Noooooooooooooooooooo, even though I was expecting 666 Park Avenue to get cancelled.
ReplyDeleteI've lost two shows today. Rude.
Very sad :(
ReplyDeleteLast Resort Nooo :( very sad, one of my fave shows and defo best new show imo
ReplyDeleteABC's Thursday at 8pm slot hasn't had a hit since Ugly Betty....right? So sad.
ReplyDeleteOMFG just can't believe, two of my favorites of the fall, i was expecting that already but wow
ReplyDeleteBoo! While I did give up on 666 Park Avenue (I kept falling asleep during the episodes), Last Resort really started to grow on me. Besides, Shawn Ryan is a fantastic writer, and deserves a successful show.
ReplyDeleteSo bummed about Park Avenue...debating if I should stick it out now :/
ReplyDeleteNo!!
ReplyDeleteI just started watching "Last Resort" a few days ago (already at episode 4) and I've been enjoying it a lot. What a bummer. I hope it gets proper closure... I'll consider it a mini-series like last year's "Missing".
Very Rude, ABC!
ReplyDeleteThis year is going to have a new record of shows which have not made it until the end of their initial first run of episodes! Really wonder why the networks still buy new shows when they cancel almost every single one of them after a few weeks?
ReplyDeleteNo!!! ABC cancelled my favorite new shows, specially 666 Park Ave. It was an excellent series!
ReplyDeleteJust hoping ABC don't put Red Widow on the Last Resort, seems like another great new show and im gonna be really mad if it goes to the 8pm death slot
ReplyDeleteThis SUCKS! Have they cancelled that Alien neighbor program yet? if not, then it's a frickin' travesty.
ReplyDeleteI know the ratings were low but its still sad to hear that news. I love Last Resort its my new favorite show. This Thursday 8pm slot seems to bring bad luck.
ReplyDeleteAaaaand boom goes the dynamite. I guess this answers the poll question from earlier today.
ReplyDeleteI agree. It does seem to be this year's Missing so it might go there. ALTHOUGH, I'd argue the post-Revenge slot would be a lot more fitting for Red Widow. The two shows might be pretty compatible.
ReplyDeleteAny word on if these cancelations are immediate or if they will continue to burn off the remaining episodes?
I don´t mind 666, but I really like Last Resort :(
ReplyDeletei think abc will show the remaining until mid-season just to fill the slot
ReplyDeletei agree! ABC has made some screwy decisions by ordering more of The Neighbors and cancelling some actually good dramas.
ReplyDeleteMotherfuckers ! Why would they cancel the best new drama of the season (Last Resort, obviously) ?
ReplyDeleteI know live ratings weren't great, but DVR numbers were very good, and the show had great reviews. And come on, Shawn Ryan ? You want to have that guy working for you ! So sad, hopefully they will finish shooting all 13 episodes and wrap it up decently.
I assumed ABC would keep at least one show alive between the two, and I thought Last Resort had a head start over 666, so now I'm pissed.
Putting a serialized, male-skewing drama like Last Resort on Thursdays at 8pm before Shonda Rhimes shows was just a stupidly bad decision to begin with. This show belonged to 10pm.
Fuck, it had almost been a great fall season all around : Nashville, Vegas, Arrow, Revolution, Go On and Ben & Kate got full seasons, Hunted will return in a revamped version of the show... and Last Resort is cancelled now, it just doesn't sound right.
Hopefully the Beverly Hills Cop series in the works at CBS doesn't go past pilot stage, allowing Shawn Ryan to go work where he belongs : on FX (or he could go to AMC, Showtime, Starz, HBO, etc, but some place where quality is valued more than ratings (yeah, I know what FX did to Terriers, but The Shield lived for 7 beautiful years without having extraordinary ratings).
On Danish TV, we're only 2 episodes of "Last Resort" in, so I never got to get really into this show, so I'll just stop watching from now on. It is a bummer though, because it did look promising, even if I've heard from other it needed to pick up the speed, which is probably why it got cancelled amongst other deeper reasons. Oh well, glad I now know it's cancelled and is saved from getting all into it and the disappointment in the long run. *sighs*
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, ABC is not a charity, and they'll do what's in the best interests of their business. However with these two being canceled, I'd say that others that aren't doing so well this season compared to last might get a reprieve
ReplyDeleteHollywood Reporter reports that all thirteen episodes of both show will air: http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/last-resort-canceled-666-park-avenue-391442
ReplyDeleteDammit! Last resort was a amazing serie and should have been at the cable tv...
