Cafeteria scene was a weak attempt to write something Rod Serling wrote over 50 years ago. Wondering how they pulled fingerprints off of wet undies. (Could be wrong, was a little distracted)
I don't think it was wet undies, I think it was that folder that contained the tickets that Foreman gave to House at the beginning of the ep after the intro.
Oh my gosh, to me, that - I - I was blown away. There were moments that struck me hard, moments where I shed a tear and moments where I giggled and screamed in astonishment [and maybe a mix of confusion! xD] But, really, gosh, I'll probably end up watching this ep again as often as I can this week! The ending really shocked me, I was SO not expecting that!
And, of course, the Hilson scenes [if you spin that way ;)] <3
I'm nervous for next week, I really can't believe it'll all be ending. I should probably think about buying some Kleenex's! But, for now, I have some song searching to do. I'm definitely going to miss that too =[
sorry Candy but,it is the only way it can end up after what he did to CUDDY. He is and always will be mentally unstable vicodin addicted LOSER. Who would have thought HOUSE would actually lose it AGAIN. Karma is a bitch.
If you don't cry through this episode - from beginning to end - you have no soul. Or possibly you've never seen a single episode, although even the most ignorant should still shed a few tears. This episode was brutally, unapologetically honest. Everything about the characters was moving and heartfelt and absolutely perfect. Nothing was contrived. Nothing felt insincere. Nothing was over the top or out of character. 13 did not drop 'rainbows and unicorns' style inspiration, just an honest analysis of the situation from someone who really understands. House stayed true to himself: conning Wilson at every turn to extend the life of his best friend, even if that meant making Wilson miserable. And in the end, when he finally had his change of heart, we felt like he had earned his revelation. And no sappy "I love you, man" ensued, just a casual "You got any Oreos?" which was so far beyond perfect I cannot stop myself from getting teary-eyes just thinking about it. This is, without a doubt, House at it's absolute best. This was a tear-jerker that wasn't TRYING to be a tear-jerker. It was so everything I have ever loved about House, magnified, times a 100, jam-packed into one episode with beautiful, perfect simplicity. I have never enjoyed an hour of television so much. I will be sad to see this series end.
I think it's safe to say the series finale is going to be the best finale ever. Of any show. I really haven't been as in love with House lately as I once was, and the show has never been my absolute favourite (always close to the top, just never #1), so for me to concede that this is the best episode of any show I've ever seen is not merely some fangirl reaction. I truly believe this was a spectacular hour of television, and I am absolutely on the edge of my seat for what is bound to be a truly unbelievable series finale. The relationship that the writers have built between House and Wilson is, without a doubt, the most f***ed up, twisted, flawed, absolutely perfect relationship of any two characters on television. It is beautiful, it is powerful, it is believable, and it is insane. I will miss the series more than I realized :'(
I doubt that will happen. Everyone described the ending as satisfying and that would be hard to make very satisfying. I think Foreman with take the blame. His name and prints are on those tickets just like House's are. As he said, life is suffering for the people you care about.
Still bitter about CUDDY are we? Personally, I feel sympathy for people with mental illness. Especially when a silly poorly thought out prank costs them their last few months with their only friend. Oh, but who cares, he hurt CUDDY right, fry the bastard!
this episode shows how tight and strong is wilson & house friendship they need and support each other is a bromance sounds little kinki but is there way and also shows how destroy memories of someone we love could affect us.
Now that you mention it, many people have told me I have no soul. That being said, I did not cry. I was too pissed at the writers for trying to copy a masterpiece by Rod Serling. http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=The_Changing_of_the_Guard_(The_Twilight_Zone)&oldid=492103410
I see the HUDDY TROLLS stopped by to log their Cuddy/Huddy protest. I loevd this episode!! Rewatching on HuluPlus. Wilson broke my heart when he said to House "I need you to tell me you love me" and then House got out the cry and you could see he had started crying too,. Then that total twisted knife at the end. House's parole is revoked for 6 months and Wilson sans the chemo will die in 5 months. David Shore is one EVIL MOFO!!
House's fingerprints may be on them but that in and of itself does not prove House put them in the toilet. Any lawyer could get that kind of evidence thrown out. The judge would probably throw it out.
Are you serious? The similarity between the two is so ridiculously broad, that you have to ignore every bit of substance to be able to compare them. A scene where people tell a person facing death that they helped them. That's where the similarity ends and that was enough to piss you off? I had to ignore that one involved ghosts and a suicide and the other was actors and painful treatment to even give you that much. By your reasoning you could say The Changing of the Guard what just a copy of It's a Wonderful Life. Wilson doesn't want to die, nor does he think he never did any good. Wilson just doesn't want to suffer. House's point was to show Wilson that he can do more good by continuing to live and work. Which is the exact opposite of "The Changing of the Guard" where Fowler is convined by his visitors that he's done enough and can retire proudly. Ironically there is another moment in House that had a somewhat closer similarity (although still far from a copy) to a scene in a different classic TV show, but I'm not going to tell you what it is and give you another silly reason to trash a fantastic episode.
