No HIMYM tonight, again ? Not that I like the show a lot anymore, but I don't mind watching it (and the last episode happened to make me smile a few times). Having only a single new episode between February 28 and April 15, that's quite a bummer. But that's what happens when you air 11 episodes in the first to months, you only have 9 episodes spreader over the next five months (including 4 in February alone) before the final run ending the season.
Well, HIMYM or not, Mondays (with Wednesdays) continue to be a night with very few shows for me whereas a few years ago, I had a handful of them on that night : 24, Prison Break, Sarah Connor, Chuck, Heroes and TBBT (+ The Chicago Code and The Event last season — Alcatraz and Smash are really not of the same caliber). There were even The Big C and Bored to Death / Enlightened a few months ago, but both HBO and Showtime decided to stick only to Sundays from now on. Well, there's still Canal+, they air their créations originales on Mondays, and tonight it's episodes 4.03/4.04 of Mafiosa, I will store that until I'm up to date.
I'm going to go to a movie then. I've seen The Hunger Games last Thursday (if it's the new massive franchise all the kids will be talking about for years, I'm all for it, because like Harry Potter it's actually good, and Jennifer Lawrence is a truly great actress, comparing she/this film to Kristen Stewart/Twilight is just not appropriate). So I think I'm going to go see Cloclo tonight. Not a fan of Claude François per say, but this biopic is apparently mesmerizing, the reviews are raving and it got the third best opening week of the year, sending Sherlock Holmes 2 to the fourth place by 30,000 entries. Well, Cloclo will be fourth next Wednesday when we'll know the results of the first week of The Hunger Games, it promises to be huge, it's a sure thing that it will top Les infidèles (#2) and La vérité si je mens 3 (#1). The Césars are 11 months away but Jérémie Renier (playing Claude François) is already a serious contender for best actor. Maybe Cloclo / Renier will do like La Môme / Marion Cotillard and go on to the Oscars (I don't know if Cloclo is as popular in the US as Piaf though, maybe it won't).
Plus, Florent Emilio-Siri directed it. Big fan of his nocturnal thriller Nid de guêpes (The Nest), everything an action film should be. And he worked with french studio Ubisoft (the headquarters are in Rennes, I've passed by that place a few times :)) to supervise the directing of what would become the first chapter of one of Ubisoft's leading franchises (along with Rayman, Prince of Persia, Far Cry and Assassin's Creed) and one of my all-time favorite videogame series : Splinter Cell. He directed the opening of Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow as well. Back to movies, he directed L'ennemi intime, an awesome war film, and he even directed Bruce Willis in Hostage (an okay thriller, the plot isn't marvelous but the directing is one of the film's major qualities, and after Nid de guêpes (mostly taking place during one night in a warehouse) it confirms Siri likes filming in closed spaces).
Or I'll just enjoy the weather outside in the evening. It's daylight saving time since yesterday, last week it was pretty sunny and hot (great way to mark the beginning of Spring) and it seems to continue this week.
But no Castle for me. By the way, this is weird, Alcatraz is pretty big around here and yet only Justine here seems to be watching the finale, according to the previous comments. Well, I'm watching it, too.
The episode of The Good Wife that I didn't bother with yesterday due to its being knocked off schedule, again! This is a weekly problem and I'm really annoyed with CBS for its stupid Sunday scheduling. This time I recorded CSI after TGW so I can hopefully find it. Rant over.
I know exactly how you feel,if its not basketball its football and i love football, but it screws everything else up.Why can't they put one of their less popular shows on Sunday nights? That's the reason i stopped watching TGW.I'll catch up one day,it just won't be on Sunday night....
Slow night. Alcatraz and Castle for me. Still have last night's Mad Men to squeeze in as well. Might get a few Cheers episodes in too. Been Netflixing that lately. You know, something to watch when nothing else is on and I have dinner to cook and laundry to fold....
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
