It looks like Cas will come around and start fighting again later on the episode, and that's awesome cuz that's more like who he is. But i get that he wants to stay out cuz he feels he can't take anymore guilt and regrets if he messes up again. I'm hoping the Winchesters, specially Dean, are the ones who get some sense into him to get back on the fight and do the best he can to clean up his mess... Crazy!Cas is really fun but i want the Cas i love back!
Gah, can't wait to see the rest of this scene and how Crowley reacts to see Cas alive... from the last episode it sure doesn't look like he'll be surprised and i hope Meg survives the finale cuz i'm really liking her now... which means changes of surviving are few :/ It seems like Crowley will betray the brothers but that would be way too easy so i'm guessing if something goes wrong it'll be due to something else maybe... but Crowley will sure play both sides.
i'm worried about what's gonna happen with Bobby... whatever it is i really want, at least, one scene with Sam, Dean, Cas and Bobby cuz i miss it... Also, it's about time we get to see Cas reaction to Bobby's death
I really can't wait to see this episode with all the gang back together and Sam&Dean working as a team! it all looks awesome, so i hope we can finish this kind of boring season with a bang!
So by letting the leviathans out Castiel has pretty much wiped out his Garrison. The remaining Angels from the thousands Castiel killed by his own hand have now been eliminated by the Leviathans.A few perhaps left in hiding. The way Castiel acts now must be ( in part) denial for all hes done, all the lives he took in Heaven and on Earth by his own hands which continue to be taken by the Leviathans, the beasts he set free from Purgatory. Castiel is responsible for Bobbys death, Ellies too the one kind Purgatory resident who was Bobbys friend and ex lover and who has helped the boys out that Castiel tortured to death. Facts which the showrunners just don't address or acknowledge, a tactic they've used before (Hello Season 5) They can't address them as there is no plausible way to do so and bring Castiel back
On the positive side the later part of this season has been pretty good with Sam and dean now brothers closer than ever and leaders in a solidly united team Returning the heart and soul to this show and when they are in place everything else seems to work better and fit too
He said that there may be some angels into hiding... I don't think the Leviathans killed Inias on 7x21 for example, did they? I hope so, cuz I really liked the guy.
But I'm wondering now, Cas should start loosing his powers now, right? I mean that's what supposedly happened in the 2014 future, when all the angels left.
seems like whats going on in his head is a whole lot of avoidance, he gets these guilty looks every so often and he keeps talking around the issues. It seems to be an act.
It doesnt really matter what Cas did to Sam now .Dean has a relationship /friendship with Cas the writers wont have Cas walk on broken glass to get forgiveness that is only Sam's punishment.
Sam forgiving Cas so easily just sealed Cas's redemption because Sam apparently doesnt have the right to be angry with anybody regardless of what they do so Dean talking to Castiel isnt that much of a problem nobody will think less of him for doing it.
I agree that he's avoiding. His attitude isn't coming from a place of strength, where he's accepted everything and found inner peace, but rather he's not fully accepting the reality yet. I don't agree that it's an act. It's more like the psychology behind repressed memories.
Yes, for what we know, Cas should be losing his powers. Maybe he is keeping his angelic battery charged because he isn't using his powers a lot? In season five, he was drained by huge effort like the time-travel. Following bees is certainly easier :-)
I wish there was somebody on the staff whose sole fonction would be to keep an eye on the continuity.
We never had an explanation as why Dean eyes weren't burned when he killed zachariah for example.
I'm sure the amulet would be written in capital letter on the writers board too.
Oh yeah... I don't really mind this new Cas, I actually like him a lot... he kind of reminds me to Walter Bishop from Fringe hehe, but he's attitude towards fighting and taking responsability for his own mess, definately needs to change. Cas is a fighter at his core and it's really heartbreaking to see him giving up the fight or even be scared to keep fighting :( Also, this new rambling Cas irritates Dean in a new way, and Cas exasperating Dean is always amusing to see haha.
I'm not worried about Crowley cuz he's a survivor and I'm having the feeling that something big is gonna happen with him on the finale or next season... The whole "Crowley is always the problem" and Mark Sheppard's insisting on whether there's more to Crowley than we know have me seriously curious... I really want to see this episode already to know what to expect next season.
Yes. That's sad. I'm glad Cas is out of his mind now or he would go suicidal. In the scene with the angels in 721. I could swear he looked disappointed when Meg saved him.
Because they are ready to jump on each other throat? :-)
what does that mean the whole garrison, how can that be, is that supposed to mean they allone by one came to Kevin´s home and Edgar killed them all, wouldn´t that mean what Cas found at his house would be hundreds of corpses, and no one noticed? Are there many garrisons or does that mean almost all angels are gone? I am so worried about what tHE cliffhanger could be.
I agree, it definately doesn't look like an act... and more than just denial I agree with numer0six that he's afraid to kill or hurt even more people if he keeps fighting.
Love the comparison between Cas and Walter. Especially season one Walt ♥
I think he is not scaredt to fight per se. Cas is scared he could hurt or kill again. At least with the bees he is emotionally safe. Following the human may get him involved again and for the moment, he doesn't want to. He doesn't want to fight, or act, or even decide. "It's in your hands now" Yes it's sad but hey, I'm a SPN fan thus an angst-fan ;-)
And as you point, this new turn in the Dean-Cas relation is funny too. I love this character arc. I hope TPTB keep it until next season. Or they could totally surprise me with something even more awesome. I hope Crowley is safe. I have that spoiler in my head saying that a fave fan is going to die. They aren't many fan favorite still alive ... Maybe I am confusing with another show?
