  1. Oh I am really glad they have finally decided to confirm this. The show has falling in quality since about S5 - with Michael's leaving storyline in S7 being a rare high point only for it to drop again. It is time to say goodbye to the characters because half the time they aren't even the same ones we fell in love with.

  2. I'm really relieved to hear this. Now let's just hope that season 9 really goes out with a bang - I think the show deserves to go out on a great note, so hopefully we can forget about the mediocrity of the last season or two.

  3. Quite amusing to find that out just the day after NBC confirmed the 22-episode order the of Michael J. Fox comedy for September 2013. NBC doesn't seem to be inclined to move Parks & Rec to 9pm, so it's quite likely that the Fox comedy will inheritate the slot.

With 30 Rock ending in January and The Office ending in May, that's definitely the end of an era on NBC. And with those two big shows gone, it means more chances for Community to go beyond episode 4.13 (I'd prefer a back 9 order to wrap up the show decently).

Goodbye The Office, you used to be my favorite sitcom, now you're not, but having the chance to go out on its own terms is definitely a plus, hopefully it will boost the writing (like Michael's departure/post-departure did on the last 9 episodes of season 7). In any case, seasons 2-5 are definitely fondly remembered by my vocal cords.

  4. A good thing really, the show hasn't been the same these past few seasons, I kind of wish they'd ended it when Steve Carell left.

  5. Not a big shock with the moves on the Dwight farm spinoff, and the full season order of the MJFox comedy vehicle. I am glad that the show will get it's opportunity like Fringe to write the end of the story and go out on their own terms, which is a rarity for shows as well as fans. I also hope that this bodes well for the future chances of Community and PRecs, as those are still wonderfully creative programs. I will look forward to hopefully see the writers/cast step their game up a few notches and bring this show to a satisfying close.

  7. Hopefully with the knowledge that this will be the last season the writer's will come up with some great ideas and bring the show back to how awesome it was in Season's 2 and 3.

  8. Uh, hi, I'd like to know why my comment was deleted. Confused I am.

I don't think there was anything wrong with it, unless it's wrong to say that seasons 2-5 of The Office were outstanding, that getting a proper final season will hopefully boost the writing, that both 30 Rock and The Office ending is good for Community and Parks & Rec and that the order of the Michael J. Fox series yesterday was probably no coincidence. If it is, I plead guilty.

  9. I'm glad they've finally decided to put The Office out of its misery, albeit a few seasons too late.
