Kind of had a "24" feel for me with the use of split screens and a caustic computer programmer. Do wish we could have found out a bit about the bright red Georgia clay.
Loved it. Robbie Thompson is the best addition to the writing team since Jeremy Carver in season 3. Charlie was a great guest-star and I hope she'll be back next season. I loved that the boys had to be crafty and smart to thwart Dick's plan. And FINALLY, they disguised themselves as something other than Feds !
I was expecting less boys to be honest (since they filmed this episode iun the first weeks of march, right around Gen's due date...so with Jared's break and all...). I'm glad the boys were there on schedule
Wow. One of the better episodes of the season. Hell, one of the better episodes of the entire show. I was impressed. Clever, creative dialog and plot progression. THat's right, /progression/. On everything from DIck Roman, to Bobby's ghostiness. I feel so bad for Bobby. :( But Roman was actually really interesting this episode. Loved it. Love love love.
I enjoyed it, not what I hoped for however. I found it a bit slow and not real exciting. But it was still good. I liked Charlie's character. She was funny. And of course the scene with Dean talking her through the pick up with the guard was great. Sam laughing and his part about Harry Potter.. I so agree with Dean... Seriously Sammy????
It did pick up at the end. And I fear Bobby's headed down a bad road that can't end good. And the brothers know it. As for the Leviathans I was a bit disappointed. They've sort of scaled back the 'ewww' factor with them. They need to be a bit more threatening and gory in my opinion. I still cringe when I think about episode 3 "Everything tastes better with cheese."
All in all I enjoyed it, just not as much action as I had hoped for.
I'm going to be the odd one out here and say that I honestly hated it. I cared nothing for Charlie and certainly didn't care enough about her to see her do everything with the boys in the car. I would understand about it being around Thomas' birth, but this has been going on all season with the guest stars when it wasn't even necessary. Dean and Sam have just disappeared and I'm finding myself bored.
Well...that was more underwhelming than I'd expected. Not bad, but not overly exciting either. There were some good parts...I liked the continuation of the Bobby angle. Had a feeling he'd start slipping into angry spirit territory. Have to admit I was torn on that one...I was cheering him on for getting in his licks against Dick but at the same time it was sad to see the effect it was having on him...and on the guys. Also really liked Felicia Day...she was a hoot as Charley. And the whole flirting with the guard scene was the high point. "This never happened, Sam!" But all in all I kind of agreed with Dean...it was frustrating having the guys stuck in the van while everyone else was doing the dirty work. Glad to see them finally getting in on it at the very end. And I have to say...while Dick himself was ratcheting up the skeevy factor this week, in general the Leviathans continue to bore me as big bads. They just don't have the same impact some of the other big bads have had. And now we've got more questions added to the mix...what's the hunk of red clay and why is it so important to Dick? And how exactly will they be able to stop him? Still plenty to do in the last three episodes, so I'm looking forward to seeing what they bring. All in all, I'd give this one an 8 out of 10 for the mildly boring factor.
Loved it. The one nitpick would be the flashbacks and time jumps, but overall a fun episode. I even liked Dick, in a love-to-hate kind of way. They are so breaking their promise not to contact her again.
I wouldn't go that far.. God it wasn't even close to that debacle with Becky and the wedding.. But you aren't completely alone in your feelings. I didn't hate it, I found it 'Good' at best. I enjoyed it but it wasn't one of the best ones this season.
Maybe it was more of just being tired of the having the guest stars featured over the main stars. I didn't like it but it probably was better than the wedding episode.
I thought for a second they figured out Charlie was working with the boys and I was totally expecting the levi to turn to Charlie and go back to the boys pretending to be her ...guess I as wrong;-P
At least Baby was mentioned, get her home, guys. I loved the ep, hate that it seems Frank is dead, but with this show things just are not like they seem all the time, so will keep my fingers crossed.
Finally movement with the Levis and Bobby got to kick some ass, just don't want him going dark side. Charlie was great and loved the Harry Potter pep talk. The Leviathans are by far the worse big bads the series have had..to me anyway, so any movement in the story is welcome. Alastair was the scariest baddie to me.
It was one of the best episodes. I loved Sam laughing as Dean told Charlie how to hit on the guard. Charlie saying I feel dirty. Dean saying me too. lol. It was fabulous actually. Good action, good storyline, and superb Sam and Dean. I am so worried over Bobby. They are correct. It's not him.
An enjoyable episode. I liked the 'caper' aspect of it. It was kind of 'Ocean's 11' the way they went back and forth with the timeline and showed us the result, then how it was accomplished. I liked Charlie, so I'm glad they didn't kill her. The boys need to know they don't get everyone killed. :) There was humor and intrigue as well as a bit of action. I don't think Bobby is acting out of character or particularly vengeful, so the worry the boys seem to be showing about that is a bit premature, but I understand the foreshadowing. I just think it's forced at this point.
Frank was a crafty bastard, but it looks like the Levi actually did find and kill him. Too bad. He was fun. Loved Dean and Sam in the van. :) Two big guys crammed into a van full of equipment. I was hoping they'd play that up a bit more.
My only gripe is that they gave us so much info on what Dick's plans were in such a short span of time. Why didn't they spread all that out over the last few eps and make it a little more believable. ghost Bobby just fills them in and then they know what's going on. Couldn't they have started putting the pieces together little by little sooner? Seems like there was a lot of wasted time just giving tiny clues but no real information.
But, all in all, it was fun. Considering everything they've been through and everything they're up against, Charlie surviving and gaining new info on Dick's plans is a win. They are in dire need of a few of those.
I LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT! it was that good and I do not say that about most of the eps. she was awesone I so love that girl she was so cool and to help the guys was great. and then it got kind of O-11 on me I did not know what was going on tell the end that was cool the thing with bobby was great but I kind of know he wants to help but what the guys was talking about at the end can happen so I feel for that all in all great ep I love sam showing his geek side too thats hot and thats it.
I loved it! All kinds of awesome! A nicely written and well paced action and brotherly packed episode Charlie was great, and our boys a solid team in every way down to talking about Bobby and what to do. This is what we need to see and I hope we get more of our boys in Season 8 once we move past Castiel and the Angel mythology and what happens with Bobby. It was a mistake killing Bobby He's family and an important part of the show and the boys lives.
great episode loved it and great choice to have felicia day i hope she comes back one day she was great! Bobby fighting Dick was sweet i've been waiting for something like that. I wonder what happend to Devaeruex really i mean he's probably dead but not so sure Dick likes to keep special people and i think frank was pretty special lol (u know what i mean) Dick’s big plan is very confusing more then a lot of plotlines lol. Im just waiting for the big showdown Dean and Sam, Bobby the Ghost, Castiel the Angel, Meg the demon, and (new guy) Kevin the prophet that will be one hell of a team lol.
i have a question. what does the title of the episode have anything to do with it? I get she's a geek but they never mentioned d&d and they just talked about leia tatoo. Why didnt they say the girl with the princess leia tatoo. Would've attracted more dudes lol.
I think the fact that Bobby suddenly got so powerful was a sign that he was channeling his rage, not his Zen. So I don't think Sam and Dean were overreacting.
My response on all of info coming from Bobby was that I didn't think Bobby had looked at the plans for more than a few seconds. Maybe Dick was nice enough to bullet point his evil plan for rapid scanning ...
I agree about the last part. When Bobby filled them in on EVERYTHING it made the boys look really stupid and incompetent. They should have been aware of at least a part of Dick's plan. Dean knew about Dick buying food joints, wasn't he ?
Great episode. Loved the time jump stuff, reminded me of Ocean's 11 actually. Especially the bag switch at the airport.
Patience everyone about the clay, all will be revealed in the upcoming episodes. You don't expect everything to be revealed in one night do you. Then you would have no reason to watch it next week if they revealed all.
I think the Leviathans are scary, but not in the way of past monsters. They are more a thinking man's monster. They have a plan like yellow-eyes had a plan for Sam. These guys have a plan for the world and being they could be anyone and the boys have to be careful about who to trust.
I liked Charley, I thought she was funny and just right mix of geekiness and bravery. I get that the boys don't like it when they have depend on others, but as it was pointed out, there was no way they could get in there and do what needed to be done.
I am not so scared for Bobby. I know he has some issues with Dick and I don't blame him. I mean the levi did kill him after all. I think Bobby will be ok in the end.
I loved it as a story, but the way Sam & Dean have disappeared this season has me angry and confused. You're right, it's more than Gen's due date. They had no main story except filler all year. Do the writers and producers really think having the boys in the background is what we want? Are they that stripped of ideas?
I thought it was very entertaining, love Robbie Thompson as a writer, and Felicia Day was adorable.
But Sam & Dean's roles are getting smaller as the season goes on, and it's more than Gen's pregnancy. The stories are all about the side characters, with the brothers reacting. I will be very upset if others are the main drivers of the finale. I didn't mind it here as much, because R Thompson is such a good writer.
At least there was a reference to the Impala. I swear that was real longing on Jensen's face lol
I remember at an earlier convention, Jensen answered a question about when the Impala would be back, and Bob Singer swore it would be "soon." Hey Jensen, they lied to you.
Yeah, but that was at the end. They seemed too concerned at the beginning. They wouldn't let Bobby help because they were afraid of him showing some kind of vengeance against Dick, but on what grounds? He hadn't done anything. Like I said, I understand they need to foreshadow Bobby maybe going all vengeful spirit, but they seem to be forcing it before it even happens. Just left me wondering if I'd missed something.
And yeah, Bobby must've taken a speed reading course or something if he got all that info in one quick look at one folder on Dick's desk. That or he's the most intuitive person ever. :) I wish they would've been able to figure things out gradually instead of force feeding us everything in one ep. It's not like they didn't have the time...
About that -- have no idea why they made a point of showing that, but don't they have to actually touch your skin? I mean Bobby was wearing gloves when he was trying to torture Chet, and Chet was only able to turn into Bobby when they accidentally touched skin to skin. So grabbing Charlie's arm around her shirt? That wouldn't do anything.
I had the same reaction to the scene. They emphasized him grabbing her so it had to be for a reason but there was no actual contact. Whole thing bugged me in an otherwise good episode.
Holy crap! That episode was awesome! The first episode I've thoroughly enjoyed since Death's Door. More episodes like this please! More info about the Leviathans please! More interesting plots like this please!
How to survive being a female character on SPN? Be super geeky and completely unattractive to the boys either by being overly fangirly or being a lesbian.
I like the episode. But Charlie rubbed me the wrong way and I don't even know why. I think cause she was TOO geeky. Also, I felt a disconnect between a super hacker who commits crimes and changes her identity, to someone whose idol and mentor is Hermione Granger.
But other than that, I'm super curious as to what it is that they stole and I'm loving Bobby's powers. Makes me excited about the finale.
That was quite possibly the best episode of the season so far, in my opinion. I loved Charlie. She was amazing. I'm sad that we'll likely never see her again. The other thing I loved was Sam and Dean being smart again. Charlie may have done the hacking, but all the other stuff, the breaking in and the suitcase switch was all them. It was great. Can't wait to find out more about the mystery package. And I have to say that Bobby blended nicely into the story.
