  1. Glad they hacked through those dirtbags in the jail. Already a crapload of conflict.

  2. Yep. If ya ain't with us you're against us. I like that mentality for this group. It is sad that it has come to that, but it is what it is. This is a different world, and it seems we might just get a glimpse of more of it next week with the Governor.

  3. I thought last week's episode was awesome, but today's episode just climbed another level. I mean come on, the level of gore, violence, tension, surprises, awkwardness, humor (yes I found humor as well), and much more. Man, I wondered what they'll throw at us next week as the introduction of The Governor is next.

  4. i hope after next week, we will see more of Michonne&Andrea.....Rick's group has it all together, glad that Hershel lived...so i wonder who was that grave we saw in the promo?...maybe a much later epi?.....so as of the inmates only Axel is left from the comics...interesting...☺...

    ReplyDelete
  5. You really think the only white prisoner is Axel from the comic books? Cause I thought he could potentially be Thomas, the tax-fraud mann, lol.

    ReplyDelete
  6. Rick using the machete was my favorite part too! The stare down was so amazing. I literally jumped when he sliced him. I loved it! Rick really knows that it's time out for games and this guy was going to be a problem. He wouldn't respond to redirection lol. Totally agree about this episode going to another level. Can't wait for next week and Michonne/Andrea!

    ReplyDelete
  7. They didn't have to kill Big Tiny :(

    ReplyDelete
  8. I'm not convinced that he was Axel, I'm hopeful, but until I heard him say "You follow me?", I won't truly be convinced.

    ReplyDelete
  9. I was hoping one of the prisoners would end up being Tyreese but oh well, hopefully he'll show up at some point. Anyway, great episode again. Maybe not as many zombie kills but damn it if it still wasn't awesome through and through. Glad they made Carl more useful when he runs off on his own, and I could not stop laughing when Lori said she "wasn't winning any mother of the year awards."

Rick's stare down with "I'm Mr. Big Shot" inmate was damn intense. I actually didn't expect Rick to kill him then, later in the episode, but not then. And then leaving the other guy out in the courtyard... Rick is going dark side and he knows it and it is extremely entertaining to watch. Wonder who specifically was watching Carol, Merle maybe?

    ReplyDelete
  10. i absolutely loved this episode!
Rick killing that man was amazing. he's certainly getting more in touch with his dark side, which is very cool!
Carl is no child anymore, and Lori can't seem to undestand it, i know he's 10 ( eleven maybe) but the kid sure knows how to kill zombies
who was the person spying on Carol at the end? one of the governor's

    ReplyDelete
  11. Yeah, this dark side progression of Rick is coming forth much faster than I thought or expect, but mannn are they doing it in a style. I'm predicting he'll get to a point, where he realize it's not so hard and fast all the time, maybe during The Governor encounter or somewhere, who knows.

    ReplyDelete
  12. I think Rick was smiling inside, when he realized Big Tiny got scratched by the zombie.

  13. @ShOwFrEaK:disqus @shatteredone:disqus .....i watched the Epi on CC so i read their names... the white inmate name was Axel from the comics and the black inmate name was Oscar, who wasnt in the comics...the ones Rick killed were Tomas(machete) and Andrew(walker meat) and of course Big Tiny......so the writers continue to mix up the storylines and make the tv show better...☺....

    ReplyDelete
  14. i Loved that Mystery at the end of who was watching Carol?...we're sure its not Merle cause we saw him in the sneak peek driving in the car with Michonne and Andrea blindfolded.....

Im also waiting for Tyreese to show up...the writers said he was showing up in sea 3...... maybe he is in Woodbury already working for the Governor.....☺.....

    ReplyDelete
  15. Another awesome that raised the level for he show. Some major jump moments with Rick bringing the heat after that icy stare down, and I really jumped when Herschel grabbed Lori when she was giving him mouth to mouth... you really saw just how much Rick and company have changed into the really no nonsense group that they've become. I do think that we'll see more from the other 2 inmates in the coming eps, but it looks like next week will be the intro of the Governor and the girls saga...

  16. I don´t get one thing, especially last week with Hershel. Rick has stated that EVERYONE is already infected. So why did he try to cut off the leg? It would have been pointless. He just doesn´t need Hershel to die and cutting off the leg isn´t very helpful.
Same with Big Tiny being scratched. He doesn´t have to be scratched to be infected. Shane wasn´t scrateched or anything and turned into a zombie.