ReplyDeleteGoddamn it! What did they expect at the 8 pm timeslot before greys? I was doomed to fail from the start in that time slot. Such a she since last resort was such an excellent show. :-(
ReplyDeleteNoooooooooooooooooooooooooooo, 666 is life :(
ReplyDeleteThere still gonna be 13 episodes, right????
ReplyDeleteNO!Last Resort is such an amazing show! : (
ReplyDeleteFrom now on I'll be waiting for a show to get a full season before I start watching.
Damnittothell!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI think ABC should just give the 8pm slot to Wipeout ONLY, and on the midseason put Red Widow or Zero Hour on Sunday's 666 slot, maybe works, don't even gonna mention Mistresses because looks like crap and will flop when the pilot airs
ReplyDeleteactually, yes
ReplyDeletesame i really liked Sunday nights, three ABC shows i really enjoyed back to back. I wonder what will replace it? Body of Proof??? Or Zero Hour? I like the idea of BOP on Thursday but I have a feeling it will be on Tuesdays. I have a feeling that Don't Trust the B is going to get cancelled too, the ratings and total viewers are very poor.
ReplyDeleteCan't say I'm surprised - Last Resort was awful. Made no sense and the characters, apart from Chaplin, were so bloody boring.
ReplyDeleteCan't speak for 666... though.
exactly it may have a lot of do with the over cost to produce the show, like Last Resort has some expensive actors. This is the same argument Jimmy and I have in regards to Castle getting the green light for next year, essentially the show slides by because the over cost to produce it is a lot less versus other shows.
ReplyDeletemaybe ABC should try Shark Tank at 8pm Thursday
ReplyDeletemaybe they should, Shark Tank is doing incredible on Fridays, maybe gets even more ratings on Thursdays
ReplyDeleteSad news, I was enjoying both shows.
ReplyDeleteThe Neighbours rates higher than both 666 and LR but should still be cancelled at the end of the season
ReplyDeleteThe main issue is they keep putting shows up against TBBT which, for whatever reason, pulls huge numbers.
ReplyDeleteI think Body of Proof will most likely end up getting cancelled, tbh. It barely escaped cancellation the past two years.
ReplyDeleteI like The Neighbors, but I honestly don't think it'll go longer than this season, tbh.
ReplyDeleteum because networks dont have the power to see into the future and know if a show will be liked by the TV viewing public?! They order shows and put them on the air and hope they are ratings hits and when they aren't they cancel them. Businesses usually pull products that no one wants to buy, same with TV shows that nobody watches.
ReplyDeleteThat sucks. Hopefully there's at least some kind of resolution in Last Resort. I kinda dropped 666 Park Ave but it was interesting and much better than most of the other new shows of the season.
ReplyDeleteOh yes probably but they still will air the episodes that they shot. Although they did do some changes in the format of the show.
ReplyDeleteit was more a rhetorical question. I know that it works like that, it is just really annoying that they keep cancelling shows after 6 or 7 episodes, often critics already let everyone know (in May) which pilots will work and what won't and most of the time they are right. Luckily I chose the few new shows that are still left on the schedule, but I get that people are upset when yet another new show gets cancelled while it did not get a proper chance to succeed.
ReplyDeleteOmg I REALLY liked 666 Park Avenue. I didn't pay attention to the ratings...but the good one always get cancelled so i should have known.
ReplyDeleteEven if I'm really sad, it's understanding because ABC has a lot of series in reserve...
ReplyDeleteThis is sad I like both tv show :(
ReplyDeleteI really liked Last Resort and I slowly got into 666. LR had no chance in this timeslot. Maybe it would have done better in another timeslot but we'll never know now.
ReplyDeleteYea, the critics would have cancelled certain shows after 2 or 3 episodes,,,
ReplyDeleteAt least ABC is showing all 13 episodes. CBS is immediately pulling Partners and won't show the remaining episodes!
