Haven has the advantage of only being co-produced by Syfy. Showcase in Canada shares the cost of the show so it's not as much of an investment for the network.
It seems like Syfy is going the cheap route lately and buying broadcast rights to other people's shows instead of producing their own. Haven, along with Lost Girl, Merlin, Continuum, and Primeval: New World completes a lineup of imported Syfy dramas that now outnumber Syfy-produced dramas, of which there are now only three.
First Syfy passes on Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chrome as a series and now they might cancel my Alphas. Oh hell to no. Syfy needs to get it together and recognize a great show like Alphas and renew it.
How did season 2 do ratings-wise? I didn't think it had great audience numbers which is probably why SyFy haven't made their minds up yet. I was a bit unsure about the show in season 1 but thought that season 2 was really good, I would like to see where they go in season 3.
NO!!!They have to renew it! I'm not into sci fi that much but this so is so good! The ratings were good so why not renew already? And that cliffhanger!!
Please, please don't cancel "Alphas"!!!! It is one of few shows I watch at all, and love it. Many of us do. It's bad enough Eureka was cancelled. Syfy is getting worse and worse about promoting and encouraging good sci-fi shows.
I dont get it when i was at school a series would begin and then it would last for 5+ years nowadays a great series like Alphas begins and after just 2 series its said to be a maybe on doing series 3... come on give us at least one reason to turn on the tv. if syfy starts getting rid of great shows like this then all that will be left is those damn reality shows that are ridiculous. I need a bit of escapism and alpha's the best ive seen in ages.
Syfy... only to make sy-trashes movies... stop cancel GOOD series to make this trashes movies. You did this to Caprica making all stories confused, turned Blood and Chrome into a little webepisodes, killing all history about BSG (im going to be crazy with re imagined Battlestar Galactica timeline) . You canceled Eureka for nothing, now doing this with alphas???? WHERE IS YOUR "SYFY GAME CHANGE"???? maybe in a black hole or.... in some light-years from its programming series
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
I'm worried that the renewal of Haven was the last nail in the Alphas coffin.
ReplyDeleteHopefully I am wrong.
Wait a bleeping minute! When was Alphas ever in trouble of getting canceled upon?!
ReplyDeleteI recently got caught up on the show and Googled when S3 would be starting only to find out that there may not be a S3. It was a sad day.
