been on the Woodbury set and last month revealed another actor who would be on the show ("Martinez" played by Jose Cantillo), and sure enough, that actor appeared in the third episode of this season. So it's safe to say this recent news is fully accurate.

Tyreese was filming tonight in Senoia (woodbury), so it looks like he will be introduced in the finale. He is being played by Chad Coleman.

  1. If this is true, that'd be awesome and perfect casting.

  2. Interesting possibility, but I've been liking Daryl being Rick's right hand man this season... but I'm sure they're setting something up for when Daryl and Merle eventually come face to face

  3. Oh AWESOME!
Always glad to get actors from The Wire on series I watch!!!

Nice to see Seth Gillam ( Carver) albeit very briefly on Homeland a couple weeks ago, Sonja Sohn (Kima) will be on Burn Notice soon, Gbenga Akinnagbe (Chris Parlow) will be on Graceland, and a number of others have appeared in episodes this year as guest stars.

  5. So excited! Rereading the comics I forgot how big of a help he was after Shane's death. And Chad Coleman looks like an exfootball player so it works. Here's to hoping his family comes with him.

  7. He was in The Wire. I had high hopes for him to be Tyreese. I can vouch that he won't disappoint fans.

  9. Makes me worried about what they're going to do with Daryl. Honestly, and as much as I liked Tyrese, I'd hoped to open this and find out they'd cast Abraham.