The episode was everything I hoped for, and more. Maybe you have to be a bit geeky to truly appreciate Charlie Bardbury, but it is the age of the geek according to Leverage, no? :) I just loved Felicia as Charley, I hope she'll returns next season.
This episode did more for the main plot then the last say 10 episodes for me. I guess the red clay bears the stone tablet with cuneiform inscription probably as old as Babylonian (wasn't the clay found in Iraq?) we saw in the trailer for next episode.
This inscription either helps with stopping Dick and his ugly friends and puts them back into Purgatory for good, or it helps Dick in his quest to suppress the 6 billion walking meals also known as the humans.
Bobby as an angry ghost is somewhat sad to see but totally understandable. I really hope there is some way to either sent him on his way or and I would prefer bring Bobby back permanently as a human. It's Supernatural, this happens all the time, Death and this Natural Order.......well one more exception.....for Bobby...... won't hurt.
Under the bed would get very crowded, Christopher Heyerdahl as Alastair is by far the scariest demon or character of any kind on SPN, he was awesome. LOL
I agree with almost everything you said - the time jumps being more distracting than clever and too many quirky characters rather than normal people. Frank, Garth, Becky, and the other extreme characters have been getting on my nerves, but in this case I made an exception. I know geeks, and this wasn't an exaggeration. I used to work with someone who lived in his parent's basement, would attend ComCon in costume, would often quote Star Wars, and whose desk was decorated similar to Charlie's with the action figures. Felicia really sold the character and was fun to watch, so that helped.
I kind of couldn't stop laughing when Dick said, "You're kind of completing me right now, Charlie..." I loved all the geeky references in this episode, too.. so awesome! Charlie was great, and I'm glad they didn't get rid of her. Sam's Harry Potter pep talk was absolutely priceless, and Dean flirting with the security guy through Charlie was hilarious. Overall, I really loved it. It was a Leviathan-centered episode with fun characters to take a bit of the angst and the edge off, but they didn't ignore the path that Bobby might be spiraling down. I loved how the episode was structured, too. It had a very cool feel.
Great mix of action and humour. Charlie was such an enjoyable character even if they could have toned down her geeky side a little.
ROTF on "I'm so manly" Dean giving Charlie a step-by-step lesson on how to hit on a guy. The Writers just love feeding the beast, right? ;-D
Finally, the leviathans plan is out in the open, and it's a big one. I love how all the pieces of the puzzle fit in, but having Bobby explaining it in a few words that was somehow anti-climatic.
The brief face-to-face moment between Dick and the brothers was intense even if (or maybe even more because) they have to run away. They are not strong enough yet, but at least this time, they won a battle.
Sooner or later, Dean and Sam will have to deal with Ghost Bobby. I think Bobby will ask for it himself when he realise his place is not with them anymore. I hope they can conjure a reaper to help him go to heaven.
I agree! It was a good episode but definitely not one of the best. It was entertaining but they seemed to let the first half of the show drag then try and cram everything into the second half. I also agree with you about the previous episodes. I get the feeling they will now try an wrap everything up in the last three. Still I did enjoy the episode. And I can't wait to see what they do the rest of the season.
When I saw Bobby teetering on the vengeful spirit line with Dick, I said, "Balls!" I really hope if they get rid of him a second time it's as a good as Death's Door (but how probable is that?). Or maybe when they get rid of the Leviathan, they get a reward and Bobby either gets to go to heaven or gets resurrected. All I know is I love me some Bobby Singer (and Jim Beavers in general).
Well, we as an audience already had it pieced together (right?) so it was about time for the boys to know (they have had one hell of a year and maybe their brains are overloaded or it's just bad writing at times, I go with the former for argument's sake).
I'm wondering where he's going to end up, too. I just want both Cas and Bobby to get decent endings if they have to go for good - I hated the long walk into the lake in 7x02, though Bobby had a pretty great send-off. Fighting off his reaper to get Sam and Dean an important piece of information? So great. If he goes again, you're right - it needs to be on par with if not greater than Death's Door.
They were trying but Dick made it explicitly clear that some humans just can not be fully cloned/duplicated because they have something special, that enduring human spirit that keeps us going/hoping and leads us to do great things
Really, I could care less about Castiel, TBH but I know a lot of fans LOVE him so I hope they get a satisfying ending as well (I've been practicing my diplomacy, can you tell?)
I think we will find out more about that piece of GA clay soon enough in coming weeks and what it really means for the future of the world. How in the world can Sam and Dean and Bobby get rid of Dick Roman? Nothing seems to destroy him! Could he be a clone of Lucifer somehow? Loved the show last night and I like Charlie a lot. She put herself in danger for the boys once she found out what was going on, but at least she did not get killed. I don't want Bobby to disappear, so I am glad that he is around when the boys "call" on him, even though I know that they think that this is simply not right, but they must understand that Bobby is only there to help them when they need it. Next week's promo really threw me. The only image I could get was the one of Cas sitting up in bed. I know that he is supposed to "wake up" and come to his senses, but with only 3 episodes left of this awesome season, everything has to come together and very soon! Looking forward to it, either way!
Hahaha it's definitely more diplomatic than some of the things I've read! I'm one of those fans that loves him (even in the face of the bad decisions he's made), so I speak on behalf of many of us when I say that I appreciate it :)
LOL, love the way you think. I just watched it again and also loved the Veronica Mars crack..that show was another that I got hooked on from the first ep.
I remember him saying that now. But it leaves me with even more questions like how they were able to clone Sam and Dean. If anybody in that show has something special, it's those two.
AWESOME! Definitely awesome! There are no words that could describe how much I loved it! And is it just me or did anyone else have "24" feeling looking at this split screens and all! Brilliant!
