POLL : Which new ABC Show(s) are you most looking forward to?

15 May 2012

We recently asked which NBC Shows and which FOX Shows are you most looking forward to (You can still vote in those polls). Now it's the turn of ABC now that we have seen all the trailers etc.

You can vote for 2 shows. Let us know in the comments who you voted for and why?

  5. Last Resort is my most anticipated show on ABC. 666 Park Avenue looks interesting as well.

  6. Red Widow and will check out Zero Hour

  7. 666 Park Avenue and Nashville! Also Mistresses, but we could only vote for 2.

  8. 666 Park Avenue is the only one I'm looking forward to, tbh.

Last resort and Zero Hour, although 666 Park Avenue might end up being better...

  10. 666 and how to live with your parents

  11.  I'm not specifically looking forward to any of these programs.  There are a few that I'm willing to check out but none of these shows are a "must see" for me.

  12. Sorry, nothing.

  13. Nashville really, and only for Connie Britton

  14. I'm looking forward to Last Resort and Zero Hour..

  15. Not excited about any I guess....
Zero Hour and Last Resort are two I plan to try for a few episodes but I do not have high hopes.
666 Park Avenue and Red Widow are two I may check out the premiers, but neither looks good to me despite liking the genre or actors etc.

None of the sitcoms look watchable.
Worst crop of new shows for any network this year....

  16. Last Resort by far (for tons of reasons), and also Nashville (for Connie Britton).

I was positively surprised by Red Widow, it might end up being good, but ABC ordered only 8 episodes, it's not a procedural and it's for midseason : there's 90% chance it gets canned, maybe it's the new Missing.

Zero Hour feels like a Da Vinci Code TV series. I didn't like the movie and it had a great cast, a good writer (Akiva Goldsman - yep, the same who's on Fringe), a good director and a big budget : why should I watch the TV show which won't have any element better than the film ? Addison Timlin ? Yep, she is a good motivation (hey, I'm weak). Seriously, I may try the pilot but I can't say I'm looking forward to it.

I like Terry O'Quinn like everyone else here but 666 Park Ave just looked really cheap. Not everything that has any sort of connection to Lost is gold, guys. I for one had my share of haunted houses with American Horror Story. It seems like the exact same thing, except that people are literally sucked into the building (with crappy CGI). 666 may not be as tacky but at least Murphy could be edgy on FX, and "edgy" isn't exactly a popular word at ABC, so all we'll have is dark hallways and Terry O'Quinn is in "I give suspicious looks" mode. Yep, I like you John Locke but that is not enough for me (and the "from the producers of Gossip Girl and Pretty Little Liars" isn't really what I would call good publicity).
    1/ Last Resort.
    2/ Nashville.
    3/ Red Widow.
    4/ Zero Hour.
    5/ 666 Park Ave.
6/ How to Live with your Parents (it wasn't great, but it was the least bad among comedies).

I'm not even going to rank the rest. I would never, ever watch Mistresses, Family Tools, Malibu Country or Neighbors (boy, that one was beyond crappy, wasn't it ? Damn). The trailers were awful.

  17.  Let's face it.  There are no obvious hits from any of the networks so far this upfront season.  Last year I could point to at least a few shows (New Girl, Suburgatory) and say they're no-brainers - they'll easily catch on.  I can't do that this year.  I haven't come across any program, comedy or drama, from any network that I just know will make it past its first season.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Is there a place where all the trailers for each network are grouped together, by network?

    ReplyDelete
  19. No, sorry, just click on the shows via the network menu at the top. You can then find the trailer(s)

    ReplyDelete
  20. That's ok. I'm just being lazy. :") Thank you for replying so quickly!

    ReplyDelete
  21. True.
I  was not as high on New girl (I hated it at first sight) or Suburgatory (I grew to like it quite a bit), but I knew Person of Interest and Homeland would be hits. If I recall there were a handful of others I thought would be solid too.