ReplyDeleteQuote from TV by the numbers:
ReplyDelete"The only surprise here is that Mob Doctor outlived them both."
Totally agree :) and glad that I didn't start watching these shows. Last season's cancellations taught me very painfull lesson not to watch the show until checking raitings
LMAO I remember I got voted down when I said Last Resort and 666 were certain to be cancelled.
ReplyDelete13 episodes will air but then it's over for good
ReplyDeleteFrankly not surprising.
ReplyDelete666 Park Avenue had a BRILLIANT idea, but was foiled by mediocre and formulaic execution and bad writing. Hopefully one day someone does the same idea but with actual good quality writers this time.
Haha, I had to giggle that someone has voted you down for this comment (it wasn't me)
ReplyDeleteRed Widow apparently is getting good reviews so it may survive in a not so competitive timeslot.
ReplyDeleteAch! Both enjoyable shows. I'm a couple of eps behind on both. Does anybody know if these 13th episodes have already been filmed? In other words, will they get some kind of proper ending, or will they be left unfinished, or on a cliffhanger? The answer to this question will determine whether or not I bother watching the rest of them.
ReplyDeleteCW shows (TVD?) were beating Last Resort in the ratings, so it wasn't a good sign.
ReplyDeleteNo! Last resort! 666 Park Avenue dont care didnt like it
ReplyDeleteBummer for Last Resort. :(
ReplyDeleteMAJOR bummage for both shows. I was enjoying 666PA a lot and for me Last Resort was the best new drama of the season. Problem for LR is that any show that has to go up against BBT/TaHM is going to have a very tough go of it. I at least hope that there will be something resembling closure in ep 13...... very sad.
ReplyDeleteI'd have to agree. It seems that a reality show might do well enough against the CBS block and doesn't cost much to make...
ReplyDeleteThat's predictable..... sad for Last Resort
ReplyDeleteI know rite??? there was never a boring ep, I am tired of these networks making stupid descions.
ReplyDeleteI disagree about blaming a time slot. But I've said it before, so I didn't repeat myself here.
ReplyDeleteIn some ways it's a self-fulfilling prophecy. If enough critics decide a show is terrible, people don't give it a chance and networks freak before it ever has a shot.
ReplyDeleteToo bad,I like both shows, specially 666 Park Avenue, that is really intriguing.
ReplyDeleteThat is sad but predictable! Last Resort was just getting good into the conspiracy.
ReplyDeleteOH NO! Aww, this sucks big time! Both were great shows... :(
ReplyDeleteWell they are critics for a reason. However what the critics like and what the mainstream public likes differ.
ReplyDeleteouch!
ReplyDeleteThey failed to make it as screenwriters?
ReplyDelete:)
***** R.I.P. ***** 666 Park Av ****** Last Resort ****** ....We Loved You..... :-(
ReplyDeletei think they'll replace Body Of Proof with Private Practice's current timeslot.
ReplyDeleteit would absolutely be dead from the start if ABC decides to air this show on thursdays, especially against tbbh and 2 and a half men.
Nooooooooooooooooo, why cancel this both greatest drama in the world!!And i was expecting 666 Park Avenue will be renewed in next season and Last Resort too.and I've also lost two shows today. That's not fair,ABC!!!!!!!!!!:(
ReplyDeletevery sad. i've really been enjoying 666 park ave, sad to see it go :(
ReplyDeleteBad about 666 Park Avenue it was a great show with a very promising mastery and most importantly with a great cast.
ReplyDeleteI gave Last Resort a chance, but since my plate was very full I dropped it after the 4th or 5th episode.
ReplyDeleteABC Sucks! How could they!!!!
ReplyDeleteThis is Vanessa Williams, for God's Sake!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat TV Shows are gone today. RIP ! :(
ReplyDeleteWell, I suppose this was coming. I gave Last Resort a try but what with the ratings falling and such, I didn't continue with it because I HATE investing time in a show that's relatively sure to be cancelled anyway. (And my watching or not doesn't contribute one bit cause I don't live in the US.)
ReplyDeleteNoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
ReplyDeleteTHIS IS ABSOLUTE B***SH**. I am getting very tired of watching new shows and bammmm they are gone. How can some of the crap on TV survive while some shows get the ax??? I have to vent so please forgive me in advance if I hate on anyone's show...... these shows are great....and I am so pissed right now .....I think my new rule going forward is I will not watch any new shows ever again. I will stick to my old ones and reruns....the Networks don't seem to give a damn about TV watchers over 45....excuse me but adults pay the cable bill not teenyboppers.
ReplyDeleteRevenge ......a freaking soap opera......ahhhhh Two Broke Girls .....and Two and Half Men TWO STUPID SHOWS
Why 666 was finally going somewhere different ugh... this is annoying
ReplyDeleteJust because they cancelled your shows, there is no need to throw crap at other shows people like. Besides, if anything you have to blame the lack of an audience or viewers and not the "network honchos". As sad as it is, TV is a business and not charity and they just can't keep something that isn't doing well...especially two shows that are expensive. I know it's frustrating, but it's really up to the viewers to make the show last....if there's a big audience then it will continue.
ReplyDeleteLike this page and help save it! https://www.facebook.com/save666parkavenue There's still hope! If the new shows Red Widow and Zero Hour perform worse, there's chance 666 Park Ave toe return next fall. Also, another TV may buy it. Don't give up on it yet!
ReplyDeleteI feel sorry for the actors and crew but must say I expected this way sooner. Last Resort was so bad, I gave up after the first 30 minutes. And the Pilot of 666 was one of the worst in a long time. Even though the show got a lot better later on, I'm sure many never watched again after the Pilot.
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion no loss at all. Seems that this season is really tough, not just for the new shows. But every other show suffers in the ratings. No idea why that is.
As a Nikita fan, I feel a certain kinship with Last Resort fans – the whole “original, intelligent show that gets a crappy timeslot and tanks in the ratings” thing – and am sorry to see it go. I’ve only seen the first 2 episodes of LR, but was planning to catch up eventually.
ReplyDeleteBut alas, there’s nothing new in TV land. Lowest-common-denominator crap like Season 57 of Grey’s Anatomy or reality shows will keep getting high ratings, while shows of actual quality will be ignored by viewers and get the axe. Sigh. I’m thanking my lucky stars that Nikita has survived this long despite its ratings, but alas, LR couldn’t do the same.
Yaeh it was so good...i'm so disappointed.
ReplyDeleteDamn. 666 Park Avenue was my favorite new show of the season. At least ABC will be airing all the episodes.
ReplyDeleteI hope Zero Hour airs in 666's slot, it looks cool and I am gonna feel lost on Sundays.
ReplyDeleteYou've got to be kidding about Last Resort. The show has a great team working great together. From the creator to the writers and actors. This was the ONLY show I looked forward to watching on Thursday nights during that time slot.
ReplyDelete@twitter-261841426:disqus Yep, it's a real shame :(
ReplyDeleteI am hurt. and teary eyed rite now. I am going to watch over the vid of GRACE and JAMES. I will always love LAST RESORT
ReplyDeletenot fair
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately it was canceled, so sad : - (
ReplyDeleteCan't believe it!! I love 666PA, such a great show! So is Last Resort. :(
ReplyDeleteI've read that there is a trend of shows with "anti-heros" like Scandal on ABC, etc.
ReplyDeleteOn the critics thing, you see people somewhat backhandedly talk about certain shows they consider "low brow" by calling it "popcorn tv" or "it's so bad, it's good" or "it's good for network tv " etc.
Copied from neogaf thread:
ReplyDelete"If a US network can just have one mega-hit like LOST, that pays for a dozen failed serials that couldn't be LOST. So executives would rather search out mega-hits than confine themselves to short-run shows. Better to look for diamonds than just mine coal."
I liked both of these shows a lot... really don't get how they can be cancelled while complete crap is still airing. I hope the respective show creators allowed for this possibility (given the cut throat nature of networks) in their stories though so we're not left hanging after the 13 episodes.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately getting cancelled has nothing to do with the quality of a show. It's based purely on ratings. Many good shows have been cancelled
ReplyDeleteYeah.. the trick is getting more people to realize the quality and watch it to improve ratings, but some of the best shows get no love from their networks and then they wonder why the ratings tank.
ReplyDeleteNOOOOOOOOOOOOO just as it was FINALLY getting really good!!!!
ReplyDelete
