Fringe has cast singer-actress Jill Scott for an upcoming episode, Entertainment Weekly reports

Scott, 40, will play Simone, who is described as "an incredibly intuitive woman, an oracle-like person" who will help Olivia (Anna Torv) in an early Season 5 episode, according to the magazine.

    Also note: that Jill Scott is working with Zoe Saldana (Uhura - alternate time line Star Trek), who's role in this film "Nina" is the famous civil rights activist/singer - Nina Simone
