  1. If the season premiere was any indication this season is going to be intense. As much as I love upset Michael, I need to see Micheal/Fiona scenes.

  3. I loved this premiere mostly because I like when Michael is a man on a mission and he's certainly that right now. This episode had great pacing and intense scenes that bode well for the season. Can't wait to see where they go from here next week.

  4. The season premiere freaking rocked! Great way to start off the season! I had to replay the intro bit again just to see all the little changes they made, aside from the big ones (like adding in Jesse). Little predictable at the end, but hey, it was still damn good. Hopefully Pearce will be more involved with the catching of Anson and we'll get to see her more (I like her character), and more buddy-buddy work with Sam and Michael.

  5. Loved it. Angry intense Micheal is great to see, but so is a clear headed calming friend like Sam. Loved that Maddie and Jessie got in on the action (and that Jessie is in the new opening credits as well) I really like Agent Pierce and like that she seems to be on Micheal's side. Props to Fiona for figuring out that the interrogator was lying and can't wait for next week.

  6. I'm just happy they changed Fiona from ex-girlfriend to girlfriend in the title sequence. That whole thing didn't make any sense any more. I'd like to see more of Agent Pearce too. Hopefully they will kill off Anson quickly and move on to bigger and better things.

  7. I too liked how they changed Fiona from ex to girlfriend in the intro, and I think they changed Sam to "was forming on you to the FBI" from "who used to inform on you" or maybe I switched those up or am making this up... let's just forget the latter part of this sentence.

Glad they kept Jesse around, at first I was a little worried that he'd mess up the flow but he is a good asset. And I think, correct me if I'm wrong, you were worried about Agent Pearce last year and that she would end up being the one in the finale that Michael said "You've been working with Anson this whole time". I'm glad that we finally got someone helping Michael that didn't turn out to be a mole.

I don't know, the whole show has been about Michael's burn notice as the main driving storyline, so I feel that it should end when that story should end... which as far as I can tell is when Anson is dead. That's not to say I won't watch it, that's more of how I like a story's trajectory to go.

  8. I was pretty conflicted on if to give it a great or ok grade.

On 1 hand, I think my urge to see a new BN episode made me excited just to have an episode. There was your typical explosions & developing story arcs that we all expect.

On the other hand, I felt there was too many "lucky break" points in this episode. Maddie shoots henchman thru a ceiling just off his voice. Guards dont shoot Michael for not putting his hands up. Sam gets lab guy out after explosion. Fi happens to want to see the photos 1 more time & puts 1&1 together on what happened with the rrig. Just too many "suspensions of disbelief" in 1 episode I think.

I have a hunch if this was ep 4 or 5 of the season I wouldnt have liked it nearly as much, but because of the long wait for a new ep, I am willing to overlook so many "thats highly unlikely" moments for now.

  9. LOVED IT! Loved seeing a much darker side of Micheal, loved seeing Jason Bly again who I suspect is working for Anson. Jeff Donovan, give the man an EMMEY!

  10. Great set up for the Man hunt which will dominate Season 6. I loved how Fi is going to have to stay in prison until Michael hunts down Anson! I loved how Maddie got the bad Guy invading her house!

  11. Anson isn't dead he got away, he was too far away when Michael started shooting at the boat.

  12. He's not saying that Anson is dead, just that he thinks the whole burn notice story line will end when Anson is dead. Basically we are disagreeing on the importance of Anson in the overall story.

  13. Yeah I was worried about Pearce. I too am glad she did not end up being a mole. It's nice to know Michael can trust more than just the core characters. I think bringing Jesse and Pearce on ended up being a good idea even though I was leery at first. Pearce should become increasingly important as Michael gets more involved in the CIA.

As for Anson, I guess this show has not been about the burn notice for so long to me that it wouldn't bother me if it moved beyond that scope for the overarching story. Now that Michael is with the CIA there are so many ways for the story to go. Maybe Michael hunts down traitorous spies and gets them burned in order to keep the title relevant.

  14. I hope Bly is not working with Anson. I love that snarky character and I hope he and Michael become uneasy, distrustful collaborators in tracking Anson down.

  15. That's true, the show hasn't specifically been about the burn notice in a while. But when Carla got introduced and Management and Vaughn, we kept seeing the layers of this elaborate organization unfold, I kept wondering who was the one at the top, who was the one who started it all. So I always assumed the burn notice side of the story would end when the top tier dude died.

Although your idea of Michael hunting down traitorous spies sounds intriguing. There are tons of ideas that could keep this show going, and as long as its good, I'll still watch and most likely enjoy it.

At any rate, just so this is out there. I like that we disagree, it gives us an opportunity to discuss this show that we both very much enjoy. So thank you for that, for being a good person to discuss the show with and give me a different perspective of it. I always sometimes worry about the random IMDb type person on here that ends up just arguing for the sake of arguing.

  17. Sorry for taking so long to comment back. Supernatural is keeping me very busy these days. I agree that there are a whole lot of ways Michael can go once he is more established in the CIA Actually I would prefer if he didn't have anything to do with burn notices while in the CIA whether it is the title of the show or not. There are so many more complex and interesting ways to go. I'm with you, as long as the characters and stories are compelling I'll be in front of the TV watching it.

I also like that we can discuss what we disagree about. It makes the conversation a lot more interesting and it helps me see a new perspective too. Mostly though it keeps Burn Notice fresh in my mind and my interest peaked for the next episode. I love theorizing about what's going to happen and debating character points. Thanks for indulging me. This is such a good site for actual conversation instead of flame wars.