    ReplyDelete
  17. When someone is bit or scratched they get sick. Meaning they die faster. Everyone is infected but being scratched or bit just gets you to die faster and change into a walker faster.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Thanks, Emilia. I just thought someone mixed something up. Thanks for clarifying.

    ReplyDelete
  19. @N27....ur so confused N27...yes ur right Everyone is infected and everyone will Turn after they die normally.....but if anyone gets Bit then they will Turn into a Walker....Rick was trying to stop Hershel from Turning into a walker...he wasnt sure yet, thats why he put handcuffs on him while he recovered in case he Turned.....in Shane's case, Rick had stabbed Shane dead in the stomach...then Shane Turned before Carl shot him in the head......

are u understanding the infection and turning into walkers better now?.....☺.....

    ReplyDelete
  20. Good question..
I am no expert being as I have not read the comics so I'm just theorizing here....

Maybe the walker bites are poisonous and kill you but do not necessarily turn you. They are just so toxic that they will kill you and then the preexisting infection will turn them once they are dead?

Or maybe the disease has two stages or variants. Every living human is infected with Stage 1. Stage 1 will not activate until you die, then it turns you into a walker. At that point the disease has evolved to Stage 2. Stage 2 is more aggressive and will activate even in the living, basically trying to kill you so it can turn you.

Never thought about it before honestly... interesting....

  21. I think every Epi this season will be better then the last for sure....i just want to say that i was choking up when Maggie was saying her last goodbyes to her father...holding his hand and kissing him and finally my girly feelings took over and my tears came down when she put her head on his chest and we broke for a commercial, i needed that time to recover... :-( .....

  22. Awesome episode and even though it was less action-filled I think ti was better for me than the Season 3 premiere.

    - I loved the "Bad ass" inmates going balistic on the walkers as our crew just watch and try not to laugh at the inmates ineptitude! XD

    - Loved Carl just walking away to do his own thing without anyone noticing until he returns with the medical supplies they need only to be yelled at.

    - Loved Daryl and Rick's faces as they saw the "little bit" of food the inmates had left! XD
Priceless!! That was the most food Daryl and Rick had seen in months!

    - Loved Tomas think he was an alpha male.... until he met Rick. XD
Rick just let the loser go on until he had enough and then he showed him what it means to be an Alpha! Rick takes no prisoners! XD

    - Carol not being useless was nice and her wanting to practice on walkers was kinda creepy fun!

I like seeing the relationship between Rick and Lori evolve this year. their joking about divorce was fun and while Rick may not have quite accepted her back yet, he has moved on far enough that he can laugh.

    - Next week Merle returns as seen on The Talking Dead preview!
    Huzzah!

  23. Exactly right. The bites give the living an infection like a bacterial infection. That infection gives them a fever that eventually kills them resulting in them becoming Walkers. By chopping his leg, they prevented the bacterial infection from spreading in his living bloodstream, thus preventing the fever and death. Same could be said for Big Tiny, but he wasn't worth saving in Rick's eyes.

    ReplyDelete
  24. I was sitting there waiting for him to zombify and attack her. I'm glad he didn't but I was waiting for it.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Did the writers say that Tyreese would show up in Season 3? I never thought it was specifically state he would. If so, awesome. Who knows, he could just randomly waltz by the prison one day kinda like Michonne in the comics.

    ReplyDelete
  26. What´s the difference between turned and being turned into a Walker?

What seems so illogical to me is. If everyone is already infected, a bite doesn´t change it. So the only thing you have to do is to prevent someone´s death.
That´s why Rick´s actions were completely illogical by cutting Hershel´s leg. He tried to stop him bleeding that way? Come on.

    I smell shock value writing.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Sorry, but chopping the leg doesn´t prevent an infection. Cleaning the wound would have prevented an infection.
Do we agree that the infection that would have caused the death is not the Zombie-infection but another infection because they are all zombie-infected by now, as Jenner told Rick.

    ReplyDelete
  28. there's no difference..you turn when you die with your brain intact..
bites or scratches give you an infection (since zombies aren't the cleanest of creatures) which kills you. The infection is in the blood (I think that's why they have the fever) and the only way to stop it is to prevent it from spreading..and fast..thus the chopping of the leg..half of Hershel's lower leg was bitten of and alcohol and antibiotics wouldn't cut it..

