I won't watch the full episode of Supernatural, but I'll tune in toward the end to catch the promo for 7.17 which has my favorite character returning at last.
SPN, Nikita are certain. Fairly Legal disappointed me in season one, but some of the publicity indicates that they may be fixing some of my issues with the show, so I'm giving it a second shot. When Fringe returns FL will be DVR'd at the late showing and watched the next day or maybe later.
Supernatural. Looks good, our boys and cursed objects and then Sam breaking. Hopefully Castiel will only be in episode 17 and just maybe a little in 16 and 18 and then finally gone for good. He and the Angel mythology at the hands of kripke have done enough damage to this show and the characters by being shoe horned in seasons too long. Season 4 thru 6 cost this show half its fandom. Can't wait unitl Castiels gone (no offense to Misha) and the show gets back to what it just started finally being again,, the story of Sam and Dean
Shark Tank and Supernatural. I can hardly wait for Castiel to return! :D I'm so excited! Plus I'm looking forward to more of Sam's struggles with his hell memories (though not looking forward to his cure, Lucifer is one hilarious bastard and I really like him on the show).
Cas' episodes aren't consecutive. He's going to be in some episodes closer to the end of the season, maybe even the season finale. Misha's said it's not out of the question that he'll be in season 8. Just so you know :D
Cas in season 8 would be the second best new for me. The first would be the confirmation that SPN is renewed for another season of course :-)
It depend on how season 7 end for him of course, but I would like to have Cas appear from time to time to help the boys like Rufus or Bobby did. If he keeps his knowledge but lose his angelic power, that would be possible.
Having him only in a few episodes would be best for all: It would be more tolerable for the fan who don't like him. For Cas fan, it would be like a birthday party every time our favorite angel would appear :-) I also think the writing staff would give us the best of Cas if he was less on screen than in season 4,5,6.
I hope the "swan song" case will be peripheral and lightly funny, just enough to defuse a little the tension from Sam condition. Buckle your belt and be ready for an emotional Sam roll coaster tonight!
Saying Cas fans should be happy with less for the Cas haters benefit is not cool. If we're going to compromise why not compromise for Dean and Sam haters too and give Jensen and Jared some days off? See, not cool.Besides, I disagree that Castiel should be in less episodes than the previous seasons because it 'would be best for all'. Cas became the highlight of the show for me, and I think the writers did just fine with him in the last seasons. He's already been in less this season, and we've had plenty of Sam/Dean only episodes, so frankly bollocks to less in season eight. Why not try something new and put him in every episode? ;PBut I concede that of course anything at all would be better than nothing. In any case he's going to be in as many episodes as the writers want.
"Saying Cas fans should be happy with less for the Cas haters benefit is not cool."
I didn't say that. Season 4 and 5, Cas wasn't in every episodes and I remember how joyfull it was to have him appear on screen. A sort of "when it's rare you enjoy every moment of it" feeling. Not "I enjoy it more because some others hate less" feeling. I do like peace in the fandom, but I'm not that consensual :-)
I do love Cas dearly, he's is a wonderfull multilayered character and probably my favorite all my tv shows taken together.
But I also think the writers don't always know what to do with him. So sometimes, they use him as a comic relief or made him act out of character, like Kissing Meg. I'm all for Cas discovering porn or kissing a girl, but a demon? No way! Neither do not want Cas being the fool of the show.
As much as I like the nerdy little guy with wings, I don't see him sitting in the backseat of the impala for a whole season.
Now, if there was a Cas spinoff, I would jump on that wagon like a flea on its favorite dog :-D
NOTE: Name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you BANNED from the party.
NCAA's, Nikita, and SPN

ReplyDeleteNikita because it's awesome and these may well be the last episodes before cancellation. Oh, Maggie Q and Lyndsy Fonseca don't hurt.
ReplyDeleteFairly Legal to see if the changes to the show improve it. Also, Sarah Shahi is gorgeous and I want her on my television screen as often as I can.
Nothing for me tonight... sadly there is still a week to wait for Fringe... :(
