I can't stop laughing at this. It HAS to be a running gag about Emma being a doofus now. Snow JUST told you not to talk to her, Emma, and you just offered up personal information about you AND Regina. And Snow's "WHAT DID I JUST SAY!" face is great.
Ha! How funny seeing MM being a mother, when they both look the same age ( like Olivia & Etta)! This time i have to agree with MM,do not give Cora any info, she'll just turn around it and use it against you!
I usually don't rant about Emma and her not being very smart, but this time I wanted to shake her so bad. Yeah, go ahead and tell that creepy lady locked away in a prison that your mother is visibly so not happy to see everything about Henry. Henry lived with Regina all his life. And Storybrooke is full of people who care about Henry, including Prince Charming. He is fine. But telling Regina's crazy and abusive mother about him will change that as soon as she's talked you into taking her back to Storybrooke. Congratulations.
Wasn't exactly excited for this episode but seeing this certainly made me look forward to it a little more. Roll on Sunday. Snow's face when she sees Cora though.
Well frankly, Emma just fought a dragon less than a day ago, watched fairy tale characters, broke a curse, encountered a wraith and got transported into a fairy tale land.
I'd cut her some slack right now. Its a miracle she can forma coherent sentence right now.
And this show how true evil acts: - For Regina the "evil queen" was a wall, an act she puts on to defend herself and ignore the pain. Overblown theatrics, anger, threats, all part of defensive mechanism. - For Cora, its who she is. And she can hide it very well. She can be a caring old lady if she wants and if it gets her what she wants.
Snow is right - whatever Emma's opinion is on Regina, Cora is way worse and way more dangerous.
Maybe she should trust and listen to Snow then? I'd cut her some slack if Snow had been out during the entire scene, but she SAW Snow's reaction to Cora and Snow TOLD her not to trust Cora, yet she goes right ahead and starts blabbering about Henry. Like someone already mentioned: You can almost hear Cora thinking 'this is easier than I expected'.
Um...Regina spent years convincing her son that he was insane and needed therapy because he found out the truth. Manipulating a stranger is nothing compared with that sort of psychological torment perpetuated on a child in your care.
"The apple fell far from the tree". *gags* If you mean you're way way way more of a b**** and that you caused your daughter to lash out at people like she does, then sure Cora.
I think I 'm going to spend this entire episode shouting at my tv: "Emma, you effing idiot, shut the hell up!" and "Emma, you effing idiot, don't do that!" as well as "Emma, will you shut the hell up and listen to your mother, the person that actually knows what she's talking about!?"
Sorry dearie, but that's not how psychology works.
Emma is in too much of a shock to really listen to her own senses. She spent first episode completely freaked out and the second episode and FTL land did not help at all.
When suffering from stress and being in shock, its not uncommon for a person to feel like he/she is in some sort of surreal dream, unable to discern what is reasonable and what is not.
Emma went through a VERY bad few months, watched her son nearly die and then followed the whole, for the lack of better word, rabbit hole of weirdness. For Snow - its another day of her life, for Emma - its some freaking weird nightmare she is unable to really wake up from so far.
You've missed the point. Invested was saying that Regina's actions are part of a defense mechanism and they aren't indicative of "true evil." I'm saying that what we're seeing Cora do in this clip is nothing compared with what Regina does. And that that argument makes very little logical sense.
Looks like reversing the curse and landing in FTL has zapped Emma's "lie detecting ability" (even though it had disappeared long before) as well as her instincts/common sense... lol listen to your momma, Emma!
I'm with InvestedInYourFuture. Emmas is confused and overstrained like everbody else would be in her situation. She has to learn a lot about this other world, about her mother and about beeing a daughter who should listen to her skilled mother.
I wonder, if Emma did ever read Henry's fairytale book at full length! Does she even know, WHY Regina enacted the curse? Isn't that important or at least very interesting for her to know? I really want to see this conversation between Emma and Snow...
The irony of another Snow White's daughter immediately offering up information about someone Regina loves desperately after almost no prodding is pretty interesting, especially if Cora makes her way to Storybrooke and somehow attempts to hurt Henry to get back at Regina.
Especially since it's clearly NOT like another day of Snow's life either and Emma has shown to be impulsive, ignorant and gullible quite a lot not just when she's been stressed.
I spend every episode like that. "Emma, you just spent an entire episode talking about being a hero and being a good person, WHY are you stealing, breaking and entering, illegally wiretapping and making ridiculous accusations?" "What is it? Emma, IT'S A SWORD!" "Emma, that big sign that says 'library' that you walk past every single day? IT's the library"
Snow spent her whole life with magic, monsters and all that stuff - she spent time living in the forest, robbing people, for gods sake.
Emma spent her whole life in cities, living completely boring and arguably safer urban life.
Snow WOULD take all of that easier because of her past, but for someone like Emma - any of the dozen of things that happened to her within last day or so would be enough to make one start to lose his mind. And she had all of them at once. Its a miracle that girl's still standing.
Actually, I don't think Regina's reasons for enacting the curse are at all in the book. In the episodes where we saw flashbacks with Regina before Leopold's death, they didn't show pages with drawings of her from the fairytale book. I guess whoever wrote it and intended for Henry to read it didn't want him to know the full truth of how and why Regina became the Evil Queen. And since Henry is a 10-year-old, "she's evil" was a logical enough explanation for all her actions.
I know, right?? Not 5 minutes ago I was not at all looking forward to Sunday, but this is certainly an intriguing clip. I think there will be a lot of food for thought and debate in this episode! And I'm pretty sure I'll be quite frustrated and furious at Emma while watching it. :D
As far as I can remember Mary didn't give the book to Henry until pretty recently before the pilot, which is when he started putting all the pieces together. I'm not saying what she did is right, because how long can you raise a kid before him realizing nobody else is aging. Lol.
But I remember, that we saw drawings (showing young Snow) of the book in the "stable boy" episode. Henry was reading it before school with a slight irritated look on his face.
No, it's not in "Stable Boy". There's a drawing of Young!Snow in "Hat Trick", about a minute from the start. On the right hand side there is a drawing of Young!Snow, but on the left hand side the story is about a dwarf, as far as I can tell. But it has nothing to do with Snow, let alone with Regina. Which makes me all the more curious about who the original author of the book might be.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Protective Momma!Snow is awesome and I love her.
ReplyDeleteAnd LOL, Emma, that was an interesting way to describe the relationship you and Regina share with Henry.
I can't stop laughing at this. It HAS to be a running gag about Emma being a doofus now. Snow JUST told you not to talk to her, Emma, and you just offered up personal information about you AND Regina. And Snow's "WHAT DID I JUST SAY!" face is great.
ReplyDeleteOh Cora, you crack me up.
ReplyDeleteFunny to see Mary Margaret Pulling rank.
OH GOD... Cora has a much easier time gathering information than she probably was expecting. lol
ReplyDeleteHa! How funny seeing MM being a mother, when they both look the same age ( like Olivia & Etta)! This time i have to agree with MM,do not give Cora any info, she'll just turn around it and use it against you!

