For those of you who were disappointed to hear Nathan Fillion wouldn’t be attending Comic-Con on behalf of Castle, take heart. We think this bit of news is going to cheer you up, big time.

Joss Whedon’s beloved, short-lived television series Firefly will be celebrating its tenth anniversary with a panel at SDCC this year! This was confirmed via a comment on Facebook by the show’s executive producer, Tim Minear.

No other details, such as guests, were mentioned. But if Tim’s considering attending, it should be well-represented by cast and crew. We’ll bring you more information as we uncover it.

  6. If Fox brings back this show, I guess, it would be second or third rated on the network.

  14. Somehow I knew Nathan Fillion would make his way to Comic-Con without Castle... I just didn't expect him to bring the whole epic series with him! Shiny!

  18. And for the first time I wish I could go to Comic Con. The crowds have gotten so huge that I haven't had the desire to attend over the last few years. Hopefully they'll do like the Paley festival did and make official videos available.

  19. And the mystery is solved!!! And in all honesty? I'm more excited for him attending for the Firelfy anniversary than I would be for a Castle panel!!
Hope the whole cast can make it! *fingers crossed*

  21. I really hope they do a high-quality webcast of this event. It breaks my little browncoat heart that I won't be there in person.
Have they set a date and time yet? or is it just "sometime during ComicCon"?

I'm REALLY curious about the never-before-seen footage. I've read the scripts - the stuff on the cutting room floor... wanna see that, too.
