''Merlin may have forgotten who he really is' This is exactly what I fear. Will we see Merlin denying himself right to the end - he has been living a lie for far too long!
ReplyDeleteI want to see Merlin coming out of the closet NOW. I am so fed up with the magic secret.
"the effects are as good as you'll see on American TV" really?
ReplyDeleteBit of a stretch there, especially with the effects behind shows like Game of Thrones and Walking Dead.
The Great Dragon still looks like Star Wars-era CGI to me.
They are as good as once upon a time.
ReplyDeleteAs the saying goes 'tell a lie long enough it becomes the truth'
ReplyDeleteI think cable shows have better cgi over all, but even the network shows over the pond have far, far bigger budgets . I think Merlin (and Doctor Who) manage a lot with what they have.
ReplyDeleteAnother finger-up and slap to Merlin-character supporters... 4 Gwen-showcase episodes, then another 4 Mordred-extravaganza... all for Arthur glorification. Merlin? Just a masochistic, thankless servant, nothing more. He's not even worth a change of cloth - except to be as old!Dragoon or an old!hag. The end-game? He's just an old!Merlin after all, reliving out his fantasy by disguising as a young man mindlessly pining for his beloved Arthur. Hence, not really worth any 'focused' story anyhow.
ReplyDeleteI think that Merlin really shines in this episode, he's not usually fooled easily and other characters listen to/believe him in this one.
ReplyDeleteThanks.
ReplyDeleteNonetheless, it's always FOR AND ABOUT SOMEBODY ELSE and never FOR/ABOUT MERLIN - who is plainly still a doormat/red-carpet for anyone to safely/gloriously walk on by. Just a utility.
