The 2012 STV Favourite TV Series Competition - Day 24 - Hawaii 5-0 vs. Sherlock & LOST vs. Moonlight

4 Aug 2012

Hey folks,

Yesterday was a strong showing from Castle, which continues to show why it may just have a chance of going all the way in this years competition. To do so, it must first do battle with Buffy the Vampire Slayer in the next round, as the Joss Whedon hit beat Alias comfortably.

In what is the final day of a slightly longer than expected Round two, we have the remake of Hawaii 5-0, a very popular hit for CBS, taking on the BBC's current massive hit in Sherlock. It's tough to call, but with Sherlock taking out Dexter in round one, it's seems likely the 5-0's face a tough battle today. We also have the hit show LOST taking on the cancelled-before-its-time Moonlight, which managed to beat The Sopranos in round one and show its strength on STV. It should make for an interesting day to say the least.

If you want to see the draw for the rest of the competition, and see which show will take on which other show then head HERE for a look.

  3. Hawaii 5-0 and lost. The only shows from today that I've seen.
Of the few episodes I saw of Hawaii 5-0 I didn't mind it and lost is, well, it's lost. Always will be one of the most incredible shows on television

  4. Sherlock and Lost.

  5. Easy choice today - I'm infatuated with Hawaii Five-O and you'll never see me vote against Lost unless it's up against the X-Files.

  6. Nothing can beat Hawaii 5-0, so that was easy. Never seen either of the other two.

  7. Sherlock! No question!
I don't like Lost, and I have never watched Moonlight before, so neither shows for me

    ReplyDelete
  8. Today was a tough pick for me because I love all the choice's but I had to go with Sherlock and Lost...

    ReplyDelete
  9. Sherlock and LOST today... honestly, I expected the second poll to be a bloodbath, but at the moment Moonlight is holding its own. Still, I don't think it's a contest.

  10. Lost!! Still miss this brilliant show. It had everything, great cast, great plot. There is no other show like it.
Voted for H5O in the first poll, but I´m not a big fan.

  11. Sherlock. I like Hawaii 5-0, but Sherlock is one of my the favorite Tv Series.

  12. Sherlock and Moonlight as I never watched LOST!

  13. Sherlock and Lost. I can't quite get into Hawaii 5-0, though I keep trying.

  14. easy one this time.

Sherlock because its a superior show and I am sad Moffat could not bring to DR.Who that brilliance he is displaying in writing sherlock, How one man can create such a brilliant show as Sherlock and at same time ruin Doctor Who is beyond me. So voting Sherlock.

In the second, while Moonlight was fracking fantastic and undeservedly got canned, LOSt was and is one of the best genre shows in last decade or so. So, LOST.

  15. Definitely Sherlock!!! And Moonlight!

    ReplyDelete
  16. Easy choice this time: Sherlock and Lost.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Never watched Sherlock, I do love H50, so I am there for that one and I can't stand Lost and never watched Moonlight, so no voting in that poll.

  18. Hawaii Five-0!!!!!!!!

  19. and Moonlight for me!

    ReplyDelete
  20. The only two shows I've seen much of this time are LOST and Moonlight so my vote goes to Moonlight.

    ReplyDelete
  21. I like H50 but its Sherlock and Lost for me!

    ReplyDelete
  22. Very easy here, Lost and Sherlock!

    ReplyDelete
  23. Sherlock & LOST of course ...

    ReplyDelete
  24. Just Lost for me today.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Hawaii and Moonlight! Ohh and tomorrow's going to be Fringe vs Firefly? That's going to be a big battle!

    ReplyDelete
  26. 24 lost to BSG and BSG lost to Friends? Really?

Hopefully Lost wins the final then...

    ReplyDelete
  27. whoa! the last poll is way too close for my taste! LOST, obviously and although I enjoy Hawaii Five-0, Sherlock still has the better stories.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Hivemind! Gimme Five! :)

    ReplyDelete
  29. Lost won't win the finale that's for sure, there are other shows that are too popular right now. It will probably come down to SPN & Castle, tho Fringe might just surprise everyone!