Sam pep talk was funny as hell, and Dean "dumbledork!" LOL
I like how the brothers can be with each other all the time and still keep those little secrets from each other.
I imagine Sam pretending to go to the library for some research just to be able to read HP in peace without is brother mocking him. Or Dean watching Dr sexy and quickly changing the channel for some more "deanely correct" porn as soon as he hear Sam coming back.
The second time man was created in the Eden, he was created from clay! (The first iteration of humans are not talked about later). May be SPN is going to bring some twist in that regard?
Haha you're right, I can imagine all of this! And as dysfunctional as their lives may seem at times, I love how they're just like any other brothers deep down - brothers that love to rag on each other for their "guilty pleasures" :)
They did talk a lot about cloning in this episode, and the "spark" that made some humans irrepleacable. Maybe Dick's trying to get past this obstacle. Learning exactly what makes humans tick could help.
I think in the last episode when Bobby said he'd chosen to stay, Dean immediately remembered what Tessa told him about spirits who refuse to go with their reaper. They all eventually turn. So Dean instantly felt it was a forgone conclusion for Bobby. So I don't think their worry was premature.
I hope they both get a decent sendoff. Like it or not, they've been Sam and Dean's biggest allies and part of "Team Free Will", so they deserve as much.
Don't think Dick and Luci are clones. Actually, I think Luci is easier to stop...he's still an archangel, so an angel blade would work on him. Dick is turning out to be a much harder nut to crack.
That was my thought when they revealed the clay. Being that it came from the Middle East I thought maybe it will somehow tie in with creation? We shall see.
That would be really awesome: Brain and a poor substitute for brawn with Garth, he trying to hit on her and Charlie having to remind her that she is a lesbian XD
This has become one of my favorite episodes of the show; call me heretic, but I firmly believe that the brothers should not be the main focus of every episode, I love when we see the SPN world through side characters, and Day's character really carried this episode, and the writing and directing and style was just awesome.
Don't get me wrong, my favorite episodes are about the brothers (Swan Song and When the Levee Breaks are my top two) But the ones when we see the world through side characters are my second type of favorite episode, I believe it enriches the mythology of the show.
Awesome Levy developments building towards the season finale, and I feel we are finally in track for a cohesive arc, and I love it!
Why don't we see what is fixing to happen. We no longer have Sera. She was always wrong to head the show. Let's see what happens shall we? I guess I am so tired of hearing complaints. I would just love to see the fans be fans. I loved it. I am glad I had it to see. I appreciate having the show.
Who said we're not being fans? Being a fan doesn't mean being a mindless drone who loves everything they see. Not every episode is that great...that's to be expected. Nobody said it was terrible, some of us just didn't like it as much as we did other episodes. Doesn't mean we don't appreciate the show.
hey girl be careful dont hiperventilate your writing cool down i am completely agree with you when i read your post i decide to reply in your behave those other people are crazy & hate full followers who like bother people like us supernatural police squad
Pretty much every Harry Potter reference was over my head -- never saw or read any of them. Still I chuckled at the Veronica Mars, Star Wars and War Games nods. :)
Before the 'sin' and 'fall', this second creation was perfect. I mean prefect in sense of agelessness and disease. Is SPN going for that... may be(D. Roman wants us perfect isn't he?). Moreover if it all comes to this 'cloning'... Leviathans are one thing short... Souls! That's the 'spark' and something that ticks us. You can go ahead and say it is the ego(power) of brain(computer). Now I see what season 6 meant with all that 'no-soul' business.
I hope you're right. It always saddened me they never went really deep about the meaning of souls in season 6. That would give a lot more meaning to Sera's work.
I strongly disagree. Even thougt we havent seen an episode solely dedicated to the brothers and their relationship (Which I kinda like, because finaly they are in a good place, a plateau of sorts)We had the whole Amy arc, and honestly, like 70% of the episods ahs focused either in Sam on Dean, so unless you want them basically with a camera following them each and every second, I dunno what you expect.
I expect the stories to be about them. You say the episodes has been focused on them, but you're mistaken. They're not focused on them like they have in the first seasons.
I mean like Sam dealing with having powers or the demon blood or losing Jessica. Dean dealing with the loss of his father, with the guilt of hell, with no longer trusting Sam.
The Amy arc was not about Sam or Dean. Not really. Not deeply enough at any rate. And then after that it's mostly about the gimmicks. Dean goes back in time! Witches that need counseling! A city of psychics! Bobby's a ghost now! Castiel thinks he's some other person and now he took in Sam's craziness! Dean has a monster kid! DUN DUN DUUUUN.
Stories I'd like to see that would return the focus on them. It's difficult cause I can't really think of any good ones, which makes me wonder if their stories are all done, which is sad...and which kind of means the show needs to end. But just cause I can't think of anything good doesn't mean anything. What I want is...Dean does something because of something. Sam does something because of something. And I don't mean, "Because Castiel betrayed him, Dean kills Amy." But more like... "Because Dean can't deal with losing any more people in his life, he starts taking greater risks to protect the ones he has." "Because Sam feels the Hell!Crazies was his problem, he goes behinds his brother's back in order to find a way to either cure Castiel or return it back to himself."
Stuff like that. More personal stuff, where they take responsibility, a real personal reACTION/response/ to the things that are happening to them, rather than just shaking their heads and looking sad.
Oh Sue, you have to get on board with Harry Potter. While the first couple are definitely children's books the others are not. Plus J. K. Rowling can really write unlike a certain unnamed trilogy's author.
But then what was the Amy thing? seriously. It was about taking a choice, no one forced him, if that's not an ACTION of a very deeply personal understanding, I don't know what is it.
