he's ran a good show. He's had a lot of excellent ideas there's been perfect twists and shocking surprises, but the 8th season was not his best work. i was really dissapointed to be honest :( i can only hope for the series finale to be as good as it's been implied before
Actually, Marc Cherry didn't write or direct season 8. He gave writers who worked with him on previous seasons to do that. They just used to run the major storylines by him. Only the final episode of this season was written by him. I think he's been more involved in the pilot of Devious maids which hasn't been picked up! A
well that was a bad move :( he should've been 100% more involveld in the season, i mean it wasn't terrible but it wasn't the best! maybe Devious Maides wasn't picked up cuz of that other pilot going on called "mistresses" they are very much alike.. maybe ABC didn't want the two shows been aired at the same time..
I'm surprised ABC is picking up so many more thrillers and action dramas rather than their soapy female-oriented fare. You'd think after a season where MISSING and THE RIVER failed and REVENGE succeeded the net would be picking up their soap pilot series.
Weird how Devious Maids went from "staffing" to "passed on".... Wonder what happened in the inbetween....
Americana wasn't sounding to great to me personally, but it seemed like it was almost a sure thing for quite a while now so that was a bit of a surprise too.
I'm also kinda sad for Prairie Dogs.... the idea sounded fun (yes I know about "the one with the fake Monica" comparison, but it still sounded like a good conspet) and the cast had me really intrigued.
I completely second that! he turned that awesome in show into a boring sitcom where there is no suspense or tension whatsoever -.-' serves him right, huh?
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Damn! ABC realllyyyyy hates their pilots.
ReplyDeleteMarc Cherry's Devious Maids was not picked up to series??
ReplyDeleteGOOD! i hated what he did to desperate Housewives this season :(
You're saying that about a show he's ran for the entirety of 8 seasons?

Wow, Cherry didn't see that coming.
ReplyDeletewhat about the Mandy Moore pilot?

ReplyDeleteSo what's the word on Americana? Are negotiations for that still ongoing? Come on ABC, pick it up.

They are saving those for when the thrillers and action dramas fail. ;)
