Yay! I fully expect a season nine and for that to be the final season. (Although I'd love if it hit season ten for the sheer fact that SPN would be on for a decade.)
ReplyDeleteI love that Pedowitz is a huge fan of SPN and watches the show!
Title and tweet are two different things.
ReplyDeleteAll it means is it's not planned to be the final season, if the ratings suck, it will still be gone.
I'm not really sure that's what he meant but it does sound good. I think he means if it keeps going the way it is but anything could happen between now and next year.
ReplyDeleteOf course they're not assuming that, but it doesn't mean they're not gonna change their minds or sth.
ReplyDeleteSo I'm just trying to be positive about this new season, whether it's gonna be the last or not, I want it to be GREAT, at least better than Seasons 6&7 which are good, but not the best.
ABSOLUTELY AWESOME NEWS!!!
ReplyDeleteI think "Season 8 not planned as a final season" is the title you're looking for here.
ReplyDeleteI think the title just mean it won't be announce as a final season cause they were a lot of rumors here and there about that
ReplyDeleteMy heart stopped.lol
ReplyDeleteI'm waiting to see if they'll ever do the "Lucifer and Michael getting out of the cage" plot and revealing who God is.
ReplyDeleteYay! Best news all week! I am happy to hear that the president of CW wants this great show to last longer. When the president of a company supports you, that is always a good thing. I should know, I have had it happen to me personally.
ReplyDeleteYes, this is correct. I wonder how SPN will fare next season in its new slot...
ReplyDeleteFantastic, let's get to 200 episodes guys!! 10 seasons please!! Here's hoping that it does well on Wednesdays, which I'm sure it will, and it'll be back next year!! XD
ReplyDeletethe show has a new creative ,talented and over the top show runner & unique and loyal fans thanks our writing ideas forum the writer take some advice and notes & began to create new story lines
ReplyDeleteIf the show gets back on track with new showrunner Jeremy Carver, hopefully many of the fans who left will return and we'll see a return to even better numbers than the last two years. I would love to see seasons 9 and 10 - if the story-telling is back up to the level of seasons 1-5! I think it's totally reasonable to anticipate that!
ReplyDeleteI love Pedowitz's faith in the show!
I'm with you!
ReplyDeleteLet's see what happens in its new home on Wednesday.
ReplyDeleteGossip Girl tanked in the ratings and still got a planned final season. I'm pretty certain that the CW will do that for Supernatural. It is good publicity and old fans might come back to see it end.
ReplyDeleteI am not liking this new timeslot though, because it is up against Criminal Minds.
ReplyDeleteYay! The New CW president Pedowitz already made a smart move by moving Supernatural to Wednesday night. Now he needs to return to its original format, put the supporting characters back in supporting roles .get them and guest stars out of the spotlight and get this show moving forward again
ReplyDeleteI don't think ratings matter when it comes to this show, they make the money back somewhere else. It probably sells alot on home video
ReplyDeleteYeah!
ReplyDeleteSupernatural has done the near impossible for a tv show.
ReplyDeleteIt's gone to the death slot on a Friday and although it has seven seasons under its belt, it has been re-born to Wednesday like a phoenix from its ashes, and now MP talks openly about not considering season eight to be its last!
On top of that Jared and Jensen hae been invited to the CW upfronts after six years of being completely ignored!
I think its fans should be super-proud of their show.
I'm starting to seriously love this guy.
ReplyDeleteI expect season 10
ReplyDeleteYES!!!!
ReplyDeleteI love how much the head of the network actually loves the show and wants it to succeed
ReplyDeleteAMAZING!!!! i don't know how i'm going to survive when supernatural finishes so lets hope it stays on air as long as possible.
ReplyDeletegreat news :D
This is great news ;) I´m so happy ;)
ReplyDeleteYep, i think ratings would have to suck incredibly to not get renewed for a S9 too even if it's a shorter final season. And with the move to wednesday plus being paired with an anticipated new show, i don't see SPN going down in ratings, i actually hope for the contrary. As long as J2 are in, it could also get a S10, though honnestly there needs to be an improvement in quality next season for me to really want more.
ReplyDeleteAmem!!!
ReplyDeleteThis SPN can last forever!!!
That;s awesome they should do 10 seasons... Bring back Lucifer and Michael
ReplyDeleteI am so happy with this move wed YES! and I will be happy if it goes to season 10 like smallville did CW kept it alive they can do the same with SPN if the guys want it that way.
ReplyDeleteI agree. Just eyeballling the Fall lineup I expect SPN's ratings to *likely beat* Mondays and Fridays (unless ANTM has a much, much better Cycle 19) and very likely HoD. I would be VERY surprised by May of 2013 if SPN was in the bottom third of all The CW shows (at risk of cancellation/short S9) that are going air the season.
ReplyDeleteHappy for SPN fans! Meant to get into this show but could never get around to it.
ReplyDeleteBtw, I think Fringe and it's fans ( myself included ) know a thing or two about the president of their company supports and loves your show.
I'm happy to hear that they're not "planning" it as a last season, but in the off chance the show doesn't hold up on Wednesday I do hope they give them a decent heads up to wrap up the season.
ReplyDelete(having said that I have good faith the show will do well in the new timeslot. It's survived all the moving around so long, it would be odd if they didn't now).
If the fans are loyal, the ratings won't suck. Fans will watch.
ReplyDeleteAh, on any other network besides CW and FOX (see Fringe) you would be right. However, Supernatural will get the final season treatment when it does end. After all this is the network that just renewed 2 shows that got 0.4 in demos.
ReplyDeleteI think if the numbers do go up for SPN it will be because of the people who catch up on Netflix. It is getting very positive reviews this way that will hopefully stem any drop in the ratings that might come from a change in nights.
ReplyDeleteIndeed.
ReplyDeleteI hope some of the fans that gave up in S6 come back now that we have a new showrunner. We have to spread the word to those fans.
ReplyDeleteI like that metaphor :D
ReplyDeleteSupernaturals ratings were the best from all the other shows this year you look that up on www.imdb.com Supernatural is the best show out there i hope they go to season 12
ReplyDeleteI have mixed feelings about this. I haven't seen the finale yet (I know, I know...), but I fully expected to want an 8th and final season. Then again, with Sera Gamble stepping down as showrunner, maybe the show will become truly great again, and I'll get psyched for the possibility of a 9th season. Ultimately, I suppose I'm on board with this. We'll see how it goes!
ReplyDeleteWith the new change, I think Supernatural will get better, and if not, I know for sure that Pedowitz won't let it fall on season 8, it will at least get renewed for a 9th and final season. Although I'd like to see the show reach season 10, that would be awesome. I'd love to see the faces of the people who lost faith on the show after season 5, like Kripke for example, he thinks the show sucks now. Well the fans (including me) and Carver, and the rest of the crew are going to prove him that what doesn't kill you makes you stronger!! Long live Supernatural!
