Today sees the start of round two, and it's a cracking start with HBO's Game of Thrones taking on Breaking Bad in a battle between two critically acclaimed dramas.
We also have the cancelled-before-its-time Pushing Daisies taking on another critically acclaimed drama in Friday Night Lights in a poll that is sure to divide two different fan-bases.
In the final day of round one we saw Sherlock and Moonlight take their place in the next round, but both face tougher opposition in the next round. Perhaps it was surprising to see both Dexter and The Sopranos exit so early, but surprises are something you can always count on in this competition.

Game of Thrones and Friday Night Lights today. A pretty easy vote as I've still yet to get into Breaking Bad, as much as I'd like too :)
ReplyDeleteBreaking Bad and FNL for me today
ReplyDeleteGame of Thrones and Friday Night Lights.
ReplyDeleteGame of Thrones and Friday Night Lights
ReplyDeleteBreaking Bad (though its losing doesn't really surprise me) and Friday Night Lights.
ReplyDeleteGame of Thrones Vs Breaking Bad? Damn, I love both of those shows. I ended up voting for Game of Thrones becasue I am slightly more of a fan, but really only slightly. Pushing Daisies in the second poll as I have never seen Friday Night Lights.
ReplyDeleteThe first poll is breaking my heart. Both of them have to be in my TOP5 of all TV shows.
ReplyDeleteJust because I think that Game of Thrones might have a bigger following and better chances to advance, it got my vote.
BB & FNL :)
ReplyDeletePretty easy today.Game of Thrones and Friday Night Lights!
ReplyDeletePushing Daisies!
ReplyDeleteI love Friday Night Lights, reminds me of my summers in Massachusetts....anyway i haven't seen Breaking Bad yet so my vote goes to Game Of Thrones and Friday Night Lights! Love, love, love these shows!
ReplyDeleteBreaking Bad. I'm in the middle of season 2 now and I'm loving it. Not a Game of Thrones fan. I haven't watched the other two.
ReplyDeleteIt's not possible that Game of Thrones beats Breaking Bad... come on people, your vote por Walter White!
ReplyDeleteOh you have got to be kidding me. Breaking Bad vs Game of Thrones?
ReplyDeleteUGHHHH...
I have to go with Breaking Bad. It might be different after a couple more seasons of GOT but BB is beyond anything else on television.
Also, Friday Night Lights. Great family/small community sports drama.
Game of Thrones and Pushing Daisies, it looks close in both races but it is early.
ReplyDeleteBreaking Bad >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Game of Thrones
ReplyDeleteThis is a very difficult round - I dearly love all 4 of these show. In both matchups, I'm going to have to give the edge to the longer running series. Strictly on the basis of having achieved longevity without having gone to crap in the later seasons,
ReplyDeleteBreaking Bad and FNL .
Pushing Daisies was a delightful show that should have gotten a longer run - maybe it would have gone bad, but we'll prolly never know.
Game of Thrones is shaping up to be a monumental achievement, but it is still too young to be sure (tho I have a very good feeling that it will suceed).
FNL had a few questionable storylines, but taken as a whole, it pulled of an amazing accomplishment - making me care about High School Football, to which I am generally indifferent-to-hostile.
Breaking Bad - kind of the same. I've had exposure to Southern California tweakers and found them so loathsome that I was reluctant to even venture into this show. But, of course, the show is so much more - holy crap it is so much more. They may bollix it up in the final 16, but that seems like a very remote possibility.
Game of Thrones of course and Pushing Daisies
ReplyDeletefriday night lights losing against pushing daisies? Oh no!
ReplyDeleteGames of thrones \o/ BB is a very good show, but GOT is perfect
I love you Game of Thrones, but Breaking Bad is Breaking Bad.
ReplyDeleteHow were these matchups decided in the beginning?
ReplyDeleteFriday Night Lights today. I don't watch either show in the first poll and I think I stopped watching Pushing Daisies even before it was cancelled. Have to say that Pushing Daisies did have some good lines though. Just not enough to topple FNL.
ReplyDeleteThrones & Daisies. It was tough to go against Breaking Bad.
ReplyDeleteAs much as I enjoy Breaking Bad (in my Top 10 favorite shows), I love Game of Thrones more. That's the only one I voted for today.
ReplyDeleteHow Breaking Bad is losing this I do not know.
ReplyDeleteEasily Breaking Bad and Pushing Daisies for me. Like I've said before, to me Game of Thrones is a great story told poorly, but Breaking Bad is a good story told fairly well. GoT may have more potential on paper, but it just fails to meet that potential.
ReplyDeleteAnd Pushing Daisies is my second favorite show of all time, while I found so many of the characters unlikeable in FNL that I had to drop it early on in Season 1.
Surprisingly easy for me today.
ReplyDeleteFriday Night Lights is one of the most underrated and under-appreciated series ever on TV. Quality acting, quality writing and Peter Berg at his best made for a brilliant series!!
Breaking Bad is one of the best series I have ever watched. Game of Thrones is one of the best series ever as far as production value goes, acting too... but D&D have had their struggles adapting the stellar book series to screen. Season 2 was a bit of a mess in a number of areas (mostly Dany's story and Robb's story).
Breaking Bad
Friday Night Lights
I have mad respect for Breaking Bad, but Game of Thrones is one of my favorite shows, hearts triumphs brains in this one to me.
ReplyDeletei find Breaking Bad a really good show but also too depressing, there's rarely a light moment. i think that's only a negative because ive been watching several episodes a day for the past two weeks, and for a show that heavy, it's best to take your time watching it. I'm at the part where Gus slits Victor's throat with the exacto knife in season 4, gruesome. But anyways, i voted for Game of Thrones based on that reasoning if you can call it reasoning.
ReplyDeleteGame of Thrones,of course and Pushing Daisies,a really underestimated series.
ReplyDeleteBreaking Bad and Friday Night Lights
ReplyDeleteFNL, all the way. All. The. Way.
ReplyDeleteBB of course.
ReplyDeleteEy when is round two of Supernatural?
0 out of 2...also happened to me often this year. And I could have picked BB as well easily instead.
ReplyDeleteAnd that's another poll I missed. >:o I'm subscribed to the feeds, to the twitter account, (individual and general for both) AND I don't get why there are reposts (on twitter) of links of several articles (spoilers, polls of episodes, pictures of set, interviews) and NOT ONE for this competition! I don't know.. it makes me think as though "this site" wants to keep it under the ground so certain series win... O_o LOL! Crazy no? It's not like there's rewards for the series/voters who win or anything like that.. :|
ReplyDeleteWe tweeted it out at least 3 times
ReplyDeleteOh no! I missed voting for this one! I would've voted for Pushing Daisies. At least it won. :)