    ReplyDelete
  29. I read a technical description on a site several months ago - I think it was by someone to do with the show or the comic (I can't remember).
Everyone has the negative form of the virus but when you die it becomes the positive form. The positive form of the virus can also be introduced directly through bite, scratch etc and turns the negative virus to positive - this takes time to spread through the system though, so that's why cutting off the bitten limb stopped it from spreading.

    ReplyDelete
  30. I smell a moron. Seriously, these guys explained it to you. Are you that dense? Stop your whining and enjoy the damn show.

    ReplyDelete
  31. But they have antibiotics. They have all the medicine required to keep Lori so long through her pregnancy. So they just needed to cure it. You don´t chop off someone´s leg in real life because of an infection.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Yeah, but he still has a lot of growing up to do. Going off to the infirmary alone, without telling anybody is just a stupid thing to do, whatever your age.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Sorry but Chopping the leg above the bite would most certainly stop a bacterial infection that is at the wound site.Plus they didn't exactly have a wound cleaning kit handy, so chopping was necessary to prevent the infection from going further into the bloodstream. Now thanks to Carl they have a first aid kit, so maybe in the future this will be unnecessary.

Also if you would have paid attention to my comment, then you would see that I said it is not the Zombie infection that would have killed him, it would have been the BACTERIAL infection that would have caused a fever that would have killed him. So yeah We agree that the Zombie infection doesn't kill, just the dirty nasty Zombie mouths and fingernails that kill.

    ReplyDelete
  34. But chopping the leg off is under these circumstances a much more definite way to end Hershel´s life.
If Rick isn´t able to stop the blood circulation to the leg, so that the BACTERIAL infection doesn´t get into the whole body, then why does he chop his leg off. Hershel will bleed to death. It made absolutely no sense in this situation.
    It lacks plausibility.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Dirty cuts and bites and scrapes will kill you (via fever) if not treated. By the way at the time Hershel got bit, the supplies were with Lori, Beth, and Carol in the cell block. So they had no choice but to chop off the dirty wound as it would have entered into his bloodstream on the way to the cell block. PERIOD END OF STORY!

    ReplyDelete
  36. How dou you chop off a dirty wound if you can´t stop the bleeding? Tell me.
    That´s killing Hershel, too.

    ReplyDelete
  37. He put a tourniquet on his leg to stave off the bleeding that would happen once the leg was chopped off. Tourniquets, while effective are not 100 percent effective. That is why he was still slowly bleeding to death until they got him back to the cell block to dress the wound. He WAS able to stop the bacterial infection by chopping off the leg! Next problem is stopping the bleeding, and keeping the stump clean. It was an emergency procedure. Think civil war time injuries. Back then without antibiotics they chopped legs and feet and arms off all the time.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Tourniquet slows the bleeding until they get him to the bed.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Yeah, I agree with the civil war scenario, but the goal was to keep Hershel alive so that he doesn´t tranform into a zombie. The wound had a few destroyed veins through which Hershel loses blood. Chopping off the leg leaves every vein open, so clearly he loses more blood, if Rick can´t stop the bleeding first place. That´s what was so implausible to me and smelled like shock value.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Yeah, but too many veins were open, that even the tourniquet wasn´t able to stop the bleeding. When the leg was chopped off Hershel was dying rather sooner than later.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Alright I am gonna say this one last time and I'm gonna spell it out for you.

The dirty bacteria in the Zombie's mouth was in the bite. That dirty bacteria would have made its way through Hershel's bloodstream eventually giving him a terrible fever and killing him, thus turning him into a Walker because the infected part could not be immediately flushed out and antibiotics given to Hershel. Since there are no antibiotics available, and since there was not a wound flush kit available, then the ONLY way to prevent a spread of the dirty zombie mouth bacteria throughout Hershel's bloodstream was to amputate the dirty wound as soon as possible. If they would have dragged him back to the cell block intact, then the dirty zombie mouth bacteria would have most likely entered into the bloodstream resulting in imminent death. So the ONLY choice Rick was left with was to apply a tourniquet and to amputate, then pray they get him back in time to stop all the bleeding.

If you don't understand after this explanation then you are just being argumentative and I'm not gonna get into an argument here. Either take it or leave it.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Read my other response above. I'm done with the back and forth.

