666 Park Avenue - One Million Moms goes after the show

25 Oct 2012

The producers of "Gossip Girls" and "Pretty Little Liars" bring viewers "666 Park Avenue." The satanic and demonic series is described on ABC's website as a mix between "Rosemary's Baby" and "The Shining."

To paraphrase the description of the program given on ABC's website: The show is about a young couple who find what they think to be an amazing apartment when in fact it is haunted. Those who live in the building seduce others to get what they need and want. But how far will they go to get what they want? The finest living in the city comes at a cost.

ABC also describes the apartment building as wicked and dangerous and the owner of the building as a dark power.

The evil owner of the apartment building in the show portrays characteristics of the devil himself. Previews include terrifying screams, death, spirits, satanic symbols, mark of the devil, and souls bought for a price. It airs Sunday evenings on ABC (Disney owned) at 10:00 pm ET/ 9:00 pm CT.

  1. Um, come the fuck on. YOUR KIDS SHOULD BE IN BED AT 10:00 AT NIGHT ON A SUNDAY.

  2. Ha wow. These people are idiots.

But I think this will be good for the show.

Now more people will check it out because of this ha ha

  3. This all but guarantees ratings will now soar through the roof.

  4. What a bunch of fucking morons. I hate these people. Great show, and it's pretty damn light in way of anything horror or scary in actual fact.

  5. LOL, hopefully something good like the ratings going up will come out of this!

  6. This is ridiculous. If they don't want their children watching the show, that is up to them, NOT the Network!! Besides, I don't find the show scary at all. On the contrary, I find it entertaining. I have a real problem with people blaming their parenting issues on other people. It's a personal decision that should be made by parents and not some group that thinks they know better than everyone else!!

  7. God I hate groups like this, if you don't like something, don't let your kids watch or put up some kind of parental blocker on your tvs. Other people enjoy this stuff so why mess with it?

  8. One Million Moms is like a hybrid of the Parents Television Council (PTC) and a hate group. They're completely horrible.

  9. I hope this sparks interest that could improve ratings (especially in the demo)
The show isn't quite there yet, but it is entertaining every week and will only get better.

  11. Some people have way too much time on their hands! If you don't want your children watching the show, don't let them!!

  12. So they have issues with this but not the show that airs before it which is all about Revenge or the one on at 8 I mean there is a evil queen in that one...or this show which was really popular called Lost that had some rather evil characters and underlying story's that could be understood. It's a TV show the title alone should tell you it's kinda dark and no offense if your kids are watching that and you don't like it be a parent and put them to bed! I'm not even sure how much I like the show but give it a break plenty of shows over the years on ABC and other networks have dabbled on way or another with ScFi( it's the CW only option) and those shows were really good. The point is if you don't want to watch it don't if you don't want your kids to DON'T LET THEM IT'S THAT SIMPLE!

  13. I agree. Parents are responsible for managing their children's activities. Don't let them watch and .... oh ... here's an idea ... teach them about stories.

Did none of these mothers read their children anything from the Grimm storybook, let them watch a Disney Movie? Let's start with Bambi and move onto Snow White and can we forget Cruella Deville? I think not. Roadrunner and Wiley E Coyote?

Anything by Shakespeare, most things by Kipling, all of J.K. Rowling's work ... these are off limits, too?

It's crazy. Every parent knows this: you control the child, not the world..

  14. I'm a grown woman. I don't need these people telling me what I can and cannot watch, read or listen to.

My sister has two kids. She used the parental controls on the TV when they were little. They do not have a TV or computer in their bedrooms. When her oldest son got a cellphone she instituted random checks of the content. (When she found something she didn't approve of she dealt with it immediately. Not by having a screaming fit but by teaching him what he needed to know to make responsible and informed judgements and decisions.) She pays attention to the ratings on video games and has talked in depth with the store managers to make sure the games he wants are ones she approves of. In other words...she PARENTS.

These people annoy me to no end...usually they have not even bothered to check out the thing they're protesting or ranting about.

Have they learned nothing? The makers love when these things come up because they usually make a LOT of money. I know I only saw Caligula (I was 19) because I wanted to know what all the court cases and pickets were protesting over. The big lesson? If the protesters had kept their mouths shut the movie would have disappeared in less than a week because it was, simply speaking, a bad movie.

  15. This group needs to get a life and a reality check. First off if they don't like the show, nobody is forcing them to watching. They need to stop being so overly senstive. It's just a fictious show, and this group needs to stop getting so overly upset over nonsense. Don't these moms have anything else to do than complain and protest things that are stupidity??

  16. Wow that website is something else. So they watch all these shows they deem inappropriate so they can tell people not to watch them? If you don't like it don't watch it and support their ratings... and don't let your kids watch. Besides that show is probably too scary for them anyway! I think I saw something on there about not buying Oreos because they are supporting Pride week. Do they think oreos are going to change their kids' gender or sexual orientation?

  17. These people are real idiots. How much does anyone want to bet that this group took a look at all the shows -saw which ones were the most in danger of cancellation -and decided to put a crusade on this show. So when it gets cancelled they can claim -"See -we got a show off the air". This agency is full of hateful hypocrtical people.

  18. 666 could use the publicity with their non stelar ratings, these 1Mil moms morons are doing nothing but help.

  19. Go to their site. click on the email link they've so helpfully provided and tell the sponsors to ignore the morons from One Million Moms who expect everyone else to parent their children for them because they're too busy organizing stupid protests!

As a few have mentioned, what responsible parent has their children up watching TV at that time of night... if these One Million Mums do, perhaps they should take a look in the mirror before protesting against TV Shows in adult time slots.

  20. One Million mums=One million women who shouldnt have been allowed to breed
Heres a suggestion you sad cows- dont let your kids watch the show and why the hell are you letting your kids watch TV after 10? Try being resposible parents and looking for excuses for when your kids turn out to be complete shits!

  21. hahaha, go to their website if you want a laugh.......'please email and strongly urge ABC to drop all plans to air this show ever again'. They also go after The New Normal, calling it 'Not Normal' - I wonder why they would think that?

    Totally disgusting.

  22. is this all these people have to do in their spare time.. if this is the case then they'd be taking most of what's on tv off the air... who are they to say what should be on and what shouldn't....and kids should be in the bed at that time of the night anyway... sleeping for school the next day...
