Thanks to Tara for the heads up.

August tells Emma how to beat Regina and how she can get custody of Henry, while Regina hatches a plot to seduce David now that Mary Margaret is back at work. In the fairy-tale world, a plan to save Snow White and Prince Charming’s daughter unfolds and is agreed to by Geppetto, who has his own child’s safety in mind.

  1. And now I am torn between August is Baelfire and August is Pinnochio theories YET AGAIN... :[

  2. I'm quite sure that August is Pinnochio. The writers has been dropping hints of August lying all season long and havn't given any hints that links to Baelfire yet~

Couldn't August be in some weird way both Baelfire and Pinocchio? (Turned into a puppet like Jiminy's parents, and when "transported" into our world turned into a human again? Curses in FTL don't seem to stick in Storybrooke, so... And during his time as a puppet Gepetto could have taken care of him and protected him from the curse..? It could explain why Rumplestilskin never found his son...) I don't know, just a crazy theory ;)

  4. I am thinking he is both, frankly.

As in whatever he tries to do to help his father in 1x19 turns him into a tree and then Gepetto after few centuries, makes a living doll out of it, in a sense "adopting" Baelfire.

  5. Okay maybe August is both Pinnochio and Baelfire.

  6. Am I the only one who doesn't want August to be Pinocchio? The writers have been hiding his identity for about 10 episodes. I don't think it has the emotional impact they need to make it worth the wait. Pinocchio's story is sad, of course it is, but I don't think it's tragic enough for the build-up.
If August = Bae, then it'd give the writers so many opportunities. It'd be a great way to show a different side of Rumple. It'd cause some tension, because he's a different person now, with his own goals, agenda. And August would become even more complicated than he is now, torn between the reasons why he came back and his loyalty to Rumple.
At this point I agree with those people who claim that August = Pinocchio = the boy who found Emma. But I hate it, too :P I've never liked

  7. how about:

August = Pinocchio  = the boy who found emma = Baelfire.

We know 1x19 focuses on Baelfire, so what if whatever he tries to do to save is father from the fate of Dark One ultimately ends up to him being transformed/changed either int a tree or into a puppet.

Gepetto then a few centuries latter "adopts" and names him Pinocchio. THEN whatever happens in 1x20 leads to him being transported to real world, thus getting his "doll" curse undone. He then is the kid who found Emma and ages normally till returning to storybrooke now.

  8. I think it's way too complicated for this show (great reasoning, though!), but I want it to be true so badly..
I'm still holding on to the hope that August takes Emma to see Gepetto, because he's been trying to adopt a kid his whole life and knows everything about the adoption process. And the real Pinocchio is a puppet hidden in Mr. Gold's shop (Blue Fairy turned him into one as a way to save him from the curse). It seems far-fetched, though..Even if we assume that August isn't Bae then.. How did he find the knife (Bae knows his father well enough to know his hiding places)? He looks a little shaken when he's holding it in the woods, but why? What's the reason why we didn't see him interact with Rumple even though he always knows what's going on around him? August's dying both his hair AND beard (I understand that your hair color could change, but not that drastically; and Pinocchio appeared only for a few seconds, the producers could have easily replaced him with another child)?^^ Why would he want to control the Dark One (the apparent reason why he was looking for the knife) when Emma's the one who can break the curse? Rumple wants to find out who August is, and would it really matter to him if he was Pinocchio (not much of a threat, one might think)?I'm pretty sure I'm in for a disappointment, but I still have hope :P

  9. If that had happened to Bae, would Rumples have given Jiminy the potion that would turn his parents into puppets?

Although that is a lot of irony and the show does like that.

    ReplyDelete
  10. That would explain on why Rumple even had that potion idea. :)

  11. Ooh, I can't wait for this.

Also torn on whether August is Bae or Pinocchio.

    ReplyDelete
  12. However it all snaps back into place if he is both.

1x19 would show how Baelfire became Pinocchio.
1x20 would show how Pinnochio became August.

It would also explain Emma's freak out try to leave in 1x21. If August is both of those characters and the person who found Emma, she would have the tangible proof of the curse being real, which, well, frankly, would scare the hell out of any normal person.

  13. I'm glad to see more of Geppetto!  I feel like I've been waiting forever to see him in the fairy tale world, and it's awesome that he's connected to Snow and Charming.  Looking forward to this one  :)

  14. Truth be told i've been sitting here wondering what to write...

    ReplyDelete
  15. Lots of hints that August is Pinocchio and then we get pics of Bae and August with Rumple's knife... I'm starting to think the Bae/Pinocchio theory is true.. Blue Fairy turned Bae into a tree, years later Gepetto carves Pinocchio from the same tree (ironic as he lost his parents because of Rump), then he is sent to 'our' world to ensure baby Emma is safe, hence the boy who found Emma...

  16. So much for Emma's constant assurances that she has no intention of taking Henry away from Regina.

    ReplyDelete
  17. August IS Pinnochio. I trust my gut.

Also, it's interesting that we're jumping forward in time with Pinnochio's flashbacks to around the time of the pilot. Ever since the second episode, we were going further and further away from the curse.

    ReplyDelete
  18. I do not really agree with the last sentence.

EVERYTHING in the flashbacks so far has been tied to the curse, how it works, why it is there, etc.

  19. I really hope that August isn't both Bae and Pinocchio.  I was willing to go along with it when they made Ruby two different storybook characters and that was stretching it.  If OUAT starts mashing up their characters like Glee does with songs it's going to get annoying really fast.

