I don't think anyone will even try to think that Roman is alive, clearly he's dead. I knew that Salome was the one who broke Russell out. Lilth her own agenda is not what everyone claimed it would be. Even Roman was against her, I liked how Godith showed up to Eric and warned him. I don't trust Lilth one bit or Russell
pretty good episode! i really don't care about tara or the stuff about alcide's pack so that stuff was boring but other then that it was good! my favorite part was when bill was on eric's back when they were like high on lilith's blood or whatever
Just and "ok" ep for me as this was more weird setting up than anything. Nice entrance by Lilith if that was indeed her and not a bad trip from partaking of her blood... the Terry story continues to be meh, and the Lafayette story is losing steam, but the other storylines even just being so so look to eventually tie into the upcoming war of supes against humans, so those might have some payoff later, the others I'm not so sure of.
i would rather have spent more time with Terry doing nothing but sitting than deal with the whole Lilith story. The minute Bill and Eric caved and drank that blood everything on that storyline turned toward ridiculously stupid for me. Russell hopped on *that* bandwagon? Really? Way to suck the fun out fo a character. Why bring him back? We were discussing how old Roman was...if he was only 500 why couldn't Salome take him out? That BS she fed Eric in answer to that question made no sense whatsoever.
I'm going to avoid the Sookie power depletion story because it will make me rant angrily.
Why didn't Lafayette rescue himself? He's a main character on the show and he gets saved only because the guy's wife didn't really love him? At least reveal Jesus saved him.
Loved the Sookie and Jason scene. Loved the scene with Arlene and the wedding video...that shot of Terry kissing the baby was sweet.
I know the Sookie power depletion story was coming but I was not prepared to be as annoyed iwth this episode as I was.
Sookie power depletion is because Sookie feels that her being a part fairy is the reason for why her folks got killed. So therefore she wants now nothing more than to rid herself of her powers. A normal life means she won't have to deal with vampires wanting to suck her blood ( She's a fairy), reading people's minds. Giving her powers means that Sookie will be free
There's an interesting juxtaposition in an ancient if not the first Necromancer writing a manifesto/ritual to bring herself back to preform more necromancy, considering the micro-version of this last season, but something about the 'slap-bang' of this season has been a little unsettling, and as a viewer, I find it takes like the whole week to digest it.
I am interested in how and why Lilith set the stage to return in the future, but I hope the motive is only to terrorize, I am hoping maybe there is a story behind the Resurrection of Lilith that is missing from the viewers knowledge, maybe even a connection to "demons", which then would connect Lafayette's story and maybe even Tara's back into the thick of this vampire war.
As for Sookie, it seems like she's hitting a low, one which is kind of selfish, considering that being normal won't change the stage for it is happening all around her. She will only make herself more vulnerable and not be able to save those she cares for. Ironically in a different way, Jason too seems on a destructive path and it's weird to see them both so mad at the same time, but clearly it's because of the truth revealed about their parents...and I hope we find out who killed them, assuming that vampire is alive and well as we know them. (Russell seems the most likely, as Sookie should need her power for revenge)
It was nice to see Pam and Tara warm up to each other a bit, but I still think Tara can turn on a dime, and that her strength could exceeds Pam's command, which there have been some instances...
I thought one of the better scenes was Terry and Patrick's, simply because the scene was a little slower and we had time to sit with it.
Sort of interested that Holly may know of the freets, and suggests to Arlene to believe Terry. -I tend to like Holly more and more as the seasons progress.
It was also nice to see another side to Martha, but that scene with Alcide and the other female wolf seemed forced, and I am sure I am not alone when thinking, "What about Sookie, Alcide!?"...He just moved on so fast! -But at least he's still anti V...
I am not really sure where it's all going, where and how everyone may meet up again, I just hope the last few episodes go a little slower...
I think Godric was the one interesting redeeming part of the Lilith Resurrection...It basically does tell us that there is right and wrong and that in entities from the "beyond" the material world are still 'here' fighting back...but I have to wonder if Nora can be saved??? -And if that becomes the key to something???
I actually think Lilith didn't actually come back from the dead. I think only the ones high on her blood could see her. My theory is she inhabits Nora. The way she sorta glowed red, I think she's in the same state as Goderic (as in dead, but appears like a ghost).
I vote that True Blood just sticks with being fall out crazy. I mean any plot coherence was lost a long time ago and half the plots are boring so just go completely nuts and let Russell take over the world.
We're more than halfway through the season and I'm still not impressed or particularly enthralled by the storylines this season. This episode was just "meh" for me.
I totally understand all of that, and Sookie's motivations. It makes complete sense for her to feel that way. It doesn't change my personal opinion of the plot point. Granted part of my reaction to the plot point could be my personal views of how magic should work (just like some readers reject vampire stories because the author uses a different set of vampire rules.) But I think you either are something or you're not and for me, it's a cop out that feels like the writer(s) regret a story choice are are trying to find a way to wriggle out of it.
Russell was most likely acting. Putting on a class act. He's still the anarchist who just wants to have fun. At least, until he got high on Lilith blood and saw her resurrection, if that indeed was her and not some crazy illusion of the lilith blood.
Anyone besides me who got some deja vus from Queen of the damned with Aaliyah?
Yeah, she was a mass hallucination. I thought it was obvious when Godric said Eric needed to save Nora, then you see her looking at something that clearly isn't there, now that Eric isn't under the thrall of the blood. Blood I'm not even sure is Lilith's. It could've been laced with something that would be the vampire equivalent of, well, V.
Russell is DEFINITELY putting on a show with being a believer. It was so out and out ridiculous, like when he killed Heyerdahl's character and goes, "Oh, Lilith absolves me of that too. Sorry! LOL!". I'm putting money on Russell overthrowing Salome and Nora and thus destroying the Authority altogether.
Good points guys! -It would be interesting to have V for vamps, maybe demon blood?...Although even though she may not be in flesh, doesn't mean that her entity isn't there, same as Godric, and all the other ghosts last season!
Probably the weakest episode of the season so far for me. There was too much time devoted to the subsiduary stories for my liking. Sorry Terry and Patrick (and Arlene) but your story is just not interesting. Even Lafayette's divergence to tie up the Jesus story line wasn't really necessary in my opininion. Still, Russell was fun as always (I have missed him!) and 'drunk on Lilith blood' Eric and Bill were good too.
That's what I think she is, just a ghost like Goderic; or a demon or some sort. I just hope they can pull off this religion plot, as other shows have suffered when approaching anything religious. So far I think they've done a great job, especially since they've not pulled punches, whereas other shows would tone it down to not offend anyone.
Well, the scene at the engagement ceremony with all the vampires feeding on humans was pretty disgusting (and disturbing), not to mention the baby-eater vampire eating the poor little child. I didn't like.
I have no idea what this show is about anymore. This episode just didn't do it for me. They've spent 5 seasons advancing on Bill and Eric's personalities, and now to have the whole being under Lilith's spell or whatever... Bleh.
Could possibly be fairy blood. Pure fairy blood makes vampires behave like drunks or on some sort of drugs. Remember Eric after he drained Claudine last season? Maybe that plot will tie into the current fairy plot Sookie has going on?
As to the books, demons are another race of creatures who live in Faery. Along with sprites, nymphs, angels, elves, goblins, things of that sort. There are half-demons in the book universe, but I can't remember if they were the product of demon/other supe or demon/human unions. It's possible they could introduce a half-demon aspect to Tara, but it would wildly differ from demons in the book series for it to be connected to the type of demon the Bruja is. Demons, in Harris's world, are rather decent folks.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
