Netflix is already bringing back one cancelled 20th Century Fox TV series, the Emmy-winning Arrested Development. Now the video streaming giant is taking a look at another, drama Terra Nova. I hear that 20th TV and Netflix have been in talks about keeping the pre-historic drama alive. My sources stress that the conversations are preliminary and it is unclear if they will materialize into a negotiation, but for fans of the series left heartbroken by Fox’s decision on Monday not to pick it up for a second season, this is still encouraging news. Immediately after Fox made its cancellation decision, 20th TV made it clear that it would try hard to find a new home for the series and shop it to other networks.Source and more: Deadline

ReplyDeleteYep, that site is run by people who I suspect are just number crunchers. They don't seem to actually like or care about TV shows.

Agreed! Especcially since whomever posts there seems to get away with bad mouthing shows and, what's even more shocking, SHOW SUPPORTERS who jump in to defend a show left right and center. I mean, I've got nothing against the site, it is a fantastic source for ratings etc. Just poor management.

Totally agree, the info they post is VERY helpful. Shame that their "fame" has gone to their heads and they think they are better than everyone else. I don't have time for people like that.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I bet it's not going to happen. Terra Nova is an expensive show. Netflix is now trying to spread it's roots in original programming. It's too much of an undertaking. They can get 2 or 3 shows for that price.
ReplyDeletethe mentality of the guys at TV by the numbers is not new to me. My brother is someone who looks at everything in terms of facts and statistics. He even has a numeric system to see if a film is good or not based on the nominations and awards, the grossing relative the budget, it's a whole thing. :D
ReplyDeleteThe thing about them is, they just want to be right about every call they make. And sure enough, with such thinking, they mostly are. But no formula can take into account everything and for that reason, for shows Dollhouse and Fringe, their system fails.
But we need someone crunching the numbers all the time and giving us the numbers view of a TV show, we don't have to agree with their opinions, but their website is a rich source of statistical information we can use to form our own opinions... :)
Netflix is intresed in everything that gets canned. This is just a trick to get some PR as always, since Netflix cant buy this show. It`s to expensive.

ReplyDeleteIt'd be interesting if this is true, but if they were to try to bring it back, they'd definitely have to do quite a bit of budget cutting in cast and production costs for sure
