The 2012 STV Favourite TV Series Competition - Day 25 - Game of Thrones vs. Pushing Daisies & Fringe vs. Firefly

6 Aug 2012

Hey folks,

Yesterday was our biggest and closest round of polls so far, as Hawaii 5-0 and LOST edged through by the smallest of margins, leaving Sherlock and Moonlight being so close but yet so far. All four shows have shown strong fan bases, and so Hawaii 5-0 and LOST both stand a decent chance of a strong performance by the end of the competition.

Today marks the beginning of round three and we have some crackers to get us going, as firstly HBO's epic Game of Thrones takes on the little show that should in Pushing Daisies. We also have another meaty Abrams vs. Whedon battle as Fringe takes on Firefly in a poll that is destined to get fans going and excited. It could get messy!

If you want to see the draw for the rest of the competition, and see which show will take on which other show then head HERE for a look.

  2. Easy for me today. Game of Thrones and Fringe...

Think the Fringe/Firefly battle could turn epic!

  4. There is no other choice for me today,it is FRINGE!!

If Fringe wasn't up against Firefly then i would have gone with that but my heart belongs to Fringe, it always will! and of course GOT!

  5. Easy one today, Game of Thrones and Firefly!

  6. Game of Thrones and Firefly. Never watched a full episode of Pushing Daisies, watched GoT and while I was a Fringe fan, I fell out of love with it. Besides, I was a Firefly fan even before Fringe entered my radar, so Firefly it is.

  11. Oh crap Fringe vs Firefly is like deciding between your favourite child! I went for Fringe but I still adore you Firefly. As for the other clash, damn another tough one, went for GOT but PD is still fantastic.

  12. Abrams vs Whedon battle? Whedon. Every time. Every day of the week, and twice on Sunday. Thank goodness it's Sunday.

Loved the first season of Game of Thrones, it was the most faithful adaptation of a book I've ever seen. Second season strayed a little, but came home strong. Heck, I'd vote for it on main titles alone: they are awesome.

I like Fringe, it had a rough first couple of seasons, but it's found its way even if the multiple universes and timelines messes need swept up now and again. However, I LOVE Firefly. Don't cross Gina Torres, don't be mean to Jewel Straite, and don't vote against Captain Tightpants.

  13. Pushing Daisies and Fringe for me.

  14. Not a hard choice. Fringe all the way!! I am planing on watching firefly sometime in the very near future but until then, fringe wins my heart and my vote. Just an all round brilliant show and easily one of the best I've ever seen on tv.

  15. I love you Firefly, but it's Fringe. Always.

  16. First one easy with Game of Thrones.
2nd one could have gone either way, but although the one season of Firefly was fantastic, the so far 4 ones of Fringe still outshines the 'verse.

  17. Two of my favorite shows today, voted for Fringe and Game of Thrones. Id like to see both shows make it to the finale.

  19. HOW CAN YOU PUT PUSHING DAISISE V. GAME OF THRONES....LIKE APPLES V. BANANAS!

  20. Hmm.... I guess I'll have to go with THE TWO BEST SHOWS ON TV!!! Fringe and Game of Thrones.

    ReplyDelete
  21. It's gotta be Fringe, sorry Joss...

    ReplyDelete
  22. Yep,exactly right!

    ReplyDelete
  23. Yep,Nuff!! ;)

    ReplyDelete
  24. Fringe, of course.

    ReplyDelete
  25. How are you my friend?

    ReplyDelete
  26. Fringe and Pushing Daisies for me.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Unfortunately they are both in the same bracket. They will compete against each other next so only on will get to the finals.

  28. Pushing Daisies and Firefly.

  29. Well lets see,no car and i haven't any idea when it will be fixed and up and running so i am literally stuck in the country,no car,no bus service. Will now need to use a cab,but even he is having car problems,etc,etc....So you know i'm hanging in there! Its been very hot and muggy,so thick at times one feels like they can't breath, half of the country is baking away! My back is finally starting to feel a little better,i can at least be vertical long enough to take a shower, yay! How about you?

  30. Sorry to hear.
Doing ok. very busy with work. Other projects at home and getting ready for company. Hoping for no more bad news about friends. I've had enough over the last two or three months. The funeral of my friend's daughter was this weekend. I haven't had the nerves to read about it yet.
And of course waiting for Fringe to come back :)

  31. Oh my god, I realized that I love fringe more than Firefly. I do not know how to feel about this.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Is it that devastating?

    ReplyDelete
  33. almost impossible so, yet I must carry on

    ReplyDelete
  34. Easily Pushing Daisies for the first one. Fringe and Firefly is tougher, but largely because there's so much less to go on with Firefly. Because of that, my vote went to Fringe. I feel like it has done more with the episodes it has than Firefly did with the episodes (and movie) it had.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Yet again no competition.

While pushing Daisies was brilliant, Game of Thrones blows it out of the water.

Same with second. I deeply love Fringe, I really do, but no one and nothing can beat my love for the brilliance that was Firefly.

  37. Easy Game of Thrones and Fringe.

    ReplyDelete
  38. TOugh votes for me today as I love all 4 shows, but in the end had to go with the gut and it was GoT and Fringe

    ReplyDelete
  39. Firefly Vs Fringe? That's the toughest choice yet. I love both shows. I voted Firefly because I think Fringe will win without my vote and I wanted Firefly to have the love.

GoT all the way for the other. I did like Pushing Daiseies, but no where near as much as I like GoT.

    ReplyDelete
  40. No, it didn't get enough votes in the nomination phase to make it through to the competition

    ReplyDelete
  41. FRINGE... OF COURSE THE WINNER WILL BE FRINGE. *Sends a lot of positive Vibes*
I can see into the future and YUP it's gonna be FRINGE ^^!

    ReplyDelete
  42. How could it be a hard choice if you confess you never watched Firefly? That's ONE of the reasons why these polls are all f*ucking b*llshit. The Wire beaten by The OC? A chimpanzee would've laughed at that voting.

    ReplyDelete
  43. why are the polls closed? they should have only just opened

    ReplyDelete
  44. Polls are closed after 24hrs.

    ReplyDelete
  45. That's why I said not a hard choice

    ReplyDelete
  46. fringeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!
