The CW Network has made a script order for a contemporary take on "Alice in Wonderland." The drama will center on a young female detective in present-day Los Angeles who discovers another world that exists under the surface of this ultra-modern city.
The series, titled "Wunderland," will be written and executive produced by Playboy Club's Chad Hodge, with McG (Gossip Girl) and Peter Johnson attached as executive producers. The hour-long entry is set up at McG's Wonderland Sound and Vision in association with Warner Bros. Television.

The zombie craze is being slowly pushed out by the fairytale crazy.
ReplyDeleteall the CW shows in deveolpment seem the same to me
ReplyDeleteBoy they have tried this once with The Wizard of Oz and it just didn't work to well. -I think fantasy-like landscapes in the modern world only work well when either they are seriously adult in nature, or they are woven into another idea.
ReplyDeleteBut I am not going to judge it until I see it. Maybe it will just have the right cast and it will be alright.
Sorry, CW, but apart from Arrow, nothing you currently have inspires any confidence in this succeeding at all.
ReplyDeleteAlso this premise? My head is exploding from times this has been done to death already.
This sounds just like Gotham - which was a pilot that wasn't picked up last year.
ReplyDeleteFor God's sake, stop with the cop-finds-out-a-great-secret plot, that worked only for Fringe...
ReplyDeleteIt's on CW. That's the problem. Who doesn't love Alice In Wonderland? :)
ReplyDeleteI'm over Wonderland. :( Can't we just make up something new?
ReplyDeleteCan't, oh never mind, i don't have the energy to get into it.
ReplyDeleteExcept for the brand name (Alice in Wonderland) and the location (LA instead of NYC) this seems just like the "Gotham" pilot that ABC passed on back in May.
ReplyDelete+1 That was what I immediately thought when I read this.
ReplyDeleteFrom the premise, sounds a bit like Grimm meets the last Hellboy movie...
ReplyDeletei think Laura Vandervoort would be perfect for the lead role
ReplyDeleteSounds similar to Beauty and the Beast,at least the main character.Let's hope they don't screw it up.
ReplyDeleteoh man, and I thought the cw wanted to redefine the network..
ReplyDeleteme too!
ReplyDeleteThese kind of shows just doesn´t work for me. I wish they would come up with something new. No vampires, fairytales, zombies, beasts, but something new and different.
ReplyDeleteThanks for reminding me of Gotham. You're right! Carbon copy. They just changed the locations.
ReplyDeleteAmazon could be good. If done right. The same with Embrace.
ReplyDeleteThe CW: Home of Original Ideas.
ReplyDeleteBla bla bla bla. Gotham. Bla bla.
ReplyDeleteI would love to see that show. Make Laura Vandervoort starring in it and I´m in!