I noticed that look too... Cas just wants it over now, but like they said, sometimes the worst punishment is having to live with what you've done, not death, which in this case for Cas it would be like a relief right now, I think.
I think it wouldn´t make sense if he woudl lose his powers, just because no angel is around, then he would lose it every time one is in the, room or just none happens to be hanging out on earth. Also, that is just when it happened, and Cas said they left and assumed that is why he lost his powers, but back then Cas was already gradually losing his powers, like after he first died he was not able to smite demons anymore, and time travelling drained him.And then he did lose them like in 5x4 and was basically human and it wasn´t because angels left but with him already weakened, the sigil thing was like teh last blow that drained him.But then god brought him back with more powers an dfully fixedafter teh second time he died and he could even smite demons again. So it would make more sense if the gradual decline after his first death caused it in 5x4 as well
Uh ohhhhh... Crowley popping in and discovering Cas can't be good news. And I don't doubt for a moment that Castiel will leap into the fray when things get heavy... especially if Sam or Dean is in danger. He may be crazy cakes, and he's definitely repressing, but he's sane enough to realize he doesn't want to be responsible for hurting them again.
Always lurking. If I was a Winchester I would draw an devil trap on the bathroom ceiling before using the shower. We know that Crowley has a smartphone and isn't afraid to use it ;-D
I don't think that Dean has forgiven Castiel yet, though I think he's on his way. I just think that he's a resource that they can't afford to lose right now - he still has access to his mojo as well as centuries full of knowledge that might come in handy. And when all is said and done, as much as he might still be mad at Castiel, I think Dean still considers him one of his own, dysfunctional as the relationship may be.
Their reaction to all their regrets and guilt is definately quite similar and I kind of love it hehe.
And oh, yeah, I'm not meaning he's afraid to fight the Leviathans because they can kill him or anything like that... I mean that he's scared of the consequences to keep fighting. He tried to stop the second apocalypse and thought he actually succeeded, the consequences due to how he chose to do it were even worse. So I can understand why he's on a "I don't want to fight anymore" mood... He probably couldn't take anymore blood on his hands. I haven't read that spoiler from any source, just people commenting about it. I read the one about two fan favourite ending up in an unexpected place .
I think the only fan-favourites left are Crowley, Cas and Bobby... and I hate to see any of them go :S But if I have to choose I prefer Bobby cuz, at least, he got a great death and mourning period and I don't really see what else they could do with his character (though I hope I'm worng and there's story left to tell that doesn't make sob like a baby haha)... and having him around as a vengeful spirit would be just torture at this point, really.
oh megs in trouble now! i would hate it if Cass didnt fight with the brothers in the end. the whole "i dont get aggressive" thing is getting a little old. You owe it to the brothers Cass to go down in flames with them...i hope he helps more than just sitting on side lines
Dean's eyes weren't burnt out because he had technically already said YES to Michael, he killed Zach and basically gave Michael the big GFY before the archangel could get there to take Dean over, I guess he would also have needed a more affirmative Yes when he got there. Dean just got out of there as quick as he could with Sam.
"he prefers to leave it to the winchesters, he trusts them more than he trusts himself..."
That's a beautiful comment. It make my heart shrink a little more.
O yes, there was that "two fan-fave ending in an unexpexted place" I would count Meg as a favorite-fan too. I see a lot of positive comments about her since her return. Each of those four character has history with the others so any mix would be interesting.
And what about the unexpected place? I could see Cas flapping his winged ass to a boudhist monastery :-D
Let's just hope nobody is trapped in the purgatory again.
Maybe, but Dean was worried about Kevin as if there were no more angels left to protect him. I think that there may be more on Heaven or Earth but like Cas says they might have gone into hidding when they saw the Leviathans could kill them... Otherwise, it makes no sense that no other angel appeared to protect Kevin.
Man up, Cas. Or I guess Angel up would be more appropriate. So did Crowley strike a deal with Dick? Or how did he escape? If Dick has the same info as the Winchesters (thanks to Kevin - poor guy) I can't see him letting Crowley go since he's one of the keys to the Levi's demise. So either Bobby had something to do with it, or there's some kind of deal between the two most accomplished liars on the planet. Sounds interesting. I'm sure there will be a whole lot thrown at us in this last episode, I just hope Dean and Sam are more than just by-standers. Please let the Winchesters save the day!!
You may be right. Michael could have been protecting Dean without possessing him yet just like Cas protected Jimy from burn during the hand in the boiling water scene.
It was a strange choice to have Zachariah grace reflected in Dean wide open eyes without explanation anyway:
I really hope they dont leave Cas in any weird place, there's been so much changes on the character since S6 that I kind of need a break. I hope he just stays alive and up to keep fighting... the ending of the character this season is supposed to be satisfying, lol.
If Mark S. is not trolling since S6 maybe one of the fanfourites is Crowley and they're going to reveal more about him that we didn't expect... and the other might be Bobby becoming a vengeful spirit for real :S
Meg is becoming a favourite with the latest episodes (to me, at least, not for everyone) but I wouldn't say she really was before. But it could be her too, yep. I hope she doesn't die, but it wouldn't be a finale of SPN if noone dies, so I don't have my hopes up. lol.
