I'm definitely on board with this... I know they'd probably have better exposure on ABC, but if they'll be better appreciated over on TBS, I'm definitely all for it! Especially if they're thinking about picking it up for two seasons :)
Oh my god, seriously? Is this actually going to happen? Because when the show came back and the ratings were disappointing I kind of accepted that this season would be its last and I kind of came to terms with it because I knew it would end on a high. Now this is happening? This miracle? I am overjoyed if it comes true and Deadline is usually going with this kind of thing.
TBS usually dont have over 2 million viewers on their shows. Cougar Town could easily with being on basic cable end up with around the same numbers i think. Also it looks like both TBS and ABC will make a good profit themself just for syndication, with ABC taking around 60% of the makings i guess.
I think it's a pity in case ABC does not want to renew CT - and I was really afraid that might happen. But now - I'm so happy, I don't care which network broadcasts it, as long as it IS broadcasted at all :) And maybe it gets really good ratings and ABC will regret dumping the show (in case they're doing it).
Wow...this is unexpected and awesome! Never heard of TBS but sounds like they're serious about Cougar Town. Fingers crossed the show continues in some way.
Would be amazing. The only thing is, why only 30 episodes over 2 seasons? Why not 48 like it suppose to be? I'm very happy for 2 more season but is it because it's cable network?
Yep. Cable networks don't due 22 cost seasons. Most shows run for 13 episodes a season on cable. Pay cable (HBO, Starz, the sorts) generally run seasons of 8-10 episodes!
WHAT?! This would be amazing. I am usually not too hopeful about other networks scooping up shows since it happens so rarely. But this is fantastic news. Hope it happens!
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Holy shit! I don't want ABC to cancel it, but TBS is already sounding like the better option!

ReplyDeleteI don't even watch this show and I'm happy for this news. I never want to see a show cancelled that has a strong fan base.

Definitelly sounds like "talks" are going well....
ReplyDeleteI wonder if the "competition" might persuade ABC to keep it in the line up...?

ReplyDeleteI can't wait till they make it official so we'll know for sure.
ReplyDeleteI had accepted its fate too. What a great surprise this is if it comes to fruition!
ReplyDeleteI wonder if TBS will let them change the name?
