Based on the best-selling book series, THE VAMPIRE DIARIES is the story of two vampire brothers, obsessed with the same gorgeous girl, who are battling to control the fate of an entire town. In season one, Stefan and Damon Salvatore returned to their hometown of Mystic Falls, Virginia, for very different reasons. Stefan was determined to get to know Elena Gilbert, who bears a striking resemblance to Katherine Pierce, the beautiful but ruthless vampire the brothers knew and loved - in 1864.
Damon, on the other hand, was intent on releasing Katherine from the tomb where he believed she was trapped by a witch's spell all those years ago. In the explosive season finale, Elena's uncle set a plan in motion that saw the return of the vengeful Katherine Pierce. In season two, Katherine's appearance and her precise manipulation threw a wrench into the love triangle between Stefan, Elena and Damon. Stefan and Damon later faced their greatest challenge yet - the arrivals of Elijah and Klaus, two of the powerful "original" vampires. Season three revealed the history of Klaus and The Original Family, as well as the surprising friendship Klaus and his sister Rebekah shared with Stefan decades earlier - until Klaus compelled Stefan to forget they'd ever met. In the present day, Klaus' return led to Stefan's descent back to his violent "Ripper" ways. Elena and Damon worked together to bring Stefan back from the edge, even as they struggled with the guilt of their growing bond.
Meanwhile, Klaus found himself irresistibly drawn to Caroline Forbes, forcing Caroline's boyfriend, Tyler Lockwood, to break his sire bond to Klaus and claim Caroline as his own. Finally, the life of Alaric Saltzman, Elena and Jeremy's trusted teacher and guardian, took a terrifying turn when Klaus' mother, Esther, used witchcraft and Bonnie's unwilling help to turn Alaric into a powerful vampire who hunts down and destroys other vampires - the ultimate vampire hunter. Season Four begins with the knowledge that everything is changing. As Elena and her friends enter into the final stretch of high school before graduation sends them off on different paths, their bond to their home town of Mystic Falls takes on a deeper meaning when a new villain seems intent on destroying it.
The series stars Nina Dobrev as Elena Gilbert, Paul Wesley as Stefan Salvatore, Ian Somerhalder as Damon Salvatore, Steven R. McQueen as Jeremy Gilbert, Kat Graham as Bonnie Bennett, Candice Accola as Caroline Forbes, Zach Roerig as Matt Donovan, Michael Trevino as Tyler Lockwood and Joseph Morgan as Klaus.
Based on the series of books by L. J. Smith, THE VAMPIRE DIARIES is from Bonanza Productions Inc., Outerbanks Entertainment and Alloy Entertainment in association with Warner Bros. Television and CBS Television Studios with executive producers Kevin Williamson ("Scream," "Dawson's Creek"), Julie Plec ("Kyle XY," "Wasteland"), Leslie Morgenstein ("Gossip Girl," "Private") and Bob Levy ("Gossip Girl," "Privileged").

This tells us nothing about new season.Joseph Morgan Is listed as regular so the cast list Is unreliable.
ReplyDeleteThis is mainly a recap, doesn't tell us anything we don't already know.
ReplyDelete"The final stretch of highschool before graduation". Oh please, this show hasn't even pretended its characters to be in school for the last 2 seasons.
ReplyDeleteBut this new villain business is interesting. Anything more terrifying than pussy!Klaus will do.
True but since the finale has aired they could at least get the returning cast right.
ReplyDeleteYou should realize Alaric is not listed but klaus.is, it could also mean that klaus will be back in his body sooner that we think
ReplyDeleteJoseph Morgan is listed as a regular because Joseph Morgan is still a regular.
ReplyDelete"Oh please, this show hasn't even pretended its characters to be in school for the last 2 seasons."
ReplyDeleteIf that were actually true, it would make the fact that these people keep planning and attending school dances really creepy.
I honestly think Jo Mo will be back next season. Julie Plec loves him too much to kill him off (I, personally, don't care for him at all). Technically, we never saw his entire body burn...
