Thanks to Sandra for the heads up.
We are not on the fall schedule. And it turns out this is a good thing! The pilot, while very strong, wasn’t quite what people (not sure which people) thought it could be. But instead of dropping the show entirely, the CW plans to reshoot it.
From what I understand, the writers and producers are staying, and Amy will stay on as America for sure, but some of the characters might be replaced and the script might be reworked. I have no clue and no say over who stays and goes, and I don’t know what they would change in the script. I pretty much find things out as they happen, about 5 minutes before you guys do. Sometimes not even that!
It sounds like the CW plans to move quickly, so we might see news in the next few months. If the pilot looks better the second time around, we might see the show air in mid-season (I think that means in the spring) or next summer. And that is actually a good thing, too!

Didn't we already know this, though?
ReplyDeleteHa probably. But this came from the writer directly :)
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear that Aimee Teegarden is still staying with the project.
ReplyDeleteMy guess with the current CW schedule is that if Beauty and the Beast or Arrow flops, Cult will be taking that timeslot. I can see the CW pairing Cult with TVD especially with Matt Davis in the series.
If Emily Owens, MD flops (which I think it most likely will), then maybe this is where The Selection could come in.
Scheduling is going to be interesting
ReplyDeletePretty laughable to me....
ReplyDeleteIf the pilot was that strong they would not need to completely re-work and re-cast it. It just goes against logic.
I think The CW is really putting an effort in scheduling this year.
ReplyDeleteStrong pilot but delayed due to casting changes, umm just how strong do you claim to be?
ReplyDeleteIt's the source material (and its resemblance to The Hunger Games) where The CW sees potential because they obviously saw none in the pilot they ordered.
ReplyDeletei actually heard alot of good reviews of the pilot
ReplyDeletebut shooting a second pilot could make it even better some huge shows like Game of Thrones filmed two pilots i dont remember any CW show doing that recently
I'm not sure if The CW has ever taken a second shot at a pilot before.
ReplyDeleteOnly for Cult I believe.
ReplyDeletecult was a script for ABC before
ReplyDeleteCult was given the green light for a pilot at The WB and was to star Matt Bomer. Days after they gave the go-ahead, Warner Brothers dumped The WB as a network and formed The CW in conjunction with CBS.
ReplyDeleteOne of the first decisions of the newly formed CW network was to dump Cult.
