  1. I loved it! So weird without Steve, but I liked Danny being in charge. And poor Max. I'm glad he stopped the murderer though!

And awwwwwww at Max and the freed prisoner at the end. That was so cute!

Steve, WTF are you doing? Stop that. Get some help!

  2. Just an ok ep for me. I know that with Alex out that they need ed to shift focus elsewhere, and as much as I like Masi and the Max character, I prefer the character in small doses and would've liked an ep that gave us more backstory on either Chin or Kono, as I feel they really never get a chance to really shine, but perhaps we'll get that in upcoming eps before Steve returns.

  3. did not like the episode at all it lacked substance to me. Hopefully it will be a better episode on April 30

  4. This was a great episode.  I like that the back story of Max was shown.  Chin and Kono are getting more screen time and they will get their chance in the crossover episode as well.  I always want more of the original 4, but come on Max deserves some air time as well, and he did a great job.  They all covered well for the absence of Steve.  It was nice to see Steve at the end, knowing he will be back for the last 2 episodes.

  5. Watch it but will never watch it again
    very forgettable episode
It seemed like it had lost all his energy and even Scott/Danny acting was a bit off tonight.

I had  hoped to see more of Kono  now that Alex / Steve had to leave the show for a while. Why not some backstory about Kono we still do not know much about her. I never been a fan of Max and never will be.

H50 is not the same without Steve/Alex  for me well only one episode to go before he is back!

  6. I was more continually interested in this story than I have been in a while.  (Usually, I'm occupied with something else until I hit the twist, but tonight they had my interest throughout.  One character I wish they'd hold to a scene only occasionally is Kamekona.  It just always seems like they're working too hard to make his bits funny.

  7. Loved the episode! I thought they all did a good job w/o Steve being there.

  10. Since this episode was planned before Alex left for rehab, they weren't shifting the focus to Max to compensate for his absense.  We might eventually learn more about Kono and Chin though some of their story has been revealed over the last part of season one and the first part of this season.  I enjoyed the episode and will watch it again.  Masi showed a lot of depth in this episode and I enjoyed learning about him.

It was a god episode. And gave Masi a chance to shine. I thought the storyline very good. And the van being impounded was the light relief. Kamekona serving from a BBQ and a table. And his secret recipes worth lots of money
Obviously missed Steve/Alex, he is the best. So glad for the tidbit at the end off on a mission to find Joe. The next eppie will be weird with the NCIS crossover without our man. But he needed it he looked so gaunt.
I will show my appreciation of him by watching his show in his abscense

  12. Great episode - something was definitely missing without Steve but it was still enjoyable. I've always liked the Danny/Chin partnership so it was nice to see more of that. I'm glad we got to see a bit more of Max and his backstory - Masi Oka was great and I loved the final scene with the freed prisoner.

  14. Good episode I liked how they mention Max's past and it kind of reminded me like I was watching Bones.  But the thing that disappointed me was that was once again lack of Kono.  And Taylor Wily (Kamekona) man whenever somebody is down he is always there to cheer somebody up.  Poor Scott I think he was finding it hard doing scenes without Alex there but Steve will be back by April 7th so we wont need to worry too much.

If you were wondering if the end scene is fake it is some of us fans have been speculating that the scenes that Peter had been saying were filmed were actually not new scenes that were used in the final scene it is actually from Episode 1.07 - 'Ho'opono' about the Navy Seal that took hostages on the Arizona they used the scene of where Steve walks off to dive into the water to get into the Arizona.  I think purely they used Alex's stunt double of him walking to the private jet.

I pretty much figured how they were going to write Alex off in the episodes thinking that he will figure out that Joe was lying or that he heard Joe that he needed him in Japan so I knew exactly what was going to happen before it was revealed by TV Guide

  15. It was a very good procedural story and I love all the actors but without Steve/Alex it just wasn't the same. He's always the main reason I've watched, it's my favorite show- but I never realized just how important his role on Hawaii 5-0 was until he went missing, even with the lovely backdrop of Hawaii. His character Steve McGarrett is such a powerful driving force. They better give Alex O'Loughlin a huge raise and make sure he never gets hurt again. He's definitely the goose (SEAL) that laid the golden #H50 egg. Can't wait for his return on 02.22!