Looks great, typical for a Supernatural finale. Love that most of the angels are dead. Crowley's back. Meg is on the defensive and it looks like we are ramping up the action with the Leviathans. Sounds awesome.
I agree that Crowley plays both sides but in the end my guess is he betrays Dick. Leviathans are not good for demon power. I doubt we get much Cas and Bobby conversation this episode considering they have to stop Bobby just as much as they do Dick.
I'm not sure whether it is an act or not but I don't want to spend any of the precious 42 minutes we have in this finale talking about the bees or trying to convince Cas to fight. There is work to be done so let's get to it.
who does crowley hate more is the question...I guess the leviathan wouldn't like demons possessing their precious human bodies and making it harder to eat them.
Probably, or he just gets his own plan that only benefits him.
Yeah, I doubt it too, unfortunately, but I can hope, this is the problem of getting all the action in only three episode instead of so many pointless fillers during the season... at least, I'd love to see them meet even if there's obviously not time for chit-chats... specially since Bobby is probably not going to be really himself. :S
maybe there is no protocol for that situation because an entire garison had never been defeated before. And there are no more archangels to give orders. The last we heard, heaven was still in chaos.
I think the writers had Sam forgive Cas so easily so that the audience would. Sam would get hate if he didn't forgive him just like Dean is now. It's really ridiculous. Sam still gets crap for what went down 3 years ago, yet everyone else is a jerk for not forgiving Cas right away. It makes no sense. You want to forgive him...fine but it's not going to be right away after what he did.
There were more than one garrison of angels so there is still a chance that more angels exist unfortunately. However they said earlier that their particular garrison had almost been wiped out so there weren't so many left that it would be bodies piled everywhere. Plus Cas took out a whole host of angels himself. That and the civil war they were fighting should put angels on the endangered species list. Hopefully they will be too busy trying to self-preserve to get involved with the Winchesters anymore.
AGREED. The Winchesters need to be the heroes in this finale. My guess is that Dick let Crowley go because Crowley is supposed to give the Winchesters the wrong blood. That would make the weapon useless against Dick but still lead the Winchesters to his headquarters where he can take them out. The question then becomes if Crowley double crosses Dick and really does give the Winchesters his blood. I say he will because he can handle the Winchesters being around a whole lot more than having Dick Roman take over the earth.
Or at least this is my theory now. It's subject to change and since I have very rarely guessed a SPN finale correctly (except I did predict Evil John and Dean in hell) I'm sure I am wildly wrong.
I'm smelling a set up to next year's arc with so many angels dying. If the angels are severely weakened, the balance of power between Heaven and Hell will be thrown off. That may have been Crowley's plan all along when he convinced Cas to start a civil war in Heaven.
A visceral blood bath is what TV Guide called it. I no I'm going to cry. How many seasons have we managed to not cry at the finale? Season 4? They ganked Ruby but Lucifer escaped. Sigh. This is going to be rough.
It seems really random that the "bone of the righteous mortal" is some random nun we've never heard of. I thought for sure they were alluding to Dean, the "righteous man" with that stuff. Anyways I really hope they just robbed that poor nun's grave, rather than killing her for her bones. :P
Well Cas knows her. Dean should explain Cas that sniffing somebody bones is not an appropriate behavior ;-)
They didn't rob the nun bone. The boys have been raised good. They borrowed it. They will return it why a "thank you and sorry for the inconveniance" note as soon as they are finished :-D
Hope that Inias isn't dead. I kind of liked him. :( He was surprisingly plesant at the end of the episode. nice even. A rare trate for angels apparently.
I agree with what's been said, he is in sort of a psychotic denial/avoidance. And it seems he is afraid to fight in fear of making a mistake that will cause more hurt for himself and others. It is easier for him to lie down and play it safe. In this way he can avoid his guilt and any possible future cases of guilt.
Even if that puts his life at risk- cause if he goes into the Leviathan territory thinking he won't fight, if he doesn't step up, he'll most likely be in trouble.
Exactly. Garrison pretty much implies it wasn't all the angels cause then he'd have said all of them. I wonder how much angels were in his garrison? First Uriel, then the angels Cas took out during the Apocalypse if any were from his garrison, then the ones he killed in season 6 and if any of the angels he killed in season 7 were part of his garrison...had to be a decent amount of angels there.
Especially since angels can't repopulate even like monsters like vampires do, which were also said to be rare in season 1 and 2 because of hunting. At least vamps can turn people.
Yeah, I've pretty much guessed a while back next season may focus back on demons and on Crowley. It would make sense, because as you said, lots of angels have been dying. Also, people must still be turning into demons I would think? Though I don't know how Crowley's never-ending line could do that? Driven to demonhood via boredom? lol
Well, I do think less of him for doing it. He has always made a big thing of protecting and looking out for his little brother but obviously where Castiel is concerned it doesn't work like that! The writers have oh so very conveniently swept under the carpet Dean's protectiveness of Sam just to give us a couple of the Cas/ Dean moments. Pwah!