    ReplyDelete
  20. They already did it with far more than just Ruby.

Prince Charming is a mashup of two fairytales and a bit of greek mythology.
Sydney is a mash up of two characters.
Rumple is a mash up of far more than two characters it seems.
    As is Regina.

  21. I'm really looking forward to these last few episodes!

  22. I still personally believe that August is Henry from the future :)

    ReplyDelete
  23. Still confused about August's identity and seriously just thinking about Regina trying to seduce David makes me so angry! Wonder what's the plan to get custody of Henry. I can't believe it would easy.

    ReplyDelete
  24. "Regina hatches a plot to seduce David now that Mary Margaret is back at work" Nooo... But it seems very likely. The person Regina sleeps with is David... OR they just make it look like David now so that later when it isn't him, we'll get an omg moment.
"Geppetto, who has his own child’s safety in mind." Yeah that could very well mean that August is Pinocchio. BUT it doesn't have to. He could as well be someone else who is seen later. But it doesn't seem likely. I soo wished fo August to be Baelfire and the theory about him being Baelfire and Pinocchie does seem very alluring. Hopefully it is true but propably too far-fetched. Well we'll see...

    ReplyDelete
  25. Yeah i hear ya! When they started with David not knowing who he wanted to be with, and all the consistences with Emma's character and add up everything else that they want us to swallow, its getting to be a little much..The only episode i enjoyed in a long time was The Mad Hatter, but is that enough?

    ReplyDelete
  26. I don't think August is Pinnochio. I think that Gepetto is going to have to wrestle with the decision of giving the wardrobe to Snow White and Charming and thereby letting his child be cursed or using the wardrobe for his own child instead . It is easy to see why this would be so difficult for him...

    ReplyDelete
  27. Sleeping with David is a sure-fire way of destroying Mary Margaret. I approve.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Interesting. I'm still quite convinced that August is Baelfire, but this little synopsis opens up the possibility that he might be Pinocchio.

  29. Prince Charming's daughter?????

    ReplyDelete
  30. Ha. I thought with Ruby and Rumple they were trying to avoid having too many bad guys running around town stealing Regina's thunder, so they merged stuff. But the combining is kinda lame, because they are playing on us knowing one story and trying to fit the show to the template, and then going, "Look a surprising revelation!" I'm like, "Yeah, great, you changed the story, way to trick me." But I did like Ruby being the wolf, so maybe I'll like whatever they do here?

    ReplyDelete
  31. I don't see how Regina will sleep with David even if she plots to seduce him, that does not mean they sleep together. And how lame is David if that does happen. He claims to "love" with MM but ends up sleeping with Regina?? Really?? Unless there is some magic involved I highly doubt that will happen. Regina will try but fail and who knows she'll sleep with someone but it won't be David. Maybe she ends up with August or Dr. Whale.

    ReplyDelete
  32. That's probably the most likely situation and again plays on biological parents verses adoptive parents, which clearly a HUGE theme.

I don't know if August has been completely lying, or just not telling the whole truth...but it may run in the family.

    ReplyDelete
  33. I disagree. I think everything that has been presented to us about the nature of magic, curses, incarnations, and/or convergences of power and relaity is exceptionally complicated.

But because the show labels it "magic" and not "science", most viewers are not taxing themselves on the 'quantum mechanics' of either universe/reality. But I am with Arthur Clarke's third law that "advanced tech may not be distinguishable from magic", and so there may be deep axioms and laws presented to us about how everything effects everything...and about how one uses their tools to what advantage that may matter in the end.

IMO what Borednow purposes makes GREAT sense. And think his guesses are the best ones.

  34. If something happens between David and Regina, cursed or not cursed, drugged or not drugged.......BYE BYE SHOW. I want great scripts, not soap operas. I love the romance between Snow&Charming/Mary&David, if they ruin that.....BYE. And I hope ratings drops if they do that.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Exactly. We not only witness the curse on a daily basis in Storybrooke , but the magical aspect of fairy tale land expands on "what" the curse did/does to people in certain magical situations.

In some ways it's almost like the curse didn't necessarily destroy everything everyone had, but in some cases made certain characters better than they were before (ex: Mr. Gold) or combined them and mixed them up in really interesting ways. Some characters are "missing" pieces of themselves as well (Marry Margaret is rather timid in Storybrooke and has lost her former adventurous spirit, that seems to lie with Henry...)

Additionally one can argue that Regina is cursed too! ---Strangely as much as she attempts to hurt Emma, she has yet to really hurt Henry, and whether it's because Henry Jr. is a reincarnation of Henry Sr. or not, it seems she has a second chance at being a better mother figure, as it's curious how much Henry physically resembles Mary Margaret in modern day...

    ReplyDelete
  36. Sorry, I should've worded it better. What I meant was that in terms of time, we're going backwards. As in, more years before the curse.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Sorry but I have to ask? Did you never even imagine that a Regina/David plot would happen before now. Cos I have had it in my head since 1.06 and am actually surpised it hasn't happened before now. Regina is seeking revenge on MM. Nothing beats taking ur revenge on someon you hate more than attempting to sleep with the man they love. I am actually a fan of both Regina an David so I am interested to see where it wil go. Could be interesting. I for one see a different side to Regina around David and am interested to find out if there is more to this whole thing than we think. And I doubt ratings would drop that much soley because of Regina/David. Snowing is an important part of the plot but it is by no means the only reason people watch. There are many aspects of the show that people enjoy and I can't see them giving up on it just because Snow/Charming doesn't happen straight.
