----------
-Percent Change from Year-Ago Evening – Tuesday 11/22/11
NBC: +22, CW: +10, CBS: - 5, ABC: -49, Fox: -62
----------
-Winners:
NCIS (CBS), Dancing With the Stars (ABC), The Voice (NBC), NCIS: Los Angeles (CBS)
-Losers:
Raising Hope (Fox), Ben and Kate (Fox), Hart of Dixie (CW), Happy Endings (ABC), Don’t Trust the B____ in Apartment 23 (ABC), The Mindy Project (Fox), Emily Owens, M.D. (CW), Private Practice (ABC)
-----------
-Ratings Breakdown:
It was a clean sweep for CBS, with a first-place overnight finish in each of the six half-hours care of NCIS (10.0 rating/16 share), spin-off NCIS: Los Angeles (9.4/15) and recent entry Vegas (6.4/11). But retention for Vegas of only 69 percent from the 9:30 p.m. portion of NCIS: Las Vegas (9.3/15) and the growing older skew makes its future past this season a question mark.
Second overall was ABC thanks to the live Dancing With the Stars Results Show, which finished No. 2 in the 8 p.m. hour with a healthy 9.4/15. But the combination of sitcoms Happy Endings (#3: 3.9/ 6) and Don’t Trust the B____ in Apartment 23 (#3: 2.7/ 4) from 9-10 p.m. did not capitalize on the lead-in support. And soon-to-conclude Private Practice earned its cancellation stripes, with a 3.3/ 6 (#2t) at 10 p.m.
The positive news on NBC, of course, was The Voice, with a third-place 6.4/10 in the overnights from 8-9 p.m. Comparably, The Voice built by 73 percent from the first half of former time period occupant The Biggest Loser on the year-ago evening (3.7/ 6 on 11/22/11). And it will win the time period among adults 18-49. Next on NBC were freshman sitcoms Go On (#2: 4.0/ 6) and The New Normal (#2: 3.2/ 5) from 9-10 p.m., which are not benefitting against sitcoms on ABC and Fox. And Parenthood closed the night with a 3.3/ 6 (#2t) at 10 p.m., which was on par with the year-ago evening.
Elsewhere, Fox’s two-hour sitcom block -- Raising Hope (#4: 2.7/ 4), Ben and Kate (#4: 1.9/ 3), New Girl (#4: 3.4/ 5) and The Mindy Project (#4: 2.2/ 4) – continues to underperform. Comparably, the quartet slipped by an average of 62 percent from two-hours of The X Factor on the year-ago evening (6.5/10 on 11/22/11). And The CW could not compete with its combination of Hart of Dixie (#5: 1.2/ 2) and Emily Owens, M.D. (#5: 1.1/ 2).

WOW, just read that NBC won November Sweeps!
ReplyDeleteWhoever placed a bet in Vegas last year on that happening just made a mint!! XD
They won Nov Sweeps every years now ;-)
ReplyDeleteWe'll see in February without The Voice :/
but they'll win May sweeps
ReplyDeletealso this is the first time NBC have won November sweeps in almost a decade
ReplyDeleteDamn, Go On is beating New Girl still, which surprises the hell out of me. I love that!
ReplyDeleteI think so :-)
ReplyDeleteI guess nobody likes the comedies on tuesday....
ReplyDeleteWhat's NCIS: Las Vegas?
ReplyDeleteWell, Berman clearly has no idea what the hell he's even talking about anymore.
ReplyDeleteI would be interested in seeing what NCIS: Las Vegas is like though, tbh.
How many current Tuesday shows will be cancelled by the end of the season?
ReplyDeleteTo be fair Go On does have a strong lead-in. But then again New Girl has lost a ton of audience since it's series premier. It premiered with a 4.7 I believe.
ReplyDeleteare these final numbers?
ReplyDeleteNo, these are the early overnights.
ReplyDeleteWe post the final numbers in the Episode Database here http://www.stvplus.com when they are released later tonight
Ben and Kate :(
ReplyDeleteThe Mindy Project
Don't Trust the B...
and Happy Endings :(
where is Happy Endings? Don't trust the B is going to get canned, this is a ratings low, the network can't afford to keep a show like this on the air.. Its too bad I do really like the show.
ReplyDeletePrivate Practice (already cancelled)
ReplyDeleteDont Trust the Bitches
Happy Endings
The Mindy Project
Ben and Kate
Emily Owens
Vegas
I would add Hart Od Dixie too because if the CW renew it for a 3rd season they'll be stuck in another Nikita situation where they have to weight up embarrising ratings against syndication. Then again this is the CW we're talking about and regardless of how many shows they have in development for next season there is no way Mark Pedowitz will have the balls or money to clean house.
