  1. I don't know anything about this actor but if his pictures are anything to judge by, he can do menacing well.

  2. I watched BSG but I don't really remember him. His role was really supporting.

From what I've read he is not going to be the big bad. So I hope he stays after S8. They need to expand the SPN family.

  3. For those people who watch(ed) Eureka, he was the first version of "deputy Andy."

  4. That little "ed" in parentheses is so sad.

  5. A vampire? I was hoping the monster would be a bit more unique than that. I like the actor from what little I've seen him in though.

  6. He looks scary. That's all I got.

  7. Don't know the actor, but I am interested to see how his character fits in on SPN. Could be good.

  8. It took me a while but I remembered him in BSG.
He does look like he can pull off being a monster(vampire?) in Purgatory,so I'm good with him.

  10. So, Its not Gordon or YED as we all speculated. But, our guesses were nearly correct. According to the article he acted in on the episodes previously on the show.

  11. ha, I knew he looked familiar. thanks, this saved me from going to IMDb

  12. from what I've heard he's not going to be a good guy, he may not be the big bad but he aint gonna be the Winchester's best buddy either. He and Dean will help each other out because they have to but everything we've been told so far suggests this is not going to end well for Dean.

  13. well we were told Vampires would be a pretty big theme this season. Benny, the alpha vamp, pirate vamps? sounds good to me.
I'd really like to know what else Dean got up to in Purgatory, must be bad if he keeps it from Sam? It cant just be him being indebted wot Benny because he helped him escape surely?

  14. He played the vampire bartender in "Bloodlust". Elanor's mate, I guess. I'm hoping they have it where Dean remembers him or vice versa. But in that episode they had his name as Eli. Don't remember if his name was ever said in that episode though.

  15. a vampire so guess the alpha will defo be back

  16. Egads I was so tired last night that I didn't realize that he is Eli, as in vampire with Lenore Eli. I liked him but now I'm curious about how he turned from cow-blood drinking, almost friend of man to all out savage evil like they've been hinting at. I know AlphaVamp made it hard for Lenore's crew but now that he has a choice again, could he go back to being the funny Eli who always makes me laugh when he says, "Living the dream."

  17. And yet it is Eli, who voluntarily chose not to kill humans before. If anyone can go from bad guy to good guy, he can. Too bad Lenore doesn't get out too. I have a little hope for this new character, although it will probably come crashing down sooner than later.

  18. It was so Benny was just the name they gave us to keep us from knowing right away or Eli was an alias. I'm excited because I liked that character.

    ReplyDelete
  19. I'd say it is very likely. The Levis killed a lot of vamps so AlphaVamp has to be looking for all of his kind that he can get.

    ReplyDelete
  20. I wonder if that's why Jensen was so secretive about him at Comic Con, we knew his name well before CC but Jensen was all 'I'm not allow to say his name' or something like that

    ReplyDelete
  21. I don't think he's supposed to be the same character as Eli.

    ReplyDelete
  22. That puzzled me too. I figured maybe he didn't know the name had leaked. Now I bet you're right. He wanted to keep us from knowing Eli was coming back.

    ReplyDelete
  23. He's a vampire in Purgatory. We know Lenore's crew all turned bad or died when AlphaVamp started mind blasting them. It has to be Eli. No way they bring the same actor to play the same type of monster and then make it a new character. Unless Benny is Eli's evil vamp twin, Benny is Eli.

  24. I don't know if you guys already knew about this.

Update: Ben Edlund confirms that there is no Big Bad for season 8. But, there seems to be lot of villains(some known, some not) Winchesters gotta encounter this season.

I think this season is gonna be a lot different from the previous ones.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I really doubt it. They're just going to do his hair differently and stuff and say it's someone else. It wouldn't the first time a TV show used the same actor to play two different characters. Like the same actress played Lust in "The Magnificent Seven" and Chastity in "Free to Be You and Me".

    ReplyDelete
  26. It's not going to be the same character.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Different character. It wouldn't be the first time they did this.

    ReplyDelete
  28. I think they're supposed to be different characters Dahne, like the woman who played the victim in "The Usual Suspects" and the lady who published the Supernatural books in 4x18.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Not only that, why rename him if he's the same character?

I'd love if he were Eli, but usually renaming means a new character.

    ReplyDelete
  30. So much controversy. Does Benny = Eli or does Benny = Benny?

In a way I kinda hope it's Eli, but why the rename when we know the actor?

    ReplyDelete
  31. It's the article about Benny that zap2it wrote.

    ReplyDelete
  32. If he ends up being a different character then I will be completely puzzled but I'll freely admit you guys are right. However this isn't the first time they gave us a fake name to hide a character's return. After all Ruby 2.0 was called Christie throughout the entire summer hellatus before season 4 aired. Jensen was obviously flustered about giving "Benny" a name. In all these examples of people returning as other characters, they never became a recurring character and they never, ever returned as the same monster they previously played. Until I'm proven wrong, I maintain that Benny will be Eli.

    ReplyDelete
  33. I don't understand why the big secret. Eli isn't a huge deal.

Don't get me wrong- I love the character.

    ReplyDelete
  34. I don't know. Eli was such a minor character, that I don't think a lot of people will remember that it's the same actor. TV Shows do that a lot actually.

    ReplyDelete
  35. As long as the explain that its not the same Vamp from season 2 i mean i do not see why they don't just use him as Eli yeah he had his issues with Sam and Dean but he would not have gotten out of the if it was not for them. Maybe i don't know we will see.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I am sorry, I am not able to find the article again. But I did read about that in the Zap2it article on Benny.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Lots of shows recycle actors. It's not a given he's playing a character who was on the show almost five seasons ago. I didn't even remember him from the ep in question and I've seen that episode several times.

    ReplyDelete
  38. He was also the first Deputy Andy on Eureka, it has been hard to take him seriously since then.