Castiel hurt Sam deliberately and cruelly and Sam suffered for a whole year with terrible visions plus all the other horrible things that Castiel did to his own angel friends and to many others, which if it had been anyone else Dean would have condemned, and probably found a way to destroy him by this time. If we're going to go with angels, Gabriel had more intergrity in his little finger that Castiel has in his whole body!
Sam has nothing to ask pardon for; he did nothing wrong.
He was played by more powerful forces than himself just as Dean was, so I don't lay any blame on either of their shoulders for all the Apocalypse affair, but Dean's forgiveness of Castiel is just too easy and that is on Dean alone, as no one is manipulating him in any way..
The fact that the Winchester Family is so dysfunction is the very reason that we have these brothers so closely dependent on one another, and I have nothing against them getting help on their mission by others and having friends.
What I do object to is the cheapening of that brotherly relationship by saying that everyone else is family too, as if the hardships and fears of their lonely upbringing which bonded them together, must now be thrown out of the window to make way for these "new friends" most of whom have betrayed or tried to kill them more than once
Sam and Dean are no-one's parents not even virtually, and all the people around them at this moment are adults, most of them ancient supernatural beings with greater powers ad experience than them and who, if they are working with them temporarily, it's certainly not for the benefit of the brothers but to cover their own asses!
As for the finales, the end of Season One was a simple car crash with the three Winchesters, but what emotion! Season Two, after the roller-coaster ride of Sam's death, the two brothers exchanging vows to be there for one another and to stop Dean from going to Hell was so heart-wrenching in its simplicity; and Season Three with Dean being torn to shreds by a Hell hound and Sam crying over his body no less so.
I'm just saying that it's not necessary to have the screen full of people to have a great finale, actually having too many people crowded together takes away any emotional impact that there may be.
I imagine him travelling here and there. Popping in from nowhere and asking stunned people strange questions or having some loony monologue about bees, flowers, fruits and monkeys. :-D
I need to read some fanfic about crazy cas adventures around the world!
Is it possible that Cas became an archangel when the word was released? In previous episodes prophets are protected by archangels. I, too, think he will fight but as seen before, angels aren't much use. Cas' state of mind could be an effect of the change.
Ok, Avoidance!Cas ended up being pretty entertaining for me. So now the only thing keeping me from not minding his presence next season is his story overhadowing the Winchesters'. Give them a good strong story, and their brains back and actual human emotions and I'm on board. On the other hand, if I just get more of Robot!Man and SporadicallyDrunkandEmo!Man, another involved Cas story would just be pouring salt on the wound.
Is it at all possible that Cas' "situation" was brought about by becoming an archangel sent to protect the prophet? He just doesn't realize it yet. I'm confused since archangels have always guarded prophets.
Sam has nothingto be forgiven for, as I said above, because he and Dean were manipulated by forces older and more powerful than them, but even if one wants to accuse Sam of having done something wrong, he paid for it with 180 years in Hell, a year as Robo-Sam and a year with terrible Lucifer visions.
Castiel did things a thousand times worse than Sam and what does he get for punishment, a pat on the back and a welcome back from Dean- -It's completely unfair and uncomprehensible!
No, I don't think he's ever been an archangel. In season 5 Cas was upped to Zachariah's power level. I don't think he was upped again this time (why would God give him more power after what he did in season 6/7? I think the power boost in season 5 was a reward and for a sign he should help Heaven now it had no archangels.)
Castiel's state of mind is rooted partly in taking over Sam's broken wall, and his guilt. I think his guilt over what he did is a major factor.
If there are no archangels, then the next angels in line are bound to need to protect him.
Why would God make Cas an archangel? And I don't see how going archangel would make him act this way when he was fine in episode 17 until he took on Sam's wall.
Just because it's not the same doesn't mean Sam sees it that way. He and Cas both trusted a demon they shouldn't have and snuck around meeting with that demon and both powered up to defeat an enemy (Lilith/Raphael).Neither knew the consequences and both hurt those that were friends/family to them (Bobby and Dean for Sam, Dean and Sam for Cas). Both caused life loss directly or indirectly.
However we see it, Sam sees it in the basics. So I can see how he can relate and be more forgiving. Plus, Sam's just that kind of guy. Very sweet.
She was just using the child thing as a metaphor. I don't think calling someone else family cheaping the brother relationship. The boys are closer than any siblings I have known in real life. No way it can be cheapened.
We are gonna cry, hug our favorite pillow, then throw said pillow at the tv. We are going to swear and laugh and cry some more.
We are going to drink every time: Dean say "sammy" , Sam roll his eyes at Dean, Bobby break a mirror, Cas will happilly bleed for the winchester ... and empty the bottle when baby will appear on screen.
Then we will freak out because of the hellatus. Fortunately, there will be re-watch, polls, fanfics and bickering between sam-dean-cas fans to help us hold until september
It cheapens it for me. As does calling Castiel a brother. As does calling Bobby a father. I've seen those relationships develop from the start and they don't have half the intensity I feel towards my own family. So having Dean and Sam assign those terms to them makes me question their definitions and makes me question the assumptions with which I came into the story.
Sam trusted a demon because he thought by doing so and by killing Lilith he would stop the Apocalypse.
Then he was a young desperate man with the guilt of his brother going to Hell for him weighing him down, who after months of lonliness and degredation had accepted the help of a demon, sent on purpose to tempt him, thus becoming addicited to a drug. But through it all he thought, and was trying to do the right thing.
