Supernatural - 8.04 - Bitten - Podcast

28 Oct 2012

It's the newest edition of the Team Winchester podcast and this time Lilith and I completely agree....this episode sucked out loud. I gave it an F but Lilith thought it was partly saved by the brother moment in the restaurant. We know many people enjoyed it so we encourage you to share your opinions in the comments section.

Also we are looking for audio submissions of 3 minutes or less telling us why you love Bobby, Crowley, and/or Cas. These will be used in our character-centric podcasts over the winter hellatus. We'd love to hear your favorite lines/scenes/episodes for these characters too. If you are a Cas fan, we still need a couple people to guest on episodes that feature him. You can send any audio files and comments to teamwinchesterpod@gmail.com. Thanks for listening!

Disclaimer - As always the opinions on this podcast are merely Lilith and/or Dahne's opinions. They do not reflect the fandom as a whole or SpoilerTV.

  1. I absolutely hated this episode. I found it boring with unsympathetic and uninteresting characters, badly paced, badly shot, badly written, and with a plot more suited to Gossip Girl than Supernatural (minus the werewolf part). I know people had different reactions so sound off below.

  2. I was prepared for this episode. I felt that if this hadn't been an episode of Supernatural it would have been okay. I didn't mind the kids. Yes, I could see Brian going bad a mile away because heaven forbid the short, cute smart kid not be and evil seed. Kate was an idiot for defending Michael once she found out about him eating people. But it moved pretty well for me, so if it had been part of an anthology, I might have liked it.

As an episode of Supernatural the changes to canon about werewolves and the lack of Sam an Dean were not good. I was totally confused as to the new rules on 4th generation from purebred. Does that mean Alpha, 1st gen, 2nd gen, 3rd gen and 4th gen can control themselves and the rest can't? And why didn't they stumble across all this generation info in season 2 when they were reading every source on werewolves to try and save Madison, the girl Sam liked? In the middle of the hour conversation that the kids recorded Sam didn't mention Madison once, regretful that she wasn't an earlier generation, or at least act like he REMEMBERED her? Is Amelia that good? Oh well, I'm having tons of problems with this season, so this hits eh for me.

Thank you both so much for taking the time to prepare them.

I'm curious, in your opinion, what do you think the point was of airing an epispde like this, or was there a point at all?

Did it give any kind of insight into Supernatural or was it merely an exercise in trying out something dfferent for no other reason than as an end to itself and/or to "wow" the SPN audience?

In the other "experimental" SNP episodes,TFM, CC, even The Real Ghostbusters, the plot-lines were always inherent to the Winchesters but this seems to be a one-off that just goes it's own way.
Then again could it be an an indication that the writers want to draw in a younger audience by using teens like these?
