  1. Oh, Sam. I think it's hilarious you think you're going to get a normal life so soon. It's not gonna happen, and if it does, you and Dean will retire at the end of the series. (Please survive.)

    I'm looking forward to this!

  2. Dean's patience and understanding has finally stretched so thin... it's painful to watch being so resigned and having given up on hope and his own humanity.

  3. I hope all this will culminate in a long awesome arc of profound brotherly love. Because the writers are really starving us - it's like eating air. They keep telling us it's all about the brothers, but they haven't shown it since Swan Song.

  4. i remember when Dean was in normal life and sam was all like aye man i don't think this suits u, ya so look at this monster i found its a baby come help me man.

  5. Yes, but that was Soulless Sam. If it had been real Sam, I'm pretty sure he would have done everything in his power to try and make it so Dean could stay in his normal, sane, apple pie life.

  6. I think the only heartache in all of this is my own.

This was once a show about two brothers, their family and most important of all their profound bond and love for each another, that love causing each one to make the supreme sacrifice for the other's well-being.
    X
It filled one's heart with empathy just to watch them struggle together against evil, having nothing more but their wits and their father's journal to depend on; trying to defy Fate which seemed to have singled them out for the most unpleasent of destinies we can imagine.
However even when they were at odds with one another, that affection was always present
    X
People who don't like the show can laugh and mock the brothers' unique love for one another but that co-dependency and "no chick-flick moments" fondness, that united them, was the heart and soul of the show.
    X
Now Supernatural has lost that heart, as we are presented with an ensemble cast which have taken over from the brothers, relegating them to extras in their own show, and causing the Winchesters to be completely superfluous.
    X
Castiel, Benny and Kevin could get along fine without either of the brothers and perhaps that is the end game. The Winchesters retire and leave the show to the new foursome, An angel, a reformed vampire, a teen genius and Crowley as the enemy to beat.

    I know I sound bitter, that's because I am.

  7. The problem is when you go out and create 'brother type' relationships for Dean it is bound to eat away at the genuine brothers relationship. Amelia might be many things but she will never be like a 'brother' to Sam. The constant tension is becoming counter-productive as well.

  8. While I understand how/why Sam might be feeling like this its obviously not going to happen and I think Sam knows it too, but he's cought between the two worlds. Everytime hunting gets him down he's clearly going to be wanting to go back to his normal life. Dean went through the same thing in season 6. In episode 5 he was preparing to leave soulless Sam and go back to his much simpler life with Lisa and Ben. I have no doubt he would have one so if the whole vampire incident hadnt happened.
There needs to be a compromise with the whole normal/hunting life. This storyline cant end the same way as the Lisa/Ben one. I wonder if the writers plan on having Sam be the one to finaly get his girl and continue to be a hunter, the only way I see this working is if Amelia is brought more into the fray.
This is Dean's season 6 storyline but hopefully with a better outcome.
All I can say is while Sam's heart might not be in the game his head clearly is, he might be struggling with what he wants but at least he's actually giving the hunt his all.

  9. As I see it, the writers in meddling with the core of the show which is/was the brothers' original relationship, are putting the whole show off-course altogether.

There was no need to ruin that by making Dean bond with others, in order to make the show more "mature".
As for Amelia, she seems to have turned out to be the most unsympathetic woman on the planet. That might change in the future, I don't know, but the thing is that I don't care about her at all, just as I don't care about Benny or Castiel for that matter
Perhaps I'm the only one who feels like that, I don't know.

If you remember "Heart " back in season two, we only got to see Madison for that one short episode but still we mourned her death at the hands of Sam.
I'm sure there wasn't a dry eye in the house, and we also felt for Dean who stood by helpless as his brother pulled the trigger.
What I'm trying to say is that although she was only a guest star I could empathise with her, as I did with Sarah and Jess herself. This Amelia person to me is completely unsympathetic and not the woman I would ever want Sam to settle down with.
Then SNP isn't a show about settling down and having a suburban home-life, it's a story about two brothers fighting evil.
They are a team, like Sherlock and Watson, Batman and Robin, Starsky and Hutch, the Hardy Boys, etc, ; we can even throw in Tom and Jerry and Mario and Luigi if we want to go lighter.
Nobody ever thought of splitting them up and making them bond with others, and they have been written millions of times.

  10. how can you say she is unsympathetic when you admit you havent seen either of the teo episodes? you cant hate something until youve seen it

  11. according to spoilers Amelia was screwed up and going through some stuff/loss of her own when she and Sam met which would be the most likely explanation for her reactions during the flashbacks. Its a bit unfair to judge her without knowing her, for all we know next week we could learn her whole family had been butchered the week before she met Sam and she was just projecting her pain on Sam?

  12. Dean was reluctant to go help Sam in fact I think he initially said no, he also wanted to go back to his normal life in episode 5 before the vampire incident, he even spoke to Lisa to tell her he was coming back and he wasnt impling it was just for a visit.

  13. yea i know, i was just kinda lightly comparing the first few episodes with this seasons first few. no more then past episode 3

  14. I might not have seen the actual episode but I have documented myself as much as is possible and she hasn't come over as being very sympathetic. I did say that it could change in the future.
However I am just not interested in the Amelia/dog story-line at all.
I never said I hated her but that she was unsympathic.

  15. A picnic in the park. Does this remind any one else of Dean's dream of him and Lisa having a picnic?

  16. Hmmm interesting, I was hoping that they would wrap up the storyline quickly but it looks like this might be a sort of stand alone episode?
