Didn't realize John Barrowman (I possibly geeked out about that) was going to be in tonight's episode! I really enjoyed the episode. Especially the kiss between Laurel and Oliver!
Loved all the butt kicking in this episode! I also love having a comic series on my screen every week rather than having to wait a year or two in between to see something! Not to say i love it to the degree I loved the Avengers or Thor but it's still great.
I mentioned this before, but I hope this means that Laurel will stop making snide remarks towards Oliver every time she has the chance. It's annoying how often she seems to want to help him one moment, then make him feel like a heartless, self-absorbed jerk the next.
It's understandable in a way, but she really needs to knock it off. I want to like the character, not wonder when she's going to turn a conversation into an insult.
It wouldn't be so bad if she wasn't alternating reacting with either ultra-sympathy for Oliver or attacking him... and usually both in the same episode. One end of the spectrum or the other and never a tempered reaction.... I could never deal with someone like her on a regular basis!
My brain just froze. It's looking like John Barroman is going to be around frequently throughout the season. Awesome. Loved Mrs. Queen's (oh wait...not her current married name) parting line to him. Finally believing she and her husband are a real couple (one of my favorite actors but I'm blanking on the character name. Sorry to see him departing. I hope it's not for too long.
Wow, by the time we hit the end of the ep I was at a point where I was doubting my ability to tell when Oliver was lying and telling the truth. I think his saving grace is going to be Diggle.
The flashbacks are the thing that's gotten me through the more mediocre eps (for me that's 2nd one.) There was a great article about the show at tvguide.com about Oliver Queen being more Dexter than Superman. That steely look in his eyes was a big topic. I was wondering if Stephen Amell could pull off a softening as he becomes less heartless. Tonight's ep settled that for me. In the previous flashback on the Island he was mostly shell shocked and tonight the contrast between Island Oliver and Arrow Oliver were very evident. Because of that contrast, the flashbacks are one of the most compelling elements of the series.
hmm. I'm not entirely sure I'm making any sense. :-)
..oliver mom is the mata hari motion protect and also betray.the side-kick cop GREAT.he keep oliver grounded in his mission to fulfill his dad death wish to clean the city of the bad guys
Amazing episode!!! Soooo good! My face was like this =O when Deathstroke walked into the tent! Also I didn't even mind his lame green makeup this time, cos he's so badass!
I'm really sorry but Katie Cassidy must leave ! Jeez, she has been on almost every show of the CW and now this ! No I'm sorry but there must be another woman who can play this role much better than her. I mean there is no real chemistry between Laurel & Oliver !
Great episode. Seeing Diggle as Arrow was awesome and I really enjoyed the flashbacks. Liked the character development for Walter and Moira - Moira's so ambiguous - I can't work her out. John Barrowman is always a pleasant surprise - and it's nice to see him play a more toned-down, sinister character. I think the only niggle I have is Laurel - she's so inconsistent that it's getting annoying.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Fantastic as always http://www.thegreenarrow.net

Seriously passive aggressive, I agree!

I like Barrowman too!
ReplyDeleteDo you or any of the comic readers know if his 'Well Dressed Man' character is named in the comics or just a well dressed mystery man?
A slight step back from previous episode, but still great to me....
ReplyDeleteI'm enjoying the flashbacks quite a bit and always wish they would last longer honestly.
"YOU HAVE FAILED THE CITY" Epic line...lol
ReplyDeleteI HEART the fight choreographer!

I'm confused now, Moira is the bad guy or not??, how was that now she wants to protect her family when she participated in the yachts sabotage??
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping that this episode is the turning point for that and it stops.
