Holy flipping hannah! Can we just skip the few months until February? Looks like there are many more fabulous moments in 2.13 & beyond. Cannot wait to see that Nick/Renard showdown. I hope to see them working together, well, perhaps a bit reluctantly. Isn't that going to be awkward. I love awkward. ;) I'll have to think more on this preview, and then I'll have more to say.
One thing - I was delighted that we actually got a preview at all. Kudos to NBC for the juicy tidbits that will keep me (mostly) going until Feb. :)
So, it seems we will never see Renard/Juliet together. It seems Nick will interrupt them and Juliett will shot someone of them because she wears the same outfit when she's with Renard and when she's shoting someone. I'm done with this show. I'm so disappointed right now. They teased us with Renard/Juliet so much time and then nothing will be. Damn!
You know Juliette/Renard infatuation is practically drug-induced and not a result of real feelings, right? I hope we never see them go all the way at least until the magic is broken, because it would feel like a rape on both of them.
There's no official return date but since they'll want to be back for February sweeps I'd bet good money that Grimm will either return on February 1st or February 8th.
At this point, I'm willing to let Renard keep her. I really like Grimm but the writers have done so many things wrong with Juliette that severing ties between Nick and Juliette wouldn't be an issue for me at all.
I was optimistic when this show had Juliette investigating her situation on her own for a few episodes. That was a potential angle to this subplot that I liked. Once they started in with the obsession stuff any possible good to come from this storyline went out the window.
"You know Juliette/Renard infatuation is practically drug-induced and not a result of real feelings, right?" At some point, the effects of the whammy that Adalind put on Juliette will be fixed as well as that nasty concoction that Renard drank and used to wake Juliette up and they're going to look at each other and feel nothing. When the story resets like that I think it'll end up both the pro and anti factions of this storyline.
While I think you're likely right about Juliette and Renard feeling nothing for each other when the spell is broken, it's possible that afterward there may be some residual stuff going on between the two.
I think the whole point of the triangle from a writing point of view was to eventually reveal Renard to Nick, and that then changes their relationship from boss/employee to half-blood prince/Grimm - a much more equal and much more interesting relationship, at least to me. I see them working together in the future against Renard's family/Adalind/Verrat - at least that's what I'd like to see. But who knows what Renard really wants? Hopefully after they pound each other a bit, they'll have a nice, thorough chat. :)
And I'd like an explanation for the band Renard wears on his ring finger sometime, too.
I've got nothing against Juliette and Renard getting together - after the spell is lifted. It just doesn't sit well with me. Even Juliette, who's been kept in the dark, feels there's something unnatural in this fascination with Renard.
The obsession - a direct result of Adalind's spell, is clearly causing emotional distress for both of them. This is not a good beginning to any relationship.
Agree with both of you, Bruce and Moonwise. The whammy will be lifted and the obsession will be gone. Renard and Juliette don't even know each other very well. I'm not sure if Juliette's memory of Nick will ever return, just based on something I saw on the official site, but I could be wrong. After all, she's remembering going to Monroe's house, so maybe bits of memory are returning.
I also agree that this technique of the writers is meant to reveal Renard to Nick. Nick'll be pretty pissed that he's been used by Renard. Then again, they both will realize that they need each other in the fight against Adalind et al.
And I also have wondered about the ring on the left hand. Guess it was just to throw us off.
Such relationships can be in real-life without spell or something too. I had it once. It was awful .Like, REALLY awful and we couldn't blame the spell.
I'm not denying that toxic or obsessive relationships exist in real life, it's not my point at all.
I'm only talking about the show - in which we know the two characters are heavily influenced by Adalind's magic to the point of not being able to control their behaviour.
Lisa, the show will more than likely be back in February. All networks make sure to broadcast as many new episodes of their programs as possible for sweeps months (November, February, May). It has been that way for decades. The big ratings push by the networks during these months is because the ratings info during this time is used to determine advertising sales rates. Better ratings equal higher ad dollars for the networks.
"I think the whole point of the triangle from a writing point of view was to eventually reveal Renard to Nick" Well, that's not the whole point. They also needed a storyline for Juliette. With her not being in on Nick's other job, the storyline options for her character are limited. :)
Sh*t's going DOWN when this comes back! I'm glad the Renard thing is out of the bag, though we still don't know if Nick knows what/who he is. I can't wait to see where this is going!
Does anybody know the reason for this HUGE hiatus? I mean, it's different. It's big, and they wrote at the end of the last episode "to be continued... sorry". Is there a particular reason that I'm not aware of?
But if wesen truly discovered the way to induced feelings, then the Verrat would be out of job (there would be NO mixed pairing) by now. Nick lost his girlfriend all on his own.
I almost wish Juliette and Captain could stick together. The characters are stronger as an item than they have ever been on their own. Alas, she's just the prize girlfriend and I just know the Grimm will get her back, despite the Prince is a better man.
I very much doubt that they will feel nothing after the spell is broken. I think as they spend time together they are developing a relationship. Unless Juliette gets a second memory wipe she is now very familiar with Renard. Besides, how do you know that the spell didn't just push them towards some real feelings they may have had but simply never acted on. If all they wanted was to reveal Renard there are tons of much simpler ways they could have done that around the key. Without Juliette.
What I want to know is why did Monroe drop about twenty IQ points and forgett to tell Nick that Renard is bespelled as well as Juliette, and they were in his shop trying to break their romance? He sure spilled the beans on everything except that one rather important point. And why is Nick going crazy? He doesn't own Juliette or anything. He doesn't have a spell put on him, so he doesn't really have the right to act like an ass just because she loves someone else for any reason.
Not really. We have no idea how much of it is the spell and how much of it is them. All we know is that the spell is the catalyst. For all we know they would be perfect for each other even without the spell, and now they know it.
Except it isn't against their will. Think about how attraction happens in real life. Its all due to chemistry. We have no control over who we are attracted to even without a spell. Its a FAR FAR cry from rape.
I agree. I think that Renard and Juliette having sex would be completely fine. Its not even a teeny bit like a rape. People are attracted to other people because of chemistry anyhow, and no one has control over who they are attracted to. If people had that control, no one would ever cheat. You would just force yourself to be attracted to your spouse. Rape is when consent isn't given. Renard and juliette are consenting to the sex, even though they may not want the attraction. NO one can control attraction anyhow.
If they just wanted to reveal what Renard is the key alone is a good catalyst. they din't need to do any of this with Juliette. They obviously mean something else by it. And who says you need to know someone very well to be in love with them? If that was the case no one would ever fall in love because all relationships start at some point, and if you bailed on people at the first sign of trouble because you don't know them well, you would never get to a long term relationship. So at this point I wopuld say Renard and Juliette might well have discovered they care for each other a great deal.
Which handsome cop with a secret life will she choose? My feeling about Juliette is that she longs for a man she can settle down with and have a normal life. What remains to be seen is whether or not she will finally accept the truth about a world of creatures that most people cannot see, and whether she will want to involve herself in the inherent dangers once she comes to believe. If she decides not, then she might as walk about from both men.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Holy Mother of F bombs!!!!!!!

