  1. Holy shit, that was amazing! Holy shit, Leena. AND OH MY GOD, IS SHE DEAD? THE PROMO JUST SAID SHE'S DEAD. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

And I loved that Amy Acker was Myka's sister. But holy shit that episode and the end.

  5. I can't believe Leena's dead. I refuse to believe so.

And although I'd already assumed Artie was his own evil, I still loved the way they played it out to make it super duper creepy and shocking at the end. I still got plenty of goosebumps.

  6. Unfortunately I'm getting tired of 3 sub-plots an episode.

  7. A extremely well done death scene for Leena. A talented and underused actress. In my opinion, Artie is 100% responsible. Even if Artie is possessed with another person without his knowledge whom he cannot control, it does not matter.

First, Artie failed to effectively communicate the danger (of Brother Adrian from his point of view) to Leena when she first came into the bronze sector. The way he said it not only failed to convey the danger (of Brother Adrian from his point of view) but it was worse than this because it had the opposite effect and encouraged Leena to stay because of her emotional state. He should have shot at her feet or pushed her or slapped her to snap her out of it.

Second, and most telling, is that Artie failed to bronze himself when he saw he could not bronze Brother Adrian. If he would have trusted Leena, then bronzed himself immediately, this would prevent further harm and protect the warehouse agents, and would give them time to figure out how to save Artie. On the other hand, assume for the moment Artie is correct about brother Adrian, then clearly Artie is outmatched by him, so then bronzing himself would prevent himself from using the astrolabe which is what Brother Adrian wants and there would be no incentive for Brother Adrian to further harm Artie’s friends except to get them to bronze Artie so Artie can use the astrolabe, which would prove Artie's theory correct.

In any case, such an act would buy time for his friends to save Artie. Now, Artie is beyond saving. Artie has completely lost his integrity and now is the villain. To see this, compare Artie's selfish actions at the end of this episode to H.G. Wells selfless actions at the end of last season. Artie allowed Leena to be killed because simply put, he is selfish thinking about himself before others.

It will be interesting to see how this develops in the next episode. There are so many possibilities. Here is one that is unlikely and obvious and not shocking or creative enough:

H.G. Wells replaces Artie, Artie kills HG Wells and Jinx and others to try to force Claudia to stab Artie, but not kill Artie, to force Artie to use the astrolabe again, but Claudia refuses accepting the heroic deaths of Jinx and HG Wells, but instead bronzes Artie. Ms. Fredrick passes her job and powers of protector of the warehouse to Claudia, then dies. Regents gives astrolabe to Claudia to protect in secret saying that The Brothers astrolabe was never removed and that there are now at least two astrolabes. Then an artefact Artie set up as s fail-safe kills most of the people in the world as well as Peter and Micah and forces Claudia to use her new powers or to use the astrolabe knowing it will turn her evil, but also knowing that if she stabs Artie before he kills Leena, then bronzes Artie, she will save the world, then she can be Emily Lake (the solution for H.G. Wells) so that her friends can be safe while trying to find a way to save her by working with the Brotherhood. Cliffhanger, Then at the same time as she is using the astrolabe, McPherson returns and unfreezes Artie and explains that each time any astrolabe is used it is cloned, and that is what happened to him, and he has been trying to destroy all the astrolabes, then they join forces and use a third astrolabe to STOP Claudia and destroy all the astrolabes.

But this possibility is one that is unlikely and obvious and not shocking or creative enough. I expect it takes several months to go through thousands of possibilities before the best one reveals itself.

  8. Yeah, I can't and don't want to believe Leena is dead.

  9. Well, that was a pretty dang good episode. I liked the way the threads worked (Artie struggling in the warehouse and the various attempts to save loved ones.) Was insanely happy that the Warehouse security isn't as shoddy as I was beginning to believe. Loved the twist of Artie being, as we were promised, the source of all this evil. A few eps back they almost lost me on this whole subplot then they got me back and haven't let me go yet.

I'm really torn over what happened to Leena. She's always been the character they didn't seem to know what to do with. We (or at least I) were never given a good definition of what her job with the warehouse was and for most of the previous seasons we never saw her. So, from that perspective, I'm not devastated with her loss. On the other hand...poor Leena!

    Good ep.

Aside: I have to make an aside comment about the previous ep Second Chance. We didn't get a poll and I was laughing so hard about this point I just had to get it out there. In that ep Myka and Pete kept having these non-whispery intense conversations about the artifacts (the top secret part of their jobs) in the middle of crowded rooms and hallways. Just as it was beginning to make me nuts enough to yell at the TV...the guy with the artifact inside him...overhears the conversation and takes off. Loved that.

  10. Wow! This was a great episode! I especially loved how the episode had all those guest/recurring stars that were important to the main characters. I liked that Amanda was brought back. It was cool that Amy Acker played Myka's sister. And, I've been wanting to see Claudia's brother back again too. That ending with Leena dead, was jarring, but also built great climax. Very good drama and storyline buildup.
