According to The Hollywood Reporter, The CW Network has given a script order to Copeland Prep, an hourlong drama series set at a secondary school.
The series, from Fake Empire's Josh Schwartz ("Gossip Girl," "Hart of Dixie," "The Carrie Diaries," "Cult") revolves around a premier secondary school so fiercely competitive that it's turning its students into monsters -- literally -- and spreading the disturbing ramifications throughout the town.

So, this time the Hellmouth is within the schoolars themselves :D
ReplyDeleteHe stole that idea from a series of books that were created by MTV Books, lame, so freaking lame, how can they give Josh another freaking show?
ReplyDeleteIt's only a script order. The project may not get any further than that.
ReplyDeleteI really hope it doesn't. I am so sick and tired of shows based on books. I know it's all been done before (and in a lot of cases, so much better) but I just want a semi-original idea on TV in the next coming seasons. Is that too much to ask? Even all of the reality shows are just a like. I just want original, high quality SCRIPTED TV. Is that too much to ask?
ReplyDeleteI agree with you but I wouldn't get your hopes up. This is the same TV industry that created a sitcom from a Twitter feed.
ReplyDeleteThe CW has seriously become the Josh Schwartz/Stephanie Savage Network while i like them they need to do projects with other producers too
ReplyDeleteSo this would be sci-fi series? It actually sees righ up to the cw type of show area. Let's see what comes of it.
ReplyDeletesounds stupid but lots of shows do on paper.
ReplyDeleteFigured Josh would be trying to get a few pilots in at the CW what with Gossip Girl ending, Cult and Carrie Diaries having a good chance of failure and HOD's future uncertain for now he may not have a show left on the network by the end of the season. Though I do think HOD will be stable enough to earn a 3rd season.
LOL. Damn right, forgot that one already.
ReplyDeleteWhy can´t Josh Schwartz write a concept on his own anymore? I liked his voice on the OC but now he keeps "just producing" and honestly, I don´t care about that.
ReplyDeleteI do agree with this but it happens that maybe their concept had a book which happens to already have lots of material which good help them develop the series so they just base it of it or just because it maybe too close to a book and by adapting it is they only way around a copyright case.
ReplyDeleteStephanie Savage/Catherine Hardwick: I can believe in the apocalypse now. At least when it comes to tv and the CW.