    ReplyDelete
  30. And another Five! :)

    ReplyDelete
  31. Picked Sherlock in the end. Unexpectedly a tough choice though - great drama vs a guilty pleasure and I really enjoy both.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Hawaii five-0 and Moonlight!!! Very easy choice. I love Sherlock, but Hawaii is one of the best shows on tv. And Moonlight is amazing, so that was no contest! And both of the shows have Alex O'Loughlin, and he's just awesome :D

    ReplyDelete
  33. Here's hoping for Fringe if it's not going to be Lost - the show deserves to win something after all.

thats so easy, Hawaii five-0 & Moonlight of course, at the moment H50 is the best show very enjoyable & the story line is getting more exciting, Moonlight was & always will be an epic vamp show...GO FIVE-0

    ReplyDelete
  35. I agree,i have been saying that for years!

    ReplyDelete
  36. John Noble deserves an emmy (he'll never get one unfortunately).

    ReplyDelete
  37. my two favorite TV series where moonlight and my all time favorite is hawaii five O those are my two favorite TV show of all time'

    ReplyDelete
  38. Well i have to tell ya,i holding out for John, Anna and the show itself to earn Golden Globes and or SAG Awards! If your gonna go,go big and they deserve those, even if they only get nods from GG or SAG Awards, then at least they would know how there peers feel about them....tho honestly i think they already know just how good they are.....Oh,and don't forget they could still be nominated next year for S5...

    ReplyDelete
  39. I can't believe how close both of these polls are. There is no contest for me in these. Wow.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Wow tough ones this time around. I had to choose Hawaii 5-O since I've never really seen Sherlock. Although, the bits I have seen it does look good.
I also chose Moonlight since I never could get into Lost. I think it's one of those shows you either love or leave.

I hate it when two of my favorites are up against each other :( but I had to go with Sherlock because it is my current obsession ;)

    ReplyDelete
  42. omg! such tough pairings! but in the end i gotta go with Sherlock & Moonlight; though honestly, i have no idea what i'll do if they both win :/

    ReplyDelete
  43. This one is really tough. Love Sherlock and Hawaii Five-0. The only thing I could do was nitpick. I had to pick Sherlock. Much as I love Hawaii Five-0 there have been episodes where my attention wanders until about the end of act 3. Loved Moonlight but it was one of my bubble gum shows.

    Sherlock and Lost

  44. Sherlock and Moonlight(best show Alex has been on IMHO)

    ReplyDelete
  45. puh, that was cloooose!

    ReplyDelete
  46. It really was,now we have to get the Fringe votes in!

    ReplyDelete
  47. Moonlight wasn't given a chance it would be number one now

    ReplyDelete
  48. Moonlight and Hawaii Five-O for me. Alex O'Loughlin captures my heart in both of them.

    ReplyDelete
  49. where...where?? Ok, found it. :))

    ReplyDelete
  50. Wow those polls were ridiculously close! I voted Moonlight though I didn't really think it would win against Lost , and Hawaii 5-0!

    ReplyDelete
  51. WOAH, that was close. Alex O'Loughlin almost took both, shocked that Moonlight came that close to beating Lost.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Sherlock and Hawaii 50 is like comparing a fresh delicious NY steak with a cheap greasy Chesse burger LOL. Wonderful acting in Sherlock against a shirtless guy trying too hard to be a real actor.
Lost ,one of the best shows in TV. I still miss it.
Moonlight was a fantastic show in the wrong network, soporific CBS, the network for grandpa..

  53. Kari o'loughlin5 August 2012 at 23:26

    yeeeeey, Hawaii five-0 roles baby!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  54. Lost & Havaii Five-0. Lost forever.

    ReplyDelete
  55. you do realize that the "shirtless guy trying too hard to be a real actor" was the main vampire in Moonlight dont you? i mean, dont get me wrong, i adore Sherlock & that's how i voted, but dont simply hate on Alex O'Loughlin before you know all the facts

    ReplyDelete
  56. whoop! too bad we lost both of those :/

    ReplyDelete
  57. Yeah ;/ it was so close for both...