ReplyDeleteSchool dances are about the only connection they have to high school. We certertly never see them In Class anymore. If It wasn't for the school dances at times you wouldn't know they were suspose to be in High school.
ReplyDeleteTheir obsession with regular school dances is rather creepy, but okay :-). Highschool's been a couple of years ago but I vaguely remember something about classes, tests, assignments, exams, and so on. Haven't seen any of those mentioned on TVD in some time.
ReplyDeleteHow are they oging to explan that. They destroyed his body In the finale.
ReplyDeleteIt's better that they don't spend all that time in high school because it's not really an important aspect of the show and, more importantly, if you were to have these characters hanging out in high school it would look really awkward. These people are all in their mid-twenties now and would look really out of place amongst actual high school age kids.
ReplyDeletehis body is not been destroyed. we were shown Alaric closed the coffin after staking him. they never showed weather her burnt fully or not.
ReplyDeleteJoseph Morgan is pretty much in season 4. Julie Plec also confirmed. Klaus will leave Tyler's body soon and be in his. which is a great thing because Joseph is Klaus and no one else
They just set him on fire a little. And then they closed the casket, maybe he will heal a bit. Or he will show up as Tyler's alter ego--like in a mirror or something. I don't have a lot of faith that Michael Trevino could play Klaus.
ReplyDeleteNo, they didn't. Flames started to burst around the stake at which point Alaric shut the coffin, cutting off the oxygen supply and presumably the fire too.
ReplyDeleteIn post-finale interviews, Julie Plec basically said the body is not unsalvagable, the possession of Tyler is temporary, and she's not getting rid of Joseph Morgan.
They mention school when it's convenient for a character beat or when they need to use the building for a confrontation of some sort but that's about it.
ReplyDeletethe same recap crap we want to know the month of season 4 began no this
ReplyDeleteCW won't start airing new episodes of ANY of their shows until October.
ReplyDeleteI assumed the body was destroyed with It being on fire.
ReplyDeleteThat's what I assumed at first also. Unfortunately, the show has set it up so that if Klaus dies, half of the cast dies with him so they'll probably never really kill the character.
ReplyDeleteDisqus generic email templateO.K perfect what a waist of time to write this for press release is a recap for all season (????????) the same thing with supernatural (????????) we hope they move the vampire diaries story line forward because if they continue in high (comon that’s sucks)
ReplyDeleteWell I thought the entire purpose of putting Klaus In Tyler's body was to get around the those that come from his bloodline plot.
ReplyDeleteI don't see how that would be a workaround for the bloodline ties.
ReplyDeleteNot so sure about that. Every other year they started airing their shows around the 2nd week in Sept.
ReplyDeleteIt was already announced this morning that the fall CW season would start in October this year.
ReplyDeleteShe even said that the body was not completely destroyed. He'll be back, it may take a few episodes, but he will definitely be back.
ReplyDeleteClearly they are still figuring out who the new "big bad" is of the season, hence the vague press release.
ReplyDeleteI read that after I commented. It seems odd to me. But maybe I like it. Less breaks is always a good thing. That's one upside to cable.
ReplyDeleteThere are two potential advantages to this.
ReplyDelete1.) As you mentioned, there will be fewer repeats during the season.
2.) The CW's shows won't be vying for attention with all of the other networks new shows in September when they're more likely to get lost in the shuffle.
Great point. Hopefully that works for them. They need all the help they can get.
ReplyDeleteThat's a good question regarding the next BB, even though I've heard that the writers have deviated from the books lore somewhat, I wonder if there are any book fans who can give us an idea of who/what the next BB might be without going into too much detail?
ReplyDeleteThat and us seeing them in school would be boring, and waste time.
ReplyDeleteYeah. Until the time when they're about to graduate and move on, there's not much point in the show spending any time there.
ReplyDeleteThey never give any real spoilers in these press releases. You won't here anything like that for at least a month or two.
ReplyDeleteI hope Joesph Morgan is going to be in the 4th season i hope Klaus body did not get destroyed that would suck.
ReplyDeletecant wait for it to come back fuck all u haters so what they are still in high school and who is what age.
ReplyDelete