Castiel was a 2000 year old celestial being who knew all the ins and outs of how things worked between Heaven and Hell, and he quite consciously made a deal with Crowley to conquor Heaven; to achieve which he killed anyone who stood in his way, even his closest comrades and friends, and in the end double-crossing the very smart Crowley. So I don't go with the story of him being a fluffy innocent little baby angel , not a bit.
And as for Sam being "sweet", it's just another way of saying that for the umpteenth time he has to just shut up and take it!
who does crowley hate more is the question...I guess the leviathan wouldn't like demons possessing their precious human bodies and making it harder to eat them.
Strategically Crowley has it pretty goo right now. He's not one for cowing down to a new boss if he can take over the whole thing. If he thinks there is any chance of survival, I say he tries to take Dick out to preserve the power he has.
AGREED. The Winchesters need to be the heroes in this finale. My guess is that Dick let Crowley go because Crowley is supposed to give the Winchesters the wrong blood. That would make the weapon useless against Dick but still lead the Winchesters to his headquarters where he can take them out. Yes. That's sad. I'm glad Cas is out of his mind now or he would go suicidal. In the scene with the angels in 721. I could swear he looked disappointed when Meg saved him.
Because they are ready to jump on each other throat? :-)
That may be the writer's intention but it utterly destroys the brotherly bond that is the core of the show.
It used to be the Winchester brothers strong together against the world, but if that's no longer true because Dean is now willing to let Sam get hurt and bashed about by everyone, including a powerful angel well it's another show altogether and much less emotively coinvolging , at least for me.

ReplyDeleteOMG
ReplyDeleteomgomgomg
They don't usually give us such meaty scenes for sneak peeks.
I thought Castiel would be like this, and I'm pleased to see that I was right. Bet he'll be in the fray again by the end of the episode.
Looking forward to seeing the confrontation with Crowley play out.
This looks so awesome ;) and Crowley is back ;)
ReplyDeleteIt looks like Cas will come around and start fighting again later on the episode, and that's awesome cuz that's more like who he is. I really can't wait to see this episode with all the gang back together and Sam&Dean working as a team! it all looks awesome, so i hope we can finish this kind of boring season with a bang!
Crowley definitely is good at choosing the right time to show up;)
ReplyDeleteThrilling as hell (Oh the pun). Anyhow, super-charged for finale :D

Oh wow. Cas is the last surviving member of his Garrison. That's kinda sad.
ReplyDeleteAnd why did I get some weird Meg/Crowley vibes there?
He said that there may be some angels into hiding... I don't think the Leviathans killed Inias on 7x21 for example, did they? I hope so, cuz I really liked the guy.
ReplyDeleteBut I'm wondering now, Cas should start loosing his powers now, right? I mean that's what supposedly happened in the 2014 future, when all the angels left.
"I don't participate in agressive activity"
ReplyDeleteI want Cas with some flower in his hairs and a peace&love shirt now!
XD
OMG indeed
ReplyDeleteThis scene was more tense and interesting than both promo :-)
I love this Cas almost as much as I love bad ass regular Cas. Hippie-Cas is so open and talkative. At least we know what is going on in his head now.
Dean handling Cas his kid gloves made me ROTFL
I need this episode now. I'm so tense you could play harp with my spinal nerves.
O.o
Mark Sheppard is sexy
ReplyDeleteseems like whats going on in his head is a whole lot of avoidance, he gets these guilty looks every so often and he keeps talking around the issues. It seems to be an act.
ReplyDeleteYes to everything you said!
ReplyDeleteCas has borax in his hand and he is with the boys raiding sucrocorps but he could still becrazy-Cas (I prefer the nickname "hippie-Cas" lol)
I'm kind of worried for Crowley.
I don't know how Dean can even suffer talking to Castiel after what he did to Sam, but maybe I'm just not the forgiving kind.
ReplyDeleteIt doesnt really matter what Cas did to Sam now .Dean has a relationship /friendship with Cas the writers wont have Cas walk on broken glass to get forgiveness that is only Sam's punishment.
ReplyDeleteSam forgiving Cas so easily just sealed Cas's redemption because Sam apparently doesnt have the right to be angry with anybody regardless of what they do so Dean talking to Castiel isnt that much of a problem nobody will think less of him for doing it.
I agree that he's avoiding. His attitude isn't coming from a place of strength, where he's accepted everything and found inner peace, but rather he's not fully accepting the reality yet. I don't agree that it's an act. It's more like the psychology behind repressed memories.
ReplyDeleteYes, for what we know, Cas should be losing his powers.
ReplyDeleteMaybe he is keeping his angelic battery charged because he isn't using his powers a lot?
ReplyDeleteI'm not worried about Crowley cuz he's a survivor and I'm having the feeling that something big is gonna happen with him on the finale or next season... The whole "Crowley is always the problem" and Mark Sheppard's insisting on whether there's more to Crowley than we know have me seriously curious... I really want to see this episode already to know what to expect next season.
I think this garrison is only a small group of angels, not the entire angel population.
ReplyDeleteDevilishely sexy.
ReplyDeleteSPN bring the sexy since season one. I think my favorite sexy guy is John Winchester, both young and older actors are just ... *die*
How are they doing it? Is there a jury evaluation and the candidates have to catwalk, do the puppy dog eyes and use their sexy voice or something?
