JEFF EASTIN: We were a little concerned there, for awhile. When we pitched that big ending, the head of the studio pulled me aside and said, “You better not have just destroyed the series.” I said, “We’ll crawl our way out somehow.” I figured that we’d figure it out. We write it about a month before, so by the time it was actually filmed, we had a pretty good idea. The biggest question was, “Are we going to be able to go film on an island?” If we weren’t, there was going to be a joke that they were going to come on an announce that the plane was being re-routed back to JFK, and that would be the end of it. But thankfully, the studio network got together and we were able to go do two episodes on an island, which was awesome.

ReplyDeleteThe whole point of posting an article is so that people "know something" that they did not know beforhand. Otherwise the site would be kinda boring :)
I understand that but in past you have listed Spoiler Alerts on various things that were posted.Of course i expect it to happen,i'm just saying a warning would have been nice.

ReplyDeleteWe don't have the time, resources or ability to go through every piece of information and categorise the information depending on how spoilerly we think it is. Every one has different opinions about how big or small a certain spoiler is. Who should be the judge?
If we had put the text "spoiler alert" would you have read the interview?
In all likely hood i probably wouldn't of. When Spoiler Alerts was posted in the past most of the times i didn't,but if i did i at least knew what i was getting into.

ReplyDeleteI've come across this argument on Get Glue too and it always surprises me. My take is that everything on a site called SpoilerTV is fair game. If you don't want to be spoiled, there are non-spoiler places to go. To be honest, I have been spoiled just as much by the recent comments section as anything else. When it happens I shrug it off and move on because I chose to be on a spoiler-focused site.

The article itself clearly states that there are spoilers involved. I'm surprised you thought an interview with a show's creator right before his show premiered for the season would NOT have spoilers in it. They all do. Regardless, going on to this thread pretty much guarantees that the comments section is going to mention spoilers too. If you want to be spoiler-free for White Collar, it makes more sense that you avoid any thread about it until the show airs. Oh and I would also avoid reading the recent comments on the side because spoilers have a way of popping up there too.
ReplyDeleteI am ecstatic about getting flash backs into Neal's youth. I love knowing the origins of a character and Neal's seems more interesting than most. For me learning more about Neal's dad as a corrupt cop and how that shapes Neal is more intriguing than music boxes and missing girlfriends. Not sure I like that Neal is still hiding things from Peter, but if they are making a concerted effort to keep Neal from coming off as a jerk then I trust them. White Collar has done a great job of not letting me down so I don't expect this season to be any different.
ReplyDeleteDahne,really i've been here long enough to know,i made a comment,and it has taken a life of its own....I must of missed the clearly written "Spoiler" in the article. I am trying to move on without having everyone bring up a fact that i already know.My point was that "Spoiler Alert or May Contain spoilers" have been posted along with the article,or interview either in the header,or in the beginning of the article. This is not my first day here,can we please just leave this alone already?