OMG! So epic! Doe anyone know the exact date it returns in 2013?

No,it's not. I sholdn't think writers could be so dare.

How do you know they wouldn't feel anything then? Are you one of the writers ?
ReplyDeleteSimple cause and effect.
ReplyDeleteSo ,you don't know.
ReplyDeletewow mind blowing promo!

Do you know what rape is? You are a bunch sick people Do you know what you talk about? It's insulting for the real rape victims.
ReplyDeleteWoot woot, i love it. It's gettin' better and better
ReplyDeleteYay, Rosalee is back!! I hope they keep her wearing cardigans even if Bree isn't pregnant anymore.
ReplyDeleteYes, I do, but you should definitely check your dictionary.
ReplyDeleteSeason 2 was very good. Waiting for the next
ReplyDeleteSuch relationships can be in real-life without spell or something too. I had it once. It was awful .Like, REALLY awful and we couldn't blame the spell.
ReplyDeleteStill Season 2. The second half starts in February.
ReplyDeleteI'm not denying that toxic or obsessive relationships exist in real life, it's not my point at all.

ReplyDeleteThe only thing I can think of is that they started really early so they have to spread it out more.
ReplyDeleteI just wish Renard and Juliette could make it past the big reveal. Ever since Lost, I haven't seen a pairing so compelling.
ReplyDeleteOk. The memory loss? Totally drug induced.
ReplyDeleteBut if wesen truly discovered the way to induced feelings, then the Verrat would be out of job (there would be NO mixed pairing) by now. Nick lost his girlfriend all on his own.

ReplyDeleteHow can there be NO OFFICIAL DATE? Isn't that sort of wrong to do to people watching the show? I really don't know how I feel about that.
ReplyDeleteI posted that months ago. It's old info or, more specifically, a lack there of. The official return date for Grimm is March 8th.
