Ooooh, I have a feeling that Beckett's will be going head to head with Adam Baldwin's character after getting a look at Castle's nose. Nobody puts her Castle in harm's way and walks away unscathed.
I have a hard time believing that Castle is still this skittish in the field. It seems inconsistent to me. This is the same guy who stayed cool under pressure being held hostage at a bank robbery, has shot multiple people and who tackled and pummeled Hal Lockwood the contract killer. Castle should be handling himself better at this point.
I think the reason he is acting differently is because this is a different situation. He is with a gang unit Detective rather than a homicide one. Different circumstances.
All my examples were different circumstances. The only solid reason I can fathom as to why Castle would be this way is because he seems to have a bit of a man-crush on this new detective and so he's more than a little nervous.
Yep, I second that thought. The risk here is bringing the 'old Rick Castle' back, there's been such a nice progression over the seasons, it would be a shame to ruin this progression with a single episode. I guess we'll just have to wait and see... :o
Lol, true. I don't doubt that Kate will have very harsh words for Castle as well about how much of an imbecile he's being for putting himself into situations that can get him hurt or killed, but I think that she's going to realize that he's acting out for some reason (or at least I hope).
And so I hope that she directs some anger at Detective Slaughter (Adam Baldwin) for being so willing to work with him/take him and putting him in dangerous situations. I know he's playing a tough character and Beckett can be tougher than nails when she wants to be-especially when she's mad. So I hope we see them have a standoff about Castle.
I think it's a matter of brain vs. brawn. From everything that I've read Detective Slaughter is very much a man's man who likes to go in guns blazing whereas Beckett likes to think through, formulate a plan, and then follow through on that plan.
Castle is highly intelligent and can think his way out of situations. Also he's not really the fighting type, unless someone he cares about is in danger. I get the feeling that Slaughter doesn't plan through things as much and that's what throws Castle off balance.
In other words. Kate's think first and Slaughter's act first. Castle does better with Kate's way.
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
Someone is gonna be pissed.

ReplyDeleteCould this be a way to show us that he's a better person with Beckett/when she's around ? Might be this kind of metaphor...
ReplyDeleteI read that it may be a "grass is greener" situation but I hope it's not as ham-fisted as it seems.
