They may as well quit calling it Nikita and change the title to Division 2 or Sub-Division or something.. Her team is large enough now where the government would force her to supply health insurance. Seriously.... It was so much better when it was her versus the world and not her team versus their team!
Honestly, I was less than impressed with the first half of this season but the show has come around nicely. The show might not be what it started out to be but it's quite entertaining (for me) nonetheless.
I still watch it and find it entertaining honestly..... I just found it more compelling in the first half of Season 1. Now it is convoluted with love triangles all around and as much about their inner-personal dynamics as Nikita's quest to stop Division.
I know there are two people on the show with love interests (three if you want to count Birkhoff and the techie from Division) but I'm unaware of any triangles.
Nikita and Owen are close, but I so seriously doubt she'd get involved with the guy who played a role in her fiancees death.
As for Cassandra and Michael, it never appeared that they were at all intimate when he decided to stay with his son. I did miss one of the episodes, so I might have not seen something, but it didn't look like they had even shared a kiss. The triangle was in Nikita's mind.
That was more about Max than anything else. Since Michael does love his son, I suppose you could define it as a triangle albeit a very unconventional one.
As for Owen, that was just attraction and there was never any indication that there was more to it than that.
For me it is not about whether or not they each had definable relationships and/or were intimate with each other that determines a love triangle I guess.
They totally played up the Nikita Owen thing and Nikita was definitely stuck between them for a while as Michael and Owen were at odds.
The Cassandra triangle was more from Nikita's perspective, but that entire thing went on too long for my taste. They had Nkita worrying Michael was leaving her as Michael debated what to do with Max... even if he was not sexually interested in Cassandra they had Nikita worrying about him leaving her for Cassandra for multiple episodes.
There were temptations for Nikita in the original series too, but it all played better to me than how it has been handled by CW to me. I just find the CW version so inferior to LFN in every aspect except for the action sequences. In that regard the CW is far, FAR superior to the cheesy stunts on LFN! XD
For what it's worth, I am glad all of those emotional uncertainties are out of the way.
As far as making comparisons between LFN & Nikita, I just can't do it. They're damn near completely different. I do agree about the action sequences though. Without a doubt, Nikita's production team may be the best in the business. What this show is able to accomplish with a miniscule budget is nothing short of a miracle.
I thought the first half of season 1 was pretty awesome. But, the first season began to be a little too formulaic for me. Alex was much more interesting in season one but Nikita's main emotional bond was talking into a computer.
Putting Nikita, Michael and Birkhoff together was a breath of fresh air for me. The energy of the show ratcheted up. Nikita had people to connect with who were in the same room with her. I was having a LOT more fun. Unfortunately this was also the point where I would have been perfectly happy if they'd killed off Alex. (They didn't know what to do with her story-wise and what they did come up with I never cared about.) I'm not convinced that adding Sean to the mix isn't going to weigh things down. But I'm willing to wait and see.
My guess is Percy dies (or get captured), Nikita took over division, and Ryan will be the one the government sent to oversee Nikita and her team. That is the only logical step to the show. They really cannot keep this Percy storyline going forever.....
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Yessss!! I love ryan :)
ReplyDeleteAWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Love Ryan!
ReplyDeleteAwesome! Him and Owen are great characters on Nikita. I wish Devon would also get an upgrade.
ReplyDeleteIt was mentioned a while back that if Nikita were renewed that this would happen. Team Nikita continues to grow.
ReplyDeleteNow make Owen a regular and kill off Sean.

well I guess this rules Fletch out as one of the rumored deaths in the finale... I'm thinking that Sean and possibly Roan might be he recipients....

ReplyDeleteAt least two come to mind immediately...
ReplyDeleteCassandra/ Michael/ Nikita.Michael / Nikita/ Owen.

I've been waiting for Nikita or Alex to kill Roan for a while now.
ReplyDeleteAwesome! Glad he'll be a series regular. That also means he won't die tomorrow. Hurray!
ReplyDeleteyayyy i love ryan!!!
ReplyDeleteSo happy! Love Ryan!
ReplyDeleteThat takes him off the may get killed list! Yay! So glad!
ReplyDeleteI love the CW version but I'm a girl, guess that explains all :P

ReplyDeleteGiven how Homecoming ends, hardly surprising news! The finale was EPIC, could've been the perfect series finale (wont spoil, promise).
ReplyDeleteJust watched the finale and yes totally epic. Can't wait for season 3!