I completely agree, though, that in the stories this season, there has been a mild lack of character introspection, but I peg on it on the jaded atmosphere of the arc. I prefer that to fall in another angst rut.
But it does makes me think if there's more growth possible for the brothers or if they reached their plateau. So much crap has happened to them and their relationship now is solid enough that they can brush mistakes the other makes.
But even beyond that; the form, the style and the plot of the episode do not dictate emotional punch. I mean, an episode can be completely about over-sized potatoes possessed by the ghosts of Hun invaders, but it could easily have an more emotional side for the brothers. What I mean is, it's like they chose to show less internal conflict, assuming a more stable relationship for the brothers and focus on the external threats; is not my cup of tea either, but its a theme with the season, not the format of the episodes, I guess.
Your last bit " it's like they chose to show less internal conflict, assuming a more stable relationship for the brothers and focus on the external threats" is also what I think they've done this season, more so than any other season, and I don't like it either. I'm hoping with the next season it's different.
loved it. loved all the nerdy references and that i got every single one of them. especially sam with hermione. and dean instructing charlie on flirting was hilarious!!! loving the whole leviathan storyline, its sooo intriguing! can't wait for next week!
I voted OK, it wasnt bad it wasnt good it was just....OK. Kinda meh last the last 2 episodes were. Again I felt like I didnt really need Sam and Dean to be there for the episode to work, it would have been fine without them.
I liked Charlie but dont care if I never see her again. She kinda reminded me of Willow from Buffy, red hair, lesbian, computer genius, sense of humur.
Dick Roman is kinda interesting to watch, I still find the Leviathan's boring and I thought their master plan was really...um well it reminded me off Buffy. The vamps build a machine to harvest human blood and plan on turning the human race into their own lunch line? essentially changing the order of the food chain. I thought there were a few similarities in the plan. Maybe it was just me?
Its not an episode I will ever feel the need to watch again or really remember if I'm honest.
Sam is only a year older than I am and I read Harry Potter at school, so chances are Sam would have read the book when he was a kid/teenager. I doubt he would have neded to hide. Also Dean knew who Dumbledore was so clearly he has either read the book too or watched the movies? Sam also could have just watched the movies?
Jared is always swoon worthy even more so now that he's a daddy. Sam carrying Charlie?Sexiest thing I've seen on this show in forever. Miss Day was a very lucky lady.
Finally got to watch the episode and I really, really loved it. I mean, it somehow didn't even feel like Supernatural, but I think it was awesome... for what it was :P
Was awesome Charlie was funny it look likes Bobby can help the boys after all he did put dick down pretty hard even if he did cause Charlie to break her arm
Voted "Awesome", because I love the idea of some unique people being so unique and bloody brilliant, that Leviathans can't copy them, no matter how hard they try.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Kind of had a "24" feel for me with the use of split screens and a caustic computer programmer. Do wish we could have found out a bit about the bright red Georgia clay.
ReplyDeletethis was awesome
ReplyDeleteThat was amazing! I love Charlie! One of my new favorite characters, tbh. A+ Harry Potter references and Harry/Hermione shipping there.
ReplyDeleteAwww at Bobby. I hate that's getting all vengeful ghost and hurt Charlie by accident.
I wonder what the Leviathans are hiding.
I loved this episode so freaking much!
KICKASS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteLoved it. Robbie Thompson is the best addition to the writing team since Jeremy Carver in season 3.
ReplyDeleteCharlie was a great guest-star and I hope she'll be back next season. I loved that the boys had to be crafty and smart to thwart Dick's plan. And FINALLY, they disguised themselves as something other than Feds !

i loved sam's harry potter pep talk and dean's flirting :) i can't wait to see how the red clay comes into play.
ReplyDeleteI loved upernatural. So much better than Supernatural :P
ReplyDeleteWow. One of the better episodes of the season. Hell, one of the better episodes of the entire show. I was impressed. Clever, creative dialog and plot progression.
ReplyDeleteWhat an episode!!!! Loved it, adored it, worshiped it!!! What an amazing, amazing, AMAZING episode!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWell...that was more underwhelming than I'd expected. Not bad, but not overly exciting either.
ReplyDeleteThere were some good parts...I liked the continuation of the Bobby angle.
"This never happened, Sam!"
But all in all I kind of agreed with Dean...it was frustrating having the guys stuck in the van while everyone else was doing the dirty work.
Were we watching the same show? I'm surprised the cops weren't called to my address I was cheering so loudly so many times!
ReplyDeleteLoved it. The one nitpick would be the flashbacks and time jumps, but overall a fun episode. I even liked Dick, in a love-to-hate kind of way. They are so breaking their promise not to contact her again.
ReplyDeleteYou too?
ReplyDeleteHo about the scene where Pete grabs her arm? I was wondering if he was able to get some DNA and if she'd sho up as a Levi.
ReplyDeleteApparently we were...I found myself yawning more than cheering.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't go that far.. God it wasn't even close to that debacle with Becky and the wedding.. But you aren't completely alone in your feelings. I didn't hate it, I found it 'Good' at best. I enjoyed it but it wasn't one of the best ones this season.
ReplyDeleteMaybe it was more of just being tired of the having the guest stars featured over the main stars. I didn't like it but it probably was better than the wedding episode.
ReplyDeleteAgreed. Didn't hate it but didn't love it either. Frankly I don't see why people are so excited about it...didn't find it that good.
ReplyDeletewatching paint dry would have been better than the wedding episode. I do agree I'm tired of the boys taking a back seat so much.
ReplyDeleteI thought for a second they figured out Charlie was working with the boys and I was totally expecting the levi to turn to Charlie and go back to the boys pretending to be her ...guess I as wrong;-P
ReplyDeleteMaybe that will happen later
At least Baby was mentioned, get her home, guys. I loved the ep, hate that it seems Frank is dead, but with this show things just are not like they seem all the time, so will keep my fingers crossed.