:-D
Yes. That's sad. I'm glad Cas is out of his mind now or he would go suicidal.
ReplyDeleteIn the scene with the angels in 721. I could swear he looked disappointed when Meg saved him.
Because they are ready to jump on each other throat?
:-)
Cas in totally on denial mode now but It's not an act.
ReplyDeleteHis mind is somewhere less hurtful because he cannot cope with reality right now.
He follow the bees, following humans is too dangerous. He could hurt or kill again and he doesn't want too.
what does that mean the whole garrison, how can that be, is that supposed to mean they allone by one came to Kevin´s home and Edgar killed them all, wouldn´t that mean what Cas found at his house would be hundreds of corpses, and no one noticed? Are there many garrisons or does that mean almost all angels are gone? I am so worried about what tHE cliffhanger could be.
ReplyDeleteI agree, it definately doesn't look like an act... and more than just denial I agree with numer0six that he's afraid to kill or hurt even more people if he keeps fighting.
ReplyDeleteLove the comparison between Cas and Walter. Especially season one Walt ♥
ReplyDeleteI think he is not scaredt to fight per se. Cas is scared he could hurt or kill again.
At least with the bees he is emotionally safe. Following the human may get him involved again and for the moment, he doesn't want to.
He doesn't want to fight, or act, or even decide. "It's in your hands now"
Yes it's sad but hey, I'm a SPN fan thus an angst-fan ;-)
And as you point, this new turn in the Dean-Cas relation is funny too.
I love this character arc. I hope TPTB keep it until next season. Or they could totally surprise me with something even more awesome. I hope Crowley is safe. I have that spoiler in my head saying that a fave fan is going to die. They aren't many fan favorite still alive ... Maybe I am confusing with another show?
I noticed that look too... Cas just wants it over now, but like they said, sometimes the worst punishment is having to live with what you've done, not death, which in this case for Cas it would be like a relief right now, I think.
ReplyDeleteI think it wouldn´t make sense if he woudl lose his powers, just because no angel is around, then he would lose it every time one is in the, room or just none happens to be hanging out on earth. So it would make more sense if the gradual decline after his first death caused it in 5x4 as well
ReplyDeleteSurrounded by an impressive stock of Tissues boxes.
ReplyDeleteReady for angst and clifhanger of death :-D
Uh ohhhhh... Crowley popping in and discovering Cas can't be good news. And I don't doubt for a moment that Castiel will leap into the fray when things get heavy... especially if Sam or Dean is in danger. He may be crazy cakes, and he's definitely repressing, but he's sane enough to realize he doesn't want to be responsible for hurting them again.
ReplyDeleteAlways lurking.
ReplyDeleteIf I was a Winchester I would draw an devil trap on the bathroom ceiling before using the shower.
ReplyDeleteTheir reaction to all their regrets and guilt is definately quite similar and I kind of love it hehe.
ReplyDeleteAnd oh, yeah, I'm not meaning he's afraid to fight the Leviathans because they can kill him or anything like that...
ReplyDeleteDean's eyes weren't burnt out because he had technically already said YES to Michael, he killed Zach and basically gave Michael the big GFY before the archangel could get there to take Dean over, I guess he would also have needed a more affirmative Yes when he got there. Dean just got out of there as quick as he could with Sam.
ReplyDeleteMe too. There are still angels in Heaven, just none of them hanging out on earth anymore.
ReplyDeleteYes to everything :-)
ReplyDelete"he prefers to leave it to the winchesters, he trusts them more than he trusts himself..."
That's a beautiful comment. It make my heart shrink a little more.
O yes, there was that "two fan-fave ending in an unexpexted place"
I would count Meg as a favorite-fan too.
ReplyDeleteMan up, Cas.
ReplyDeleteYou may be right.
ReplyDeleteMichael could have been protecting Dean without possessing him yet just like Cas protected Jimy from burn during the hand in the boiling water scene.

ReplyDeleteIf Mark S. is not trolling since S6 maybe one of the fanfourites is Crowley and they're going to reveal more about him that we didn't expect... and the other might be Bobby becoming a vengeful spirit for real :S
Meg is becoming a favourite with the latest episodes (to me, at least, not for everyone) but I wouldn't say she really was before. But it could be her too, yep. I hope she doesn't die, but it wouldn't be a finale of SPN if noone dies, so I don't have my hopes up. lol.
The promo photos show he is there when they raid sucrocorps, no worry.
ReplyDeleteThere is be only one episode with hippie-cas so far. Let me enjoy It a little more pleaz? :-)
Looks great, typical for a Supernatural finale. Love that most of the angels are dead. Crowley's back. Meg is on the defensive and it looks like we are ramping up the action with the Leviathans. Sounds awesome.
ReplyDeleteYESSSSSSS!
ReplyDeleteI am most interested in seeing if Crowley is double crossing the Winchesters or Dick.
ReplyDeleteI agree that Crowley plays both sides but in the end my guess is he betrays Dick. Leviathans are not good for demon power. I doubt we get much Cas and Bobby conversation this episode considering they have to stop Bobby just as much as they do Dick.
ReplyDeleteI hope Crowley becomes a two season Big Bad for seasons 9 and 10.
