TVLine can now confirm that the person set to resurface in the May 7 season finale is the late Captain Montgomery’s wife, Evelyn (to again be played by Judith Scott).

What returns the widow to Beckett & Co.’s orbit? Here is what series creator Andrew W. Marlowe revealed about the season-ending encore. “Events force us to wonder whether the case we’re working on might be linked to the Beckett’s mother murder case” – aka the conspiracy-led cover-up that Monty was rather complicit in, and ultimately died for. “We’ll be picking at that scab again

    I hope Castle and Beckett don't have to tell Montgomery's wife the entire truth about her husband.  That would suck for everyone involved.

    you know what if it was Castl'e CIA father that turned out to be the one entirely behind beckett's mom's murder like entirley and after what he did he vanished. That would be a great twist and a giant great china wall in Castle and Beckett's relationship later on in the series. But first we need them together for at least a little.

    Love it!  Captain Montgomery's death (I miss him btw) already bonds Castle and Beckett and I'm thinking, hoping rather, that whatever information his wife holds will at the least be a catalyst for these two to finally get on the same page and start a truthful dialogue about what is going on between them. As Laine so brilliantly expressed, what for me is at the core of this show, life is too short - stop wasting time with what ifs and live your life to the fullest because you just never know when your time is up.

    i think whether she holds any information or not she will serve as a reminder that loved ones are never around forever and I think she may push Castle and Beckett towards each other. I bet Montgomery spoke about the two and she might mention that??
