Ben & Kate - Season 1 - Showrunners "leave" the show
11 Nov 2012
Cancelled ShowsThere's a change at the top of FOX's Ben and Kate.
John Quaintance and David Feeney have been upped to co-showrunners of the freshman comedy.
The duo replaces former showrunners Garrett Donovan and Neil Goldman (Community), who exited the modestly rated series from creator/executive producer Dana Fox last month, citing "creative differences" (yeah, right). For their part, Donovan and Goldman recently inked a two-year overall deal with Ben and Kate studio 20th Century Fox Television.
FOX picked up Ben and Kate, starring Dakota Johnson and Nat Faxon, for a reduced full-season of 19 episodes. The rookie series airs on Tuesdays after Raising Hope at 8:30 pm.
THR.
FYI : John Quaintance's résumé includes W(S ?)hitney, Perfect Couples and Joey. David Feeney's résumé includes 2 Broke Girls, Love Bites and According to Jim.
On the other hand, Garrett 'Crisis alert' Donovan and Neil 'Fat Neil' Goldman have worked on Community, Scrubs and Family Guy.
So yeah, bummer.

Well this sucks, I have been loving the show so far but those new showrunners don't seem good to me. First Up All Night gets messed around now this, I despair.
ReplyDeleteWell, since one of the new co-showrunners wrote the 4th episode, which was by far the best right after the pilot, I´m not worried...
ReplyDeleteNever really was into this show, but this show is a good as dead based on the ratings.Almost sad, because it kind of fits with Raising Hope.
ReplyDeletelikely to be cancelled at the end of its 19 episode run anyway
ReplyDeleteWell that makes me feel slightly better, I did love that ep.