ReplyDeleteFinally movement with the Levis and Bobby got to kick some ass, just don't want him going dark side.
ReplyDeleteOne of the best episodes o
ReplyDeleteAn enjoyable episode.
ReplyDeleteFrank was a crafty bastard, but it looks like the Levi actually did find and kill him. Too bad.
Yeah, Alastair has been the scariest for me too. I'd take my chances with Lucifer any day over him.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT! it was that good and I do not say that about most of the eps. she was awesone I so love that girl she was so cool and to help the guys was great. and then it got kind of O-11 on me I did not know what was going on tell the end that was cool the thing with bobby was great but I kind of know he wants to help but what the guys was talking about at the end can happen so I feel for that all in all great ep I love sam showing his geek side too thats hot and thats it.
ReplyDeleteHappy to add an AMC Matador to the vehicle list.
ReplyDeleteI loved it!
ReplyDeletegreat episode loved it and great choice to have felicia day i hope she comes back one day she was great!
ReplyDeletei have a question. what does the title of the episode have anything to do with it? I get she's a geek but they never mentioned d&d and they just talked about leia tatoo. Why didnt they say the girl with the princess leia tatoo. Would've attracted more dudes lol.
ReplyDeleteI think the fact that Bobby suddenly got so powerful was a sign that he was channeling his rage, not his Zen. So I don't think Sam and Dean were overreacting.
ReplyDeleteMy response on all of info coming from Bobby was that I didn't think Bobby had looked at the plans for more than a few seconds.
ReplyDeleteGreat episode. Loved the time jump stuff, reminded me of Ocean's 11 actually. Especially the bag switch at the airport.
ReplyDeletePatience everyone about the clay, all will be revealed in the upcoming episodes.
I absolutely loved Charlie, awesome episode.
ReplyDeleteHope to see her again.
I loved it as a story, but the way Sam & Dean have disappeared this season has me angry and confused. You're right, it's more than Gen's due date. They had no main story except filler all year. Do the writers and producers really think having the boys in the background is what we want? Are they that stripped of ideas?
ReplyDeleteI thought it was very entertaining, love Robbie Thompson as a writer, and Felicia Day was adorable.
ReplyDeleteBut Sam & Dean's roles are getting smaller as the season goes on, and it's more than Gen's pregnancy.
Princess Leia was sitting on a 20-sided die - that's a d&d reference - the die...
ReplyDeleteYeah, but that was at the end. They seemed too concerned at the beginning. They wouldn't let Bobby help because they were afraid of him showing some kind of vengeance against Dick, but on what grounds? He hadn't done anything. Like
ReplyDeleteI said, I understand they need to foreshadow Bobby maybe going all vengeful spirit, but they seem to be forcing it before it even happens.
Is that pronounced with a long or short u? :)
ReplyDeleteAbout that -- have no idea why they made a point of showing that, but don't they have to actually touch your skin? I mean Bobby was wearing gloves when he was trying to torture Chet, and Chet was only able to turn into Bobby when they accidentally touched skin to skin. So grabbing Charlie's arm around her shirt? That wouldn't do anything.
ReplyDeleteI thought it was skin, too. But maybe he picked up a hair from the sweater.. It seemed strange to me that they made sure they showed it.
ReplyDeleteDon't know about upernatural but Supernatural totally kicked ass!! Best episode of season 7 for me. :)
ReplyDeleteI thoroughly enjoyed it. Felicia Day sparked as Charlie.
ReplyDeleteI had the same reaction to the scene. They emphasized him grabbing her so it had to be for a reason but there was no actual contact. Whole thing bugged me in an otherwise good episode.
ReplyDeleteWhat about Alastair as a Leviathan. Good lord I probably be under my bed.lol
ReplyDeleteI still think Frank has a 50-50 chance at being alive and holing up somewhere.
ReplyDeleteHoly crap! That episode was awesome! The first episode I've thoroughly enjoyed since Death's Door. More episodes like this please! More info about the Leviathans please! More interesting plots like this please!
ReplyDeleteAm loving the typo on the page "upernatural"!
ReplyDeleteI am loving this ep. Felicia Day's adding some really nice energy.
So, we got the first puzzle piece to the big end of season fight.
As far as story there wasn't a whole lot but I enjoyed the caper.
I'm getting to the point where I'm starting to Hate guest stars
ReplyDeleteI've had enough of clever, crafty quirky guest stars popping out of the woodwork and outclassing my favourite brothers.
Comedy and geek references are funny now and then, but where's the danger and drama
I agree with KatAdams03. The older guest stars worked with the boys and were helped by them.
They didn't make Sam and Dean come over as useless.
How to survive being a female character on SPN? Be super geeky and completely unattractive to the boys either by being overly fangirly or being a lesbian.
ReplyDeleteI like the episode.
ReplyDeleteI'd head in the opposite direction and never ever stop lol
ReplyDeleteI'm running with you.lol
ReplyDeleteaverage episode the best two scene ,the flirt and bobby kiking roman ass that was so cool he deserve more
ReplyDeleteYeah me too. :)
ReplyDeleteThe episode was everything I hoped for, and more.
Maybe you have to be a bit geeky to truly appreciate Charlie Bardbury, but it is the age of the geek according to Leverage, no? :)
I just loved Felicia as Charley, I hope she'll returns next season.
It's Supernatural, this happens all the time, Death and this Natural Order.......well one more exception.....for Bobby...... won't hurt.
Can't wait for next episode!
Great episode, Felicia Day was great in this episode.