Love seeing Snow act all motherly!

ReplyDelete"I kind of share him with Regina. It's complicated..." Yeah, you can say that. Wonder how complicated it gets once you return to SB.
ReplyDeletewoowow cant wait!!!!!

ReplyDelete"My son. I kind of share him with Regina." LOL
ReplyDeleteNice!! Now I'm excited for this episode!
ReplyDeleteOh Emma. I hope that lie detector gift of yours has a good return policy, because it's consistently not working!!!
ReplyDeleteYou just got bonuspoints for mentioning Olivia & Etta :)
ReplyDeleteUm...Regina spent years convincing her son that he was insane and needed therapy because he found out the truth. Manipulating a stranger is nothing compared with that sort of psychological torment perpetuated on a child in your care.
ReplyDelete"The apple fell far from the tree". *gags* If you mean you're way way way more of a b**** and that you caused your daughter to lash out at people like she does, then sure Cora.
ReplyDeleteListen to your mother, Emma. Every scrap of information you give her now will inevitably bite you in the ass later on.
ReplyDeleteExcept we and Snow know that Cora did much worse than manipulate a stranger.
ReplyDeleteI think I 'm going to spend this entire episode shouting at my tv: "Emma, you effing idiot, shut the hell up!" and "Emma, you effing idiot, don't do that!" as well as "Emma, will you shut the hell up and listen to your mother, the person that actually knows what she's talking about!?"

ReplyDeleteI love Snow in protective mother mode!
ReplyDeleteLol,I'll take em! Lately i see Olivia and Etta everywhere,i think it must be separation anxiety! Sadly we don't have much more time with them! :( :)
ReplyDeleteLooks like reversing the curse and landing in FTL has zapped Emma's "lie detecting ability" (even though it had disappeared long before) as well as her instincts/common sense... lol listen to your momma, Emma!

ReplyDelete...but the original comment isn't based on just this clip. It's based on what we've seen Cora do, or based on what Snow knows Cora has done.
ReplyDeleteThe irony of another Snow White's daughter immediately offering up information about someone Regina loves desperately after almost no prodding is pretty interesting, especially if Cora makes her way to Storybrooke and somehow attempts to hurt Henry to get back at Regina.
ReplyDeleteNo need to be condescending.
ReplyDeleteEspecially since it's clearly NOT like another day of Snow's life either and Emma has shown to be impulsive, ignorant and gullible quite a lot not just when she's been stressed.

When we are gonna see Mary as Snow (I mean, the long hair, the make up...) Ginny is pretty, but they always show the poor girl so ugly.
ReplyDeleteWOOOOHOOOOO!!! AWESOME sneak peek!!!
ReplyDeleteI agree. I hate the Mary Margaret look.
ReplyDeleteIf we aren't talking about the clip then what does "And this shows" referring to?
ReplyDelete'my son, i kinda share him with regina, its complicated.'

ReplyDeleteSeriously got into that sneak peek so much so I forgot it was a sneak peek lol - I was disappointed when I remembered it wasn't a full episode!.
ReplyDeleteI know, right?? Not 5 minutes ago I was not at all looking forward to Sunday, but this is certainly an intriguing clip. I think there will be a lot of food for thought and debate in this episode! And I'm pretty sure I'll be quite frustrated and furious at Emma while watching it. :D
ReplyDeleteAnybody else feeling the urge to shove Cora in a magic mirror and ship her to another reality??!?
ReplyDeleteAs far as I can remember Mary didn't give the book to Henry until pretty recently before the pilot, which is when he started putting all the pieces together. I'm not saying what she did is right, because how long can you raise a kid before him realizing nobody else is aging. Lol.
ReplyDeleteIt warms my heart every time I see Snow protecting her daughter.

ReplyDeleteEmma is so stupid, she seriously just makes everything worse. LISTEN TO YOUR MOTHER.
