@susangittins i work at The CW, and this info is not correct.#EmilyOwensMD has not been cancelled.

It appears that the show has been cancelled. More news here shortly.
Sad news today. Vancouver-shot #EmilyOwensMD cancelled. A charming show that got lost in Fall launch.

Okay, where's the source?
ReplyDeleteNever saw this show but I've heard some people saying they were enjoying it...... Sad it got cancelled!!!!
ReplyDeleteThis is only the second CW scripted show to get the plug pulled early, joining TBL: The Beautiful Life for that dubious honor. Yikes.
ReplyDeleteBring on "The Selection"
ReplyDeleteThey haven't even reshot the pilot yet, have they?
ReplyDeletethey could always give it a straight to series short order 8 episodes or something
ReplyDeleteNever watched it or had any plan to watch it.
ReplyDeleteWow, I'm sorry for those who liked that show but now I am happy because Justin Hartley can do something that I'll actually watch. Silver lining people.
ReplyDeleteSorry for the people who enjoyed it..
ReplyDeleteNext...
ReplyDeleteit might be just a non back 9 will be ordered rather than pulled
ReplyDelete@google-c4719a528c82b0798979dbd2aad7929c:disqus The Networks are normally the last ones to announce any cancellations
ReplyDeleteI suppose they could but they'd have to fast-track the hell out of it and the cast and crew probably wouldn't have much of a holiday break to speak of.
ReplyDeleteI feel the same way about Mamie Gummer.
ReplyDeleteEven so, for The CW to make a decision on a show before its production order has run its course is a rare occurrence in its own right.
ReplyDeletethey had to decide now they were almost done with the 13 episodes needed to start working on episode 14, it premiered late and was filming on schedule
ReplyDeleteThis was a million times better than Hart of Dixie. :(
ReplyDeletei guess 666 and partners and maybe Last Resort could be canned VERY soon
ReplyDeletewhy is that?
ReplyDeleteBecause it normally leaks out before they make a formal announcement
ReplyDeleteplus it isnt exactly something they are proud to announce they would rather in not get that much media attention
ReplyDeleteI saw this one coming. Never watched the show but the promos didn't make it look very exciting.
ReplyDeleteI feel bad because my response is a really long list of shows Justin Hartley should join instead.
ReplyDeleteGotta disagree with you there. :) It was virtually unwatchable for me. Anytime they'd do the voiceover "don't do [blank]" that she was totally gonna do in the most cringeworthy way possible I hit mute or turned the channel for a few minutes.
ReplyDelete=( I was enjoying it!
ReplyDeleteNot
ReplyDeleteOh, I didn't know they were that far along. I suppose they could have waited but that would have pushed production back 'til after the holidays and it would have given the show a late start, which would have killed the show anyway. So, things being what they are, I can understand why they did this now.
ReplyDeleteSo what do they put in its place?
ReplyDelete666 Park Ave. is a great thriller. I hope is sticks around because I'm stuck on it.
ReplyDeleteahh i really hope 666 par avenue will make it please abc dont can 666
ReplyDeleterest in peace emily owens md
ReplyDeleteThey'll most likely burn off the rest of the episodes and then probably reruns of some other show until after the winter break. After that, I don't know.
ReplyDeleteBeauty will move and Cult will premiere after VD and Top Model is a summer show now. Also, theyre not going to premiere a new show on fri
ReplyDeleteI hope not! I'm really enjoying 666.
ReplyDeleteI thought they already announced that ANTM would have another season this year. While I think you're right about the switch, moving Beauty to Tuesday will probably mean that there will only be one season for that show as well, it rides along on the TVD numbers, but picking up after HoD (love that show btw) does not mean good things for this newbie show, especially since everyone already assumed Beauty was not going to succeed, again, it only got a full season because of TVD's lead
ReplyDeleteReports being disputed here https://twitter.com/wittz_end/status/268781842214301696 and here https://twitter.com/bristei/status/268787391429496832 The second is a report from a CW spokesman. So who knows.
ReplyDeleteTop Model was renewed for cycle 20 but it will air this summer instead of spring, just like cycle 19.I love Hart too and hopefully will rub off on Beauty
ReplyDeleteAh ok... didn't know that. Anyway, Hart's ratings are not that great sadly, so let's not hope it will rub off those ratings onto Beauty =P
ReplyDeleteHere's an update Andy. Looks like it's not cancelled after all.
ReplyDeletehttp://tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/2012/11/14/emily-owens-m-d-production-continues-the-show-is-not-canceled/157683/?utm_campaign=WP%20%3E%20Twitter&utm_medium=twitter&utm_source=twitter
sorry to say that the show has not been Cancelled Yet a CW REp just told Tvbythenumbers that it has not been cancelled yet and denied it been cancelled and said that if sources bothered to call him he would have confirmed its not but i am sure it still will be cancelled just not til they air the 13 episodes here's what CW. Publicity executive Paul Hewitt said It has not been shut down. If anyone had bothered to call me, I would have told them that here's the link to the updated post http://tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/2012/11/14/emily-owens-m-d-production-continues-the-show-is-not-canceled/157683/

hmm well I wouldn't be too surprised if it was true but CW does tend to stick with its messes for a season at least
ReplyDeleteHarts ratings arent great but they are stable at 0.5_0.6+2 0.7 now, hopefully that stability rubs off on Beauty.
ReplyDeleteI don't think is a bad show, I don't like hospital shows that's why I don't watch it, but the little pieces I've seen, seem funny I hope The CW gives it a chance.
ReplyDeletewell it will be either by mid season or at the end of the season
ReplyDeleteHonestly I think the CW would rather air as many hours of original content no matter how low rated it may be.
ReplyDeleteBeauty's ratings this season
ReplyDelete1.2
0.7
0.6
0.6
0.7
about as stable as HOD at the moment
Personally I think they would work welll together
I expect 666 to be cancelled by mid season
ReplyDelete..this show really..SUCKS..why keep a program his episodes are so laim and poor
ReplyDeleteIf you like shows about people (as opposed to the endless cop/detective/legal shows and vampire/zombie/horror shows), you're missing something fairly decent.
ReplyDeleteIt's my favorite of the new shows this season.
I'm glad it's not cancelled, but I'm worried.
Nice reason! I don't like hospital shows too!
ReplyDeleteUh..well.. except for Doctor Sexy M.D maybe?
LMAO, no.
ReplyDeleteI start watching this show with no hope, but was a very nice surprise, i enjoy it.
ReplyDeleteWhile Susan may have been premature in saying it, I wont be shocked if CW formally does this in the next month.
ReplyDeleteit will probably get cancelled, but it's the CW, so anything could happen.