ReplyDeleteMaybe it was for the reason you said, to make you wonder if she was going to turn, I thought it was a fun twist.
ReplyDeleteUnder the bed would get very crowded,
ReplyDeleteChristopher Heyerdahl as Alastair is by far the scariest demon or character of any kind on SPN, he was awesome.
ReplyDeleteI kind of couldn't stop laughing when Dick said, "You're kind of completing me right now, Charlie..." I loved all the geeky references in this episode, too.. so awesome! Charlie was great, and I'm glad they didn't get rid of her. Sam's Harry Potter pep talk was absolutely priceless, and Dean flirting with the security guy through Charlie was hilarious.
ReplyDeleteOverall, I really loved it. It was a Leviathan-centered episode with fun characters to take a bit of the angst and the edge off, but they didn't ignore the path that Bobby might be spiraling down. I loved how the episode was structured, too. It had a very cool feel.
It seems like I'm the only one who didn't like it...
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed this one very much.
ReplyDeleteGreat mix of action and humour.
LOl at Dean worried face and tone when he said "baby".
ReplyDeleteI just had that thought of somebody kidnapping the impala and sending a letter "we have your car, do as we say and nothing will happen to it"
ps: and sending Dean a flat tire in a box to show how serious they are ;-D
ReplyDeleteWhen I saw Bobby teetering on the vengeful spirit line with Dick, I said, "Balls!"
ReplyDeleteI really hope if they get rid of him a second time it's as a good as Death's Door (but how probable is that?). Or maybe when they get rid of the Leviathan, they get a reward and Bobby either gets to go to heaven or gets resurrected. All I know is I love me some Bobby Singer (and Jim Beavers in general).
Well, you know cliche villains do love to tell the good guys their plans because they are so arrogant and couldn't possibly foresee defeat, LOL!
ReplyDeleteWell, we as an audience already had it pieced together (right?) so it was about time for the boys to know (they have had one hell of a year and maybe their brains are overloaded or it's just bad writing at times, I go with the former for argument's sake).
ReplyDeleteI'm wondering where he's going to end up, too.
ReplyDeleteThey were trying but Dick made it explicitly clear that some humans just can not be fully cloned/duplicated because they have something special, that enduring human spirit that keeps us going/hoping and leads us to do great things
ReplyDeleteReally, I could care less about Castiel, TBH but I know a lot of fans LOVE him so I hope they get a satisfying ending as well (I've been practicing my diplomacy, can you tell?)
ReplyDeleteI think we will find out more about that piece of GA clay soon enough in coming weeks and what it really means for the future of the world. How in the world can Sam and Dean and Bobby get rid of Dick Roman? Nothing seems to destroy him! Could he be a clone of Lucifer somehow?
ReplyDeleteLoved the show last night and I like Charlie a lot.
ReplyDeleteSomeone did :
ReplyDeletehttp://www.supernaturalwiki.com/index.php?title=7.20_The_Girl_with_the_Dungeons_and_Dragons_Tattoo
I was shouting "Soylent green is people!" as soon as Bobby quoted it ;-)
LOL, love the way you think. I just watched it again and also loved the Veronica Mars crack..that show was another that I got hooked on from the first ep.
ReplyDeleteI remember him saying that now. But it leaves me with even more questions like how they were able to clone Sam and Dean. If anybody in that show has something special, it's those two.
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting this, very interesting. Wonder if the Charger sold?
ReplyDeleteI'm with you on this, but it did make for a fun ep.
ReplyDeletelol Yeah that could totally happen. Dean would so go crazy. XD
ReplyDeleteAWESOME! Definitely awesome! There are no words that could describe how much I loved it!
ReplyDeleteAnd is it just me or did anyone else have "24" feeling looking at this split screens and all! Brilliant!
Sam pep talk was funny as hell, and Dean "dumbledork!" LOL
ReplyDeleteI like how the brothers can be with each other all the time and still keep those little secrets from each other.
I imagine Sam pretending to go to the library for some research just to
be able to read HP in peace without is brother mocking him.
ReplyDeleteHaha you're right, I can imagine all of this! And as dysfunctional as their lives may seem at times, I love how they're just like any other brothers deep down - brothers that love to rag on each other for their "guilty pleasures" :)
ReplyDeleteThey can duplicate the bodies, the look, but not their ''mind'', that's how I understood at least
ReplyDelete;-p Since when the title always has to ''have anything to do'' with the episode in SPN? Remember French Mistake?
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't rule Charlie out yet. If she needed the Winchesters, she would be one of the few with the ability to track them down.
ReplyDeleteThey did talk a lot about cloning in this episode, and the "spark" that made some humans irrepleacable. Maybe Dick's trying to get past this obstacle. Learning exactly what makes humans tick could help.
ReplyDeleteThat would be cruel and unusual punishment for Dean! :D
ReplyDeleteI think in the last episode when Bobby said he'd chosen to stay, Dean immediately remembered what Tessa told him about spirits who refuse to go with their reaper. They all eventually turn. So Dean instantly felt it was a forgone conclusion for Bobby. So I don't think their worry was premature.
ReplyDeleteI had the same thought. This is SPN, nothing is ever written in stone.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't mind seeing Charlie back again. She was a great character, imo. Would love to see Charlie and Garth joining forces! :D
ReplyDeleteI hope they both get a decent sendoff. Like it or not, they've been Sam and Dean's biggest allies and part of "Team Free Will", so they deserve as much.
ReplyDeleteAgreed...LOVE that part of their relationship, it's what makes them really seem like brothers. :)
ReplyDeleteNot at all. I didn't hate it, but I didn't like a lot either. It was just fair to middling for me. Parts were great, parts could've been much better.