ReplyDeleteAnd a way of making every scene better.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure whether it is an act or not but I don't want to spend any of the precious 42 minutes we have in this finale talking about the bees or trying to convince Cas to fight. There is work to be done so let's get to it.
ReplyDeleteI didn't get anything but tension from Meg but she has flirted with everyone else in the scene so why not Crowley.
ReplyDeleteI bet Mark is trolling.
ReplyDeleteThat song + seeing what the boys have been through, always = tissues
ReplyDeletewho does crowley hate more is the question...I guess the leviathan wouldn't like demons possessing their precious human bodies and making it harder to eat them.
ReplyDeleteProbably, or he just gets his own plan that only benefits him.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I doubt it too, unfortunately, but I can hope, this is the problem of getting all the action in only three episode instead of so many pointless fillers during the season... at least, I'd love to see them meet even if there's obviously not time for chit-chats... specially since Bobby is probably not going to be really himself. :S
maybe there is no protocol for that situation because an entire garison had never been defeated before. And there are no more archangels to give orders. The last we heard, heaven was still in chaos.
ReplyDeleteI'm kind of hoping he's not, cuz that would be kind of an awesome twist haha.
ReplyDeleteThat's what I get. Cas has no family, no purpose, no beliefs and he is afraid to do anithing:'(
ReplyDeleteNo death for Cas. God wouldn't allow it. He is such a cas fan, he keep bringing Cas back to life again and again ;-)
Ugh so true. I find this version tedious and distracting. So over it.
ReplyDeleteI think they just did it because it looked so cool.
ReplyDeleteI think the writers had Sam forgive Cas so easily so that the audience would.
ReplyDeleteYou know I read somewhere that John Winchester shows up in this episode.
ReplyDeleteIt was on April 1st...
ReplyDeleteThere were more than one garrison of angels so there is still a chance that more angels exist unfortunately.
ReplyDeleteI think the angels know they cannot protect Kevin so maybe they are regrouping to replan or they are hightailing it in defeat and self-preservation.
ReplyDeleteCan not wait, really!!!
ReplyDeleteAGREED.
ReplyDeleteOr at least this is my theory now.
ReplyDeleteA visceral blood bath is what TV Guide called it. I no I'm going to cry. How many seasons have we managed to not cry at the finale? Season 4? They ganked Ruby but Lucifer escaped. Sigh. This is going to be rough.
ReplyDeleteWhile I would love to see John again someday, that would be so random.
ReplyDeleteIt seems really random that the "bone of the righteous mortal" is some random nun we've never heard of. I thought for sure they were alluding to Dean, the "righteous man" with that stuff. Anyways I really hope they just robbed that poor nun's grave, rather than killing her for her bones. :P
ReplyDeleteWell Cas knows her. Dean should explain Cas that sniffing somebody bones is not an appropriate behavior ;-)
ReplyDeleteThey didn't rob the nun bone. The boys have been raised good. They borrowed it.
They will return it why a "thank you and sorry for the inconveniance" note as soon as they are finished :-D
I really like the fact that Cas is conspiring to liberate monkeys.
ReplyDeleteAhhh I can't wait!
ReplyDeleteHope that Inias isn't dead.
ReplyDeleteEven if that puts his life at risk- cause if he goes into the Leviathan territory thinking he won't fight, if he doesn't step up, he'll most likely be in trouble.
Play harp with spinal cords lol
ReplyDeleteI'll probably be that way Friday, I tense up about 1 or 2 hours before finales because of antiscepation.
It was one clip, I'm sure besides this the story will focus on the main plot for most part.
ReplyDeleteHe's wanted to get rid of Dick for a while, if he thinks the boys have a shot, I think he'll take it. Like you said, he likes being on top. Top Dog.
ReplyDeletelol good one. XD
ReplyDeleteWhat kind of vibes?
ReplyDeleteI can only think of the fact she was on Lucifer's team and he wasn't during the war and she wants to take Crowley out of power. He must know that?
ReplyDeleteYeah, no use getting themselves killed when they know they can't protect Kevin.
ReplyDeletelol putting it that way, with Bobby and Cas, was funny reading, but it is so true!
ReplyDeleteEspecially since angels can't repopulate even like monsters like vampires do, which were also said to be rare in season 1 and 2 because of hunting. At least vamps can turn people.
ReplyDeleteOh yeah! Forgot about that! It'll be interesting to see his reaction, though he may not give it away.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I've pretty much guessed a while back next season may focus back on demons and on Crowley. It would make sense, because as you said, lots of angels have been dying. Also, people must still be turning into demons I would think? Though I don't know how Crowley's never-ending line could do that? Driven to demonhood via boredom? lol
ReplyDeletelol probably not.
ReplyDeleteWell, I do think less of him for doing it.
ReplyDeleteHe has always made a big thing of protecting and looking out for his little brother but obviously where Castiel is concerned it doesn't work like that!
ReplyDeleteWhat I do object to is the cheapening of that brotherly relationship by saying that everyone else is family too, as if the hardships and fears of their lonely upbringing which bonded them together, must now be thrown out of the window to make way for these "new friends" most of whom have betrayed or tried to kill them more than once
LOL! forgot about that one. Cas get to the zoo XD
ReplyDeleteI imagine him travelling here and there.
Popping in from nowhere and asking stunned people strange questions or having some loony monologue about bees, flowers, fruits and monkeys.
