  1. Doesn't look awful just not my kind of show

  2. Eh. It has that Revenge feel which I don't think any show can pull off.

  3. Not even Revenge can pull it off.
That show should have been a 13-episode single season series. It has gone downhill fast.

  4. I may tune in. The second clip intrigued me more than the first, so I'll have to see one more sneak peek to decide if it's worth my time. I'm trying to cut back on my shows for next year because I'll be starting university. I doubt this'll make my list, but I'm not sure yet.

  5. This looks like another dull project.  Maybe NBC should have held off on some of their pick-up decisions and picked through other networks leftovers instead.

  6. Agreed, Revenge was interesting at first. Now it just seems like they are dragging it out.

  7. It's the difference between a showrunner having a detailed, well laid out seasonal story arc knowing what they want to do and doing it and adjusting on the fly to extend the format.
Revenge has been watered down and extended multiple times as the network extended the first season, prolonged the big reveal and then decided they wanted a second season out of it too.

It's really too bad. IT was one of the first ABC series in a very long time I enjoyed, but then they had to ruin it by adding in more romances and sappy ABC elements.

  8. Something felt a little off with these clips. Still it doesn't look bad....

  12. I read that showrunner had a plan for a few seasons from the begining so second season was planned they didn't adjust the plot to make another season.

  13. You're probably right, however....

I would be willing to bet that when they started the show they also had a single season plan in case they were not going to be renewed. A way to wrap up the series in the original order of episodes.

Then when they got the back 9, they adapted or at a minimum adjusted. They pushed back the reveal of the murdered  (which would have been the 13-episode season finale if need be) and they began the back end of the story to fill in the 7 remaining episodes. At that point I think they assumed they had a second season and also used those episodes to set up the second season.

For me personally there is a huge difference between the first 6 or 7 episodes and the next few.... and then again the episodes airing after the holiday hiatus.

They had a tight and linear storyline at first, then in stage 2  they expanded the story and slowed down the pace knowing they would have more episodes, and  then stage 3 was changing the format from the lead-up to the murder to the post murder story arc and setting up Season 2.

If they knew going in they would have 23 episodes and a second season I am willing to bet the pace would have been slower and showed more of the character's personal stories right from the beginning.

I could be way off.... but I personally see a huge difference in the tone and pacing of the episodes.... It has been a very uneven season.

  14. I see the difference too and you could be right I'm not arguing about that. I just mean that the showrunner had to had more than one season planned out.

There is also possibility that he changed the plot along the way. I remember reading somwhere (I'm not sure of it and correct me if I'm wrong) that in the begining it was suppose to be Daniel dead but then Mike saw that viewers like Daniel so he decided to change the it.

  15. I can easily believe Daniel was supposed to be dead. It fits how everything was fitting together in the first episodes.

Having him live does allow them to open up a few story arcs he fits into. I can see why they did it after finding out they have another season coming.
It annoys me when showrunners change their plans to appease fans... I'm not sure I liked Daniel or disliked him, but if he was supposed to die I would prefer that he was dead and the show stuck to its original plan.

  16. I liked Daniel in the in the begining and I sincerely felt sorry for him cause of what Emily/Amanda was doing to him. It's not his fault what his parents did to Emily/Amanda and her father but she used him for revenge regardless. But now Daniel is once again like he was before we met him self-centered insecure and parent-dependant guy. He probably still loves her but now his family intervenes and he is becoming his fathers son.

  17. Hmm, the plot sounded intriguing, but these snek peeks aren't really doing it for me.  My have to strike this one off my 'to watch' list.