    ReplyDelete
  43. I don´t know why you become agressive.

My point is: Rick wants Hershel to live - he tries to stop the bleeding - not only because of the infection, but to keep him alive, because the wound was bleeding heavily - Rick can´t stop the bleeding - so why does he chop the leg off - leads to more bleeding, ergo to Hershel´s sooner death.

It´s not only to prevent an infection in this situation, but to keep Hershel alive, otherwise he would have been turned immediately. It doesn´t make sense to chop it off, because as we see now Hershel dies. With a regular bacterial infection he could have lived for a couple of days, the others could have lookd for a pharmacy in the meantime and give him antibiotics. That would be more logical instead of chopping it off and risking immediate blood loss and an apparent death.

    ReplyDelete
  44. I'm sorry I came off as aggressive. I'm just getting annoyed that you are not getting it. Forgive me. Let me try to explain this better. Although I think I was pretty clear before but here goes:

Untreated Zombie dirty mouth bite = sure death in hours or days. SURE DEATH

Why? because the nature of our bloodstreams is such that anything that comes into contact with an open wound that is foreign or dirty will very quickly (due to the heart pumping faster because of adrenalin) cause an infection that is potentially deadly. Now in the world we live in there are antibiotics that will kill off infections of the like. But in the world that TWD characters live in there are not any antibiotics available to fight off blood-borne infections like a dirty bite would cause. Keep this in mind.

Chopped leg without tourniquet = Death in minutes due to bleeding out.

Chopped leg with tourniquet = You buy yourself several more minutes to get a person away from the immediate danger and back to a hospital or in this case the cell block bed.

Once back at the safety of the cell block they were then able to flush out the wound and work to stop the bleeding. Had they brought Hershel back to the cell block without chopping off his leg then they would have let the dirty bacteria enter into the bloodstream which would result in SURE DEATH, as there are no antibiotics to administer. So had they not chopped off his leg he would have eventually died, but by chopping off his leg he has a much better chance at living.

Remember after Hershel woke up they said he didn't have a fever. That is good, since it is the fever that indicates that the infection is in the bloodstream and it is the fever that kills. By him not having a fever it is evidence that chopping off the leg was the right decision. If he'd still gotten a fever that would mean that they didn't cut the bacteria off from the bloodstream soon enough. This was the point of him chopping off the leg so quickly. It had nothing to do with Shock Value.

As I said I'm sorry for coming off as aggressive, but I cannot explain it any better than I have here.

  45. That marriage is o-v-e-r, and Lori seems upset. Well, Lori.......

    ReplyDelete
  46. this show kills me everytime. seriously, there are no words to how many states i go through while watching this, the whole world just stops right there for me. On to the episode itself, even though it wasn't as much breath-taking as the premiere, it was still amazing. There was a large number of moments I enjoyed. I am shipping Lori and Rick very hard to start with, this drama feels insanely real and makes me root for them hard. Then, I love how cohesive the group has became. The Daryl-Rick cumplicity certainly is a proof of that and even at the Carol level that was shown. Also, I was never too impressed by Maggie, but damn the actress that portrays her killed it in her scene with Hershell. It was amazing and one of the biggest despair scenes ever. She just couldn't bear to ask her father to lvie in such a horrible world anylonger. Such strong stuff. Also... can someone please give andrew lincoln an emmy, like, today? The guys kills me every time. Finally... who the hell was watching Carol (btw one of the creepiest things they have ever done!!)

    ReplyDelete
  47. it was such a brilliant scene. one of my favorites ever fromt the show, non action wise.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Yeah i forgot to mention that in my comment. I loved the parallelle between rick's group and how cohesive they have became now and the inmates group. It reminded me of how they were at the beggining, when their camp was attacked, back then in season 1

    ReplyDelete
  49. No amount of antibiotics would have saved Hershel. Cutting off his leg was the only option they had. It was a long shot but it was Hershel's ONLY chance of surviving.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Wish I did... I spent about an hour combing through my history but couldn't find it.

    ReplyDelete
  51. No problem.Sorry if I was too agressive.

    ReplyDelete
  52. No problem. I just thought antibiotics would have been reachable and Rick´s action was a little too hotheaded. But I surrender and acknowledge defeat. ;-)