:-D
I need to read some fanfic about crazy cas adventures around the world!
Well I may consider Bobby and Cas many things but naughty children is not one of them esp Castiel who is being of many generations .
ReplyDelete"Ahhh I can't wait!"
ReplyDeleteThat was my exact response! I can't freaking wait for this! What's gonna happen?!
A big YES to this!
ReplyDeleteIs it possible that Cas became an archangel when the word was released? In previous episodes prophets are protected by archangels. I, too, think he will fight but as seen before, angels aren't much use. Cas' state of mind could be an effect of the change.
ReplyDeleteDon't know, just theorizing.
ReplyDeleteIs it at all possible that Cas' "situation" was brought about by becoming an archangel sent to protect the prophet? He just doesn't realize it yet. I'm confused since archangels have always guarded prophets.
ReplyDeleteSam has nothingto be forgiven for, as I said above, because he and Dean were manipulated by forces older and more powerful than them, but even if one wants to accuse Sam of having done something wrong, he paid for it with 180 years in Hell, a year as Robo-Sam and a year with terrible Lucifer visions.
ReplyDeleteCastiel did things a thousand times worse than Sam and what does he get for punishment, a pat on the back and a welcome back from Dean- -It's completely unfair and uncomprehensible!
ReplyDeleteCastiel's state of mind is rooted partly in taking over Sam's broken wall, and his guilt. I think his guilt over what he did is a major factor.
If there are no archangels, then the next angels in line are bound to need to protect him.
ReplyDeleteWhy would God make Cas an archangel? And I don't see how going archangel would make him act this way when he was fine in episode 17 until he took on Sam's wall.
Just because it's not the same doesn't mean Sam sees it that way. He and Cas both trusted a demon they shouldn't have and snuck around meeting with that demon and both powered up to defeat an enemy (Lilith/Raphael).Neither knew the consequences and both hurt those that were friends/family to them (Bobby and Dean for Sam, Dean and Sam for Cas). Both caused life loss directly or indirectly.
ReplyDeleteHowever we see it, Sam sees it in the basics. So I can see how he can relate and be more forgiving. Plus, Sam's just that kind of guy. Very sweet.
see my post above. :)
ReplyDeleteShe was just using the child thing as a metaphor. I don't think calling someone else family cheaping the brother relationship. The boys are closer than any siblings I have known in real life. No way it can be cheapened.
ReplyDeleteAnd don't forget the dogs!
ReplyDeleteI would think Raphael mashed his fair share during his recruitment drive.
ReplyDeleteAt what cost does the Winchester victory come?
This is what is going to happen friday:
ReplyDeleteWe are gonna cry, hug our favorite pillow, then throw said pillow at the tv.
Fortunately, there will be re-watch, polls, fanfics and bickering between sam-dean-cas fans to help us hold until september
;-D
It cheapens it for me. As does calling Castiel a brother. As does calling Bobby a father. I've seen those relationships develop from the start and they don't have half the intensity I feel towards my own family. So having Dean and Sam assign those terms to them makes me question their definitions and makes me question the assumptions with which I came into the story.
ReplyDeleteSam trusted a demon because he thought by doing so and by killing Lilith he would stop the Apocalypse.
ReplyDeleteThen he was a young desperate man with the guilt of his brother going to Hell for him weighing him down, who after months of lonliness and degredation had accepted the help of a demon, sent on purpose to tempt him, thus becoming addicited to a drug.
Crowley, Meg, Cas, and the Winchesters all in one room together! This is going to be fun!
ReplyDeleteThis is going to be an awesome season finale! I cannot wait until Friday!
ReplyDeleteI frakking love Mark Sheppard and his voice.:-)
ReplyDeleteMeg and Crowley - she must be worried! Great sneak peek - can't wait.
ReplyDeleteAnd a way of making every scene better.
ReplyDeleteCas without any powers is a good start but I think everything in the future according to The End is now moot since they stopped the Apocalypse.
ReplyDeletewho does crowley hate more is the question...I guess the leviathan wouldn't like demons possessing their precious human bodies and making it harder to eat them.
ReplyDeleteStrategically Crowley has it pretty goo right now. He's not one for cowing down to a new boss if he can take over the whole thing. If he thinks there is any chance of survival, I say he tries to take Dick out to preserve the power he has.
ReplyDeleteI think the angels know they cannot protect Kevin so maybe they are regrouping to replan or they are hightailing it in defeat and self-preservation.
ReplyDeleteYeah, that was a joke.
ReplyDeleteBut oh, I wish it wasn't...
ReplyDeleteOr at least this is my theory now. It's subject to change and since I have very rarely guessed a SPN finale correctly (except I did predict Evil John and Dean in hell) I'm sure I am wildly wrong.
Yes. That's sad. I'm glad Cas is out of his mind now or he would go suicidal.
ReplyDeleteIn the scene with the angels in 721. I could swear he looked disappointed when Meg saved him.
Because they are ready to jump on each other throat?
:-)
That may be the writer's intention but it utterly destroys the brotherly bond that is the core of the show.
ReplyDeleteIt used to be the Winchester brothers strong together against the world, but if that's no longer true because Dean is now willing to let Sam get hurt and bashed about by everyone, including a powerful angel well it's another show altogether and much less emotively coinvolging , at least for me.
And don't forget the dogs!
ReplyDelete
