I didn't miss Rachel and Kurt in this episode as much as I assumed I would. I suppose that has something to do with the return of some of my favorites, which made it feel like the old days. And I liked what I saw of Ryder so far. I hope they give him some good material.
I was shocked there was no Rachel or Kurt in the episode. I really didn't realize it until the last 5 minutes of the show. I like how Sue and Finn will be fighting now. I don't like how they showed Blaine's storyline for only 5 minutes and they just dropped it. I just hope the ratings for Glee go back up because I'm worried the show's going to be canceled soon :(
I'm afraid I found it the first bad episode this season. Maybe (likely) it was the songs I really disliked, maybe I missed Rachel and Kurt, maybe the 5 minutes then nothing of Blaine, but mostly it just felt all over the place and disjointed. I did like the parts with Will and Emma, most of Finn's, and about half of Ryder's debut. While Blake wasn't my favourite Project contender, I can blame RM & co. for choosing him for a role on Glee: he did everything well, and apparently effortlessly. However, that role seems to be little more than a replacement Finn with a little bit of Sam thrown in. Even in the promo photos it's hard to tell at first which is Ryder, which is Sam. Wade/Unique still seems a little like the lovechild of Kurt and Mercedes that Alex (the actor) dreamed he would be, but I really do like where they are taking the character. The actor bugged the hell out of me on TGP#1, but I don't dispute his talent or how he's embodied this character. I _really_ wish Lindsay Pearce had more exposure than that blip of a competitor character last year. Though I hated her in the first half of TGP, by the second she'd won me over by talent and finally soul showing through. I do wonder, like others, if she wasn't passed over by RM. because she wasn't gay and/or a guy.
Oh, I forgot: the "Hand Job" song... that's what put the nail in the coffin on my first negative vote this season. I couldn't believe that's what they were saying, but that thought wouldn't leave my head once I misheard it that way. My husband thought I was spot on, especially once he saw the dance...
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Too bad there was no Rachel and Kurt in this episode

ReplyDeleteIt was ok. Hated that there was no Lea Michele.
ReplyDeleteI loved Marley and, surprisingly, Kitty, too. Melissa and Becca are both really talented. The Hand Jive was a lot of fun.
ReplyDeleteI wish there'd been some Rachel & Kurt
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm sooo over Blaine, of course Kurt won't call you back, you cheated on him, what did you expect
