  1. Wow, I am so fucking pissed right now. FUCK YOU, IPS writers. That was not at all "satisfying" like the reviews said it was. Who thought that was a good idea?

I literally cried! Which I said I was going to do if M/M didn't end up together, but I didn't expect it to actually happen.

At least we'll have fix it fic.

  2. The fuckery. Shake my fucking head. It was ruined. They were robbed. #DISAPPOINTED. They had the opportunity to give the fans what they wanted and all we got was teasing fuckery. #UGH SO SICK OF BS WRITERS.

  3. Huh...in an attempt to not do what everyone was expecting, they screwed up pretty bad. I was never a big fan of the show anyway, I just wanted to see how it would end between them. Kind of a stupid decision from the writers.

  4. Okay not cool at all IPS writers. Not fucking cool at all. Dude! You blew it! No one likes Abigail! You had so many opportunities to get them together, and after five seasons they fucking deserved it!!!! Let's be honest here!!!

  5. That was horrible.  One of the worst finales I've ever seen.  There wasn't one satisfying thing in it.  I would have rather had Mary end up with Faber and Marshall with Shelley than the crap we got.  They're not even partners anymore!  Did they not read the first 45 minutes of the show and randomly came up with the worst ending ever?  Good-bye, USA network.  So done with you.  Will not be buying these dvds.

  6. Now I see why they stopped at 5 seasons.  It's like they rushed to put the series finale together. 8 episodes too??  They could of done one last great story with the last 5 including a M/M story.  Wouldn't be so bad if Abby's character had more balls but she is so girly.

  8. Awesome. About the only way it could end. As much as I like Mary and Marshall they simply do not belong together in a marriage.

Everyone had to grow and move on. Great job!

    1. I agree. This was the best way to end the show. Very satisfied.

  9. I wanted Mary & Marshall to get to get together just like everyone else, but wait who is this about us being satisfied or Mary and Marshall being happy?

Marshall loves Abby deeply,he wants to be with her,SHE makes him HAPPY,so should we deny him his happiness..i think not,so wish him well..

To tell you the truth i think Mary found her future love, did you see the look she gave him a few times during the episode, and at the end, personally i think they wound up together...

Considering the office was going to close down,i don't think Mary lost a partner.Okay technically she did but at least they will be working together in the same office not thousands of miles away from each other..

I'm happy Mary came to terms with her farther, and she can think of him w/o bitterness. Also, knowing your baby will be taken care of helps..In the end it wasn't perfect but then again i don't know anyone that has a perfect life,a perfect love but Marshall was right,at least for me,i am happy for them, but knowing there will never be another episode saddens me to no end, that's what i'll cry for....

  10.  But why do you think they should have made the fans happy and not Mary & Marshall? Did we spend 4 years telling the writers that they had to make the viewers, the fans happy, that that was their job,and to hell with the story,to hell with Mary & Marshall? I wished they had gotten together too but after seeing the episode last night i understand just how much Marshall loved Abby, and the love he feels for Mary is so very different. I think that the promos hurt the ending because when Marshall said he loved her it was taken out of context, and when it' didn't go down the way we expected it disappointed us,if not down right piss us off.If you care to my read post it's above, maybe you'll see where i'm coming from...  :)

  11.  So far i think its just us that liked the way it ended.

  12. It really didn't bother me that they didn't end up together. Mary and that guy that she ended up with seem like they could be good together.

  13.  Indeed! Mary always kept her boyfriends at arms length, that was her saftey net so for her to invite him tho the party, well that was something very special!! I think she finally found the one!  :)

  14. I know I'm in a very small minority but I loved it.  I was so against them making Marshall and Mary a couple.    I really missed the Friday polls I was expecting to be one of maybe three people to vote awesome.  The only thing that disappointed me this season would have been for Rafael to return without a wife.  (i.e. for Mary)  I wanted her with him for the final ep...not a new face.

But all in all I thought the series ended well.  Nice to see Stan and Marshall getting promotions.

  15. Here's a thing I've learned about promos....ALMOST EVERY TIME a promo deals with a major question for a show (Mary & Marshal pledging their love,  the twins coming face to face on Ringer etc.) the implication in the promo is NOT what happens in the episode.

They design the promos to get you to tune in expecting them to finally do what you've been waiting for....and they don't.

Once you apply that rule....it doesn't hurt as bad when you don't get the scene you've been waiting for.

  16.  I agree completely,i think that might of been one of the problems for other people. They were lead to believe something they were wishing for all along.

  17.  To tell you the true before the episode aired i also wanted M&M to get together. But as the episode played out i was very happy with the way things ended.I think it ended exactly as it should have..and i think Mary found Mr.Right!  Great show which i will miss terribly!

  18. I think my problems is anyone who was interested in the show was going to tune in to see the finale. So there was no reason to throw the M&M trick at us except to rub it in for the people who wanted them together. In the end, beyond how hasty everything was, and Marshall settling, and Mary ending up with random dude, that was what bugged me the most.  I was never that interested in Mary and Marshall, but they'd had other people who were good with Mary that we got to know (Raph being one of them), and for the entire final season they kept telling us that Marshall was the only one that Mary let in and the only one that Mary trusted and the only one that was there for her in all things even at 4 in the morning...so to end it after that build up and those promos it seemed like a betrayal.

IMO The finale is the one place that the promo writers shouldn't pull the bait and switch.

  19. I remember reading, when one of my favorite shows had a promo that spoiled a really good episode cliffhanger, that the show's production staff had little or nothing to do with the promos.  If that's the case it's really too bad because it's hard to direct your anger to the right place where it could actually do some good.  Because you're right...this was the WRONG time for a bait and switch.

  21. The problem is not simply that shippers didn't get the ending they wanted--it's that the ending itself came out of nowhere and seemed to have little to do with the characters we've always known because of how Fred and Mary portrayed them.

Fred played Marshal as deeply in love with Mary. He continued to do so until at least the beginning of season five. How do we know this? It's not really a matter open for debate precisely because that's what Fred's said in pretty much every interview he's ever done about the series. Even at the beginning of season five he said Marshal loved Mary and he hoped they'd get the chance to hook up. And Mary McCormack, who had been quiet for the first couple of years of the run, eventually conceded that not only is Marshal in love with her character but that Mary loves him back.

In the rooftop scene, however, all the writing and acting of the past four and a half years was thrown out the window and we are expected to believe that not only is he not in love with her, but he has NEVER loved her romantically. We are asked to deny everything we've seen and everything the actors have ever said about their characters.

In other words, the writers have treated the viewers with the worst kind of disrepect by not only duping us, but by ret-conning the ENTIRE series. How the actors themselves are not livid is beyon me but it might explain why we're hearing virtuqally nothing from them on Twitter about the finale.