By the way, I got a bit misty but didn't cry either, yet I loved it thoroughly. I already knew I had no soul though since we are just sacks of chemicals.
I think that saying this episode was awful is an unexpected reaction to it but, It was uneven. On one hand yoiu have all the moving story about the relationship between Greg and James. On the other hand this stupid story of tickets, which I didn't find funny at all because it was dangerous for the people and the hospital. Greg could have been sent to jail because of what he did to the patient.
I've been saying it for a while, but seriously, thisd last stretch of the show has been brilliant!!!!!!! House is going out on top, and that's worth a hell of a lot.
Awesome episode. (okay the case of the weeek wasn't great, but the whole emotional turmoil and character stuff totally made up for it).
My only beef: 13 was very "meh" for me.... granted as much as I like OW, 13 has never been a favourite of mine so I might be a bit bias, but still.
I think you must of fallen asleep towards the end,he is going to back to jail, after Wilson agreed to continue Chemo...Rewatch just the last 12 minutes it was great..
I guess i didn't and re-read it and i still see the same "Greg could have been sent to jail" sorry i don't mean to be thick, maybe i've been on the computer to long today.....
Let's talk about grammar then. "...could have been..." is conditional, and suggests it was a better idea, for me, than having Greg playing such a stupid game with the tickets and hurting people in the MRI room. I'm sick of the explanation : "That's pure HOUSE". I'm not a teen and find this argument vain and boring. I'm expecting more from the writers and I'm sure the end won't please me because they've taken so often bad decisions that I can't imagine it will be a good ending for this show.
I will end this conversation here with you because you just pick sentences that aren't important to go on arguing about you. You obviously didn't understand I think the writers often write stupid sequences to please the teens. You are not concerned in my message. On the opposite I think you personaly involved me when you wrote "I think you must of fallen asleep towards the end". And I suppose that "of" means "have". I come on this board to expose my personal feelings about the show. Not to give or receive lessons. Good bye.
I don't think the tickets story was meant to be particularly funny. It was House lashing out because he doesn't want to replace Wilson. I thought it was rather sad actually. There was also no indication that House's intent was to destroy an MRI machine and cave in a ceiling, he was just clogging toilets and sinks. It is true that he could have been sent to jail for choking the patient instead, but without seeing the finale I can't say if that would have fit the plot as well. Plus, even with just what we know now, the tickets is a much harder punch in the gut because he is going to jail for a silly prank with an unintended result, whereas choking a patient is a more severe crime and something he chose to do, albeit, emotionally charged.
Thanks for the nice statement of facts you've given. I think teens love stupidity, then they can be pleased while watching a man acting stupidly. I'm sure he didn't think he will end in jail, so he will go away with James to kill themselves and die hand in hand... What I regret is that all this will be based on a prank and not on the rage he expressed towards the patient. That's my regrets, I don't mind if you have another point of view.
You must be a millionaire. On a more serious note, it's a TV SHOW about a fake unrealistic characters named House. He pulls pranks and does unrealistic things and unrealisticly gets away with them, except when the writers decided to finally have him in jail just for writing kicks.
Discussing the show is something, and telling his feeling is something else. Then telling "I make silly baseless assertions" is personal attack I won't answer to. Bye.
Once again, I'm tired of the excuse "It's a TV show". I've never missed an episode and have all the DVD boxsets at home. So if I wasn't intrested, I would watch. On the other hand, I think I'm free to write what I like or not about the show. That's all. That won't ruin it because it is already over. PS : I don't know how much a glass tent costs, but I could buy my flat for less than one million $.
I figured you would take offense and feel "attacked" without following my meaning. My point was when you say you prefer that a story was told another way, that's your opinion and that's fine. However, when you couple your opinions with ridiculous assertions that Shore is just trying to please teenagers and the story was bad because you didn't think it was funny, that's where I feel some factual correction is needed.
That's endless and not worthy. I don't like this tickets storyline. I don't mind if you don't like my arguments. You can go on giving all the factual corrections you need because I won't answer you again. I have the feeling you are used to make people go away. You won again. Bravo ! Bye Bye Bye Bye Bye Bye Bye Bye Bye Bye Bye Bye.
I understand what you're saying but I've doubted House's sincerity throughout the entire series. And it is most likely the way the character was written. I saw the scene as House trying to do something to please himself. (Like get people who didn't even know Wilson to act like they did.) I guess they were coming at it from different angles. Donald Pleasance had to be shown that his life wasn't a waste because of the people he had helped while House thought Wilson needed to keep helping people.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
I am going to hate it if this show ends with House alone and in jail

Surprised that House eventually sided with Wilson, but it was a nice, mature, right thing to do. Wilson's life - Wilson's choice.