ReplyDeleteDon't think Dick and Luci are clones. Actually, I think Luci is easier to stop...he's still an archangel, so an angel blade would work on him. Dick is turning out to be a much harder nut to crack.
ReplyDeleteThat was my thought when they revealed the clay. Being that it came from the Middle East I thought maybe it will somehow tie in with creation? We shall see.
ReplyDeleteNow that would be a fun ep. lol
ReplyDeleteThat would be really awesome: Brain and a poor substitute for brawn with Garth, he trying to hit on her and Charlie having to remind her that she is a lesbian XD
ReplyDeleteI need this now!
This has become one of my favorite episodes of the show; call me heretic, but I firmly believe that the brothers should not be the main focus of every episode, I love when we see the SPN world through side characters, and Day's character really carried this episode, and the writing and directing and style was just awesome.
ReplyDeleteDon't get me wrong, my favorite episodes are about the brothers (Swan Song and When the Levee Breaks are my top two) But the ones when we see the world through side characters are my second type of favorite episode, I believe it enriches the mythology of the show.
ReplyDeleteGreat episode!!! Certainly one of the best ones this season.
ReplyDeleteLeviathans may be able to clone the brothers body, but not their spirit, that little spark which made them who they are.
ReplyDeleteI remember having a lot of fun reading the posts of fan trying to figure what that one meant :-D
ReplyDeleteWho said we're not being fans? Being a fan doesn't mean being a mindless drone who loves everything they see. Not every episode is that great...that's to be expected. Nobody said it was terrible, some of us just didn't like it as much as we did other episodes. Doesn't mean we don't appreciate the show.
ReplyDeleteI'm all for a Charlie comeback, but Garth meeeh ... Let's just say I hope Carver quickly forget that character and his infamous talking socks ;)
ReplyDeletehey girl be careful dont hiperventilate your writing cool down i am completely agree with you when i read your post i decide to reply in your behave those other people are crazy & hate full followers who like bother people like us supernatural police squad
ReplyDeleteFingers crossed. :)
ReplyDeletePretty much every Harry Potter reference was over my head -- never saw or read any of them. Still I chuckled at the Veronica Mars, Star Wars and War Games nods. :)
ReplyDeleteIt had Lord of the Rings, Star Wars and Harry Potter references, they were so funny! I loved the episode.
ReplyDeleteHmmm... I had completely missed that line that it was from Mid-east. Now finale seems more than what it was earlier for me. :D
ReplyDeleteBefore the 'sin' and 'fall', this second creation was perfect.
ReplyDeleteI hope you're right. It always saddened me they never went really deep about the meaning of souls in season 6. That would give a lot more meaning to Sera's work.
ReplyDeleteGreat. Except they're hardly ever the main focus of any episode this season.
ReplyDeleteI strongly disagree.
ReplyDeleteI expect the stories to be about them. You say the episodes has been focused on them, but you're mistaken. They're not focused on them like they have in the first seasons.
ReplyDeleteI mean like Sam dealing with having powers or the demon blood or losing Jessica.
I agree. I was going to vote 'poor', but in the end, voted 'OK' for the final minutes of the episode.
ReplyDeleteThey said it was being flown in from Iran, so the whole creation idea made sense to me.
ReplyDeleteOh Sue, you have to get on board with Harry Potter. While the first couple are definitely children's books the others are not. Plus J. K. Rowling can really write unlike a certain unnamed trilogy's author.
ReplyDeleteBut then what was the Amy thing? seriously. It was about taking a choice, no one forced him, if that's not an ACTION of a very deeply personal understanding, I don't know what is it.
ReplyDeleteI completely agree, though, that in the stories this season, there has been a mild lack of character introspection, but I peg on it on the jaded atmosphere of the arc.
In the end, we come to an agreement.
ReplyDeleteYour last bit "
it's like they chose to show less internal conflict, assuming a more stable relationship for the brothers and focus on the external threats" is also what I think they've done this season, more so than any other season, and I don't like it either.
I'm hoping with the next season it's different.
Yeap. I don't like it, but I get it. Though I like a "bit" that at least they seem healthier if by omission :D.
ReplyDeleteloved it. loved all the nerdy references and that i got every single one of them. especially sam with hermione.
ReplyDeleteand dean instructing charlie on flirting was hilarious!!!
loving the whole leviathan storyline, its sooo intriguing! can't wait for next week!
I voted OK, it wasnt bad it wasnt good it was just....OK. Kinda meh last the last 2 episodes were. Again I felt like I didnt really need Sam and Dean to be there for the episode to work, it would have been fine without them.
ReplyDeleteI liked Charlie but dont care if I never see her again.
ReplyDeleteWait there was a Harry Potter joke. O.O omg I wanna watch *cries*
ReplyDelete.. I'm waiting for the dvd since I missed a lot of episode. this is HARD
Multiple Harry Potter jokes. Not quite as many as the Star Wars jokes, but HP was well represented. Sam even gives a Hermoine Granger pep talk.
ReplyDeleteAw so proud of my Sammy
ReplyDeleteJared is always swoon worthy even more so now that he's a daddy. Sam carrying Charlie?Sexiest thing I've seen on this show in forever. Miss Day was a very lucky lady.
ReplyDeleteFinally got to watch the episode and I really, really loved it. I mean, it somehow didn't even feel like Supernatural, but I think it was awesome... for what it was :P
ReplyDeleteWas awesome Charlie was funny it look likes Bobby can help the boys after all he did put dick down pretty hard even if he did cause Charlie to break her arm
ReplyDeleteVoted "Awesome", because I love the idea of some unique people being so unique and bloody brilliant, that Leviathans can't copy them, no matter how hard they try.