This year the only network that has shows I am certain will be around the following year is the CW. I think Arrow is a lock for renewal and odds are in Revolution's favor too.

  22. I don't know about Revolution.  NBC has such a dismal track record with genre shows and sprawling, ambitious premises that I'm quite skeptical.  Not only has NBC given us The Cape, Persons Unknown, and The Event but I still remember Day One which went from a series order to a limited series to a TV movie to not being aired at all.

    ReplyDelete
  23. I voted for Last Resort and Red Widow (+666 park ave)

    ReplyDelete
  24. I am more than happy if Red Widow turns into "the new Missing".....
Missing is exactly what I thought it would be, a solidly acted Action/ Thriller serialized mini-series. I can enjoy a short run series with an entertaining premise that is serialized... Red Widow seems to fit that description.

The odd thing about the shows this upcoming season is that they are a lot of serialized shows, but very few sound good to me. I love serials, but not about mistresses or country singers or party submarines.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Oh yes. Day one looked so interesting. Still never managed to get to the bottom of why it was canned

    ReplyDelete
  26. I'm not sure Revolution will be great or a "hit", but on NBC the bar is low! XD

I think that if it pulls in decent ratings and then generates and maintains some fan buzz they will renew it.

If any show's fans know how to generate buzz it's Kripke and Supernatural fans...

    ReplyDelete
  27. Oh BTW...
Congrats on barely sneaking into Champion's League play!
That had to be a rough day waiting to see how it all played out!

    ReplyDelete
  28.  Well, for what it's worth, I hope NBC gets itself a hit or two.  A rising tide lifts all boats and there are other existing shows on NBC that I'd like to see continue to prosper.

    ReplyDelete
  29. 666 Park Avenue and Last Resort.

    ReplyDelete
  30. After seeing the results so far....yeah...I really have a soft spot for a few of the outliers. :") Ah well. I'll just be resigned to enjoy the few eps that air before they're inevitably canceled b/c I'm the only one watching... :P

  31. 666 Park Ave., Red Widow, How to live with your Parents, Nashville, Mistresses

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  33. 666 Park Avenue, Mistresses, Nashville and Red Widow for me.

    ReplyDelete
  34. 666, Zero Hour and Last Resort with a possible for How to Live with your Parents

    ReplyDelete
  35. I really wanted Devious Maids but am really looking foward to Nashville and maybe Mistress

    ReplyDelete
  36. The comedies all look god awful this year. But I'll be spending my Sunday nights on ABC with ONCE UPON A TIME, REVENGE and 666 PARK AVE

    ReplyDelete
  37.  I'm not sure about this Fall group of shows so far. I think I'll be sticking with my old faves. Sunday nights, I'm only watching Once Upon A Time, as I did this year.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Malibu Country because it's Reba and Zero Hour for the historical mystery and Anthony Edwards.  666 Park Avenue would be my next choice.  I will probably give Last Resort and Nashville a chance too.

Do have to congratulate ABC for what surely will be the worst trailer for a new show this season.  The Neighbors trailer was horrendous.  Other networks are going to have to try really hard to top that one.

    ReplyDelete
  39. surprisingly none, Might change my mind when they start advertising them but for now none.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Honestly?  None of the above.  I'm sorry.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Nothing thrilling

I'll give a try to Last ressort. Original concept and written by Shawn Ryan.

    ReplyDelete
  42. I think Last resort will be most interesting.

    ReplyDelete
  43. if I have to choose 1 in each, drama: zero hour; comedy: how to live with your parents (for the rest of your life)

    ReplyDelete
  44. 666 park Ave & Last Resort.  Easy choice, not really interested in any of the other shows, although I might also try Zero Hour

    ReplyDelete
  45. How to Live with Your Parents and 666 Park Avenue (also last resort if I could vote for more than 2)

    ReplyDelete
  46. Definitely 666 Park Avenue, Last Resort & Zero Hour.

    Maybe Nashville.

    ReplyDelete
  47. MISTRESSES! ♥
