Thanks to WildTVaddict for the heads up.
Fringe creators Jeff Pinkner and J.H. Wyman set aside some time out to talk to our universe today in a conference call with reporters that was both informative and absurdly gracious. Naturally, they talked about the oh-so-exciting renewal for a final 13-episode season and gave us details about the upcoming two-part finale, which begins this Friday. Let's hit the bullet points!
– There were rumors of two different endings to Season 4, shot in case Fringe wasn't renewed for Season 5. Well, that was apparently completely bogus. They thought about shooting alternate endings, but they didn't film anything other than the ending we'll see.
– Will we see the Red Universe again? THEY CAN'T SAY YET! They're very protective of their story. The bridge can open again, or it couldn't. We'll have to wait and see. But if you ask me, if you think it won't ever be seen again, you're bonkers!
– What about the future scenario of 2036, as seen in "Letters of Transit," will we see that again? "Yes I think it's safe to say we will," said Wyman. And that totally blew my mind, because I thought it was just a "What if?" scenario. They did not specify whether we would see the future in the finale or in Season 5, but my guess is Season 5. Either way, understanding the events that led to what we saw in 2036 will be instrumental to understanding the series.

..... But if you ask me, if you think it won't ever be seen again, you're bonkers!...^CHECK... Nope I'm totally not bonkers and I'm pretty sure we might see the Alter World back... Question is though: In WHICH condition.......♥
ReplyDeleteDef agree on most counts! Thanks!
ReplyDelete"understanding the events that led to what we saw in 2036 will be instrumental to understanding the series" and another rewatch of Letters of Transit is called for ;o)
ReplyDeleteI think they meant to say that the show, maybe in season 5, will probably end in a scene on the lab with our characters being locked inside the amber, so it'll connect to the future seen in 2036. But I think it was clear to anyone.
ReplyDeleteThe article also says they're hoping that Leonard Nimoy is in season 5, so it implies he's not in the finale...
ReplyDeleteI'm dissapointed...
Lincoln must come back!
ReplyDeleteI def think we are going to get to 2036, but I could see more than one way of doing it...I could see them starting from 2015 and then flash forwarding to 2036 for a few episodes, but I def agree since we have a season 5 that 2036 is the place to go to!
ReplyDeleteYeah I don't know if they're just pulling our leg here. I really hope that he does make an appearance..but I think we could come to "meet" William Bell again with out LN...if he snatched a body once, who's to say he couldn't do it again, but I hope if that's the case it comes through someone other than Olivia this time...maybe Jessica Holt?
ReplyDeleteThe latest comic also deals with W. Bell, as some how he has sent echoes of his conscience through time in which Nina's arm "writes" messages...it turns out Bell planned an elaborate trail that leads to a hidden room in MD....where Bell created another hand for Nina, but a hand that wasn't finished till "now", as it was designed to "build itself"...
Bridge-smidge. No bridge necessary. I want to see Olivia grab Peter and Cortexiphan the both of them over to the red universe for a visit. Preferably, I'd like to see them appear in Walternate's office or Fauxlivia's apartment during a moment with Lincoln because that would be funny.
ReplyDeleteWhat do you think was clear to anyone?
ReplyDeleteI just want another reason to watch 'Letters of Transit' again LOL
but seriously... they say the events that lead to 2036 are important to the series, not the season.. not a character.. but the whole story.. i find this very interesting! obv. things going back to season 1 are more connected that we even realize.. rippling through time & effecting everything thereafter... my hope for season 5 is a pulling together of all the breadcrumbs to form a single red line from start to finish that puts everything together.. that shows, similar to LOST, the (sometimes) futility of 'Free Will' i.e. even when we think we're breaking the pattern and changing the future we may actually be doing exactly what we were supposed to do to bring about that future..
and i think they are saying if you understand how 2036 happened, you'll understand what the show has been trying to tell you.. and season 5 will be a fleshing out of those events
So many possibilities and unknowns and another season to do them in. Couldn't ask for a lot more,it's going to be a great ride.
ReplyDeleteIf we don't get to see the Red Verse again I will be bitterly disappointed
ReplyDeleteWell, I got my answer on will we see the continuation of the episode Letter of Transit
ReplyDeleteI am going to trust them if there is no L.N. , then my next guess is C.L. -Roscoe Joyce (Bobby may live and the band never broke up)
ReplyDeleteHere's my other leg guys, just don't pull too hard!
